I've been patronizing this place for years. Even if I moved away from Long Beach, I still gave them my business. They have such a wide selection, and the staff is usually very helpful. I know we're all having a hard time doing business because of covid, but recently, it seems Rick's is having a harder time than most. At least, from a customer's perspective of shopping there. The shop has so much merchandise, that you really MUST see it all in order to choose what you want. At Rick Wicked's though, they won't let you in the store, even with a mask on. You have to stand on the sidewalk and tell them what you want. And so, the last time I was there, I didn't know precisely what I wanted, and a new woman I haven't seen there before made me tell her exactly what I was looking for even though I had only a small clue. She couldn't even tell me what the selection was correctly, despite myself somewhat knowing what they keep in stock, and she was barely willing to help me. When I asked her what the offerings were, she grew frustrated that I didn't know what I wanted to buy despite not even seeing what was available! Then, when she gave me the product, it wasn't what I'd asked for, and she told me they didn't have what I was looking for. It was then that someone from inside the shop corrected her, which she then relayed to me, and STILL didn't get the right product. Maybe she smoked too much that day, I don't know. But when your customers can't even look at your shelves to see your product, and your salespeople don't even know what you sell, and on top of that are rude, how am I supposed to support your business? I wasn't even buying anything complex, that's how much this woman complicated the process. There's a great shop about 100 yards from this one that lets you inside, has a bigger selection, and the best part, the POLITE staff actually knows everything about what the store carries. Love this spot. I could easily spend an hour looking at the beautiful glass artwork that they have on display. Good quality, fairly priced, unique pieces. The shop actually blows a fair amount of the pieces themselves, and you can even order a custom piece. The employees know what's up and are always friendly. Really love the shop! I feel like the staff genuinely cares about how satisfied you are with your purchase and they're stoked on the products they carry. It's nothing like the shady little stores on El Cajon run by shifty eyed weirdos. I was impressed with the variety of glassware: there's a wide variety of sizes, percs, and styles. This place is right by my house, the staff are always very friendly, and know a lot about their merchandise. Their products are unique and they have a lot of items that I haven't seen in other smoke shops. They have an inhaler vaporizer (which works great and is affordable) that I purchased and received a discount from Yelp. Jericho was a super friendly guy who pointed me in the right direction. I got a better product than I expected based on his recommendation.

You cannot get the same story or response from ANY of the employees. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Went in to get a bowl repaired, the male side had broken off cleanly so I stopped by to ask them if they could fix it. The girl working told me it would not be a problem, just to leave the bowl there and they'd take care of it. I went to the counter to give her my information and then all of a sudden a deposit was required to leave the bowl. I had no cash on me at the time so I told her I'd come back later with it. Then when I had the deposit cash I went back in and gave it to them. The dude working behind the counter on this day told me it would be $10-$15 to fix it and I was totally ok with that. So I left the $10 deposit and left them my bowl on 9/3/09. He said it would be 10-14 business days and that someone would be contacting me to update me. I called 14 business days later to be told that they "didn't know where my bowl was" and that they were going to research it and call me back. Never got a call back. Called back the next day, but the guy on the other end of the line said that he had just started there and didn't know what to do so he had to call the other shop and that he'd call me back. Again, no call back. Finally after getting no help over the phone I went back into the store only to be told by the guy working that day that he didn't know why the glass was taking so long to get fixed and that their glass fix-it guy is kind of a "flake". SWEET! so I gave up! figuring they would call me when they had it. Got a call today 9/26/09 and was told by the girl when I asked how much more I owed to bring in just $5. So, that's what I was planning on paying. I get in there and magically the price changed to $15 instead of $5. $5 and $15 sound NOTHING alike so I know it was not a hearing mistake over the phone. My girlfriend paid the $15 without double checking with me so just a simple fix wound up costing $25. I could have bought a new bowl for that price. They did wind up refunding $5 after I complained, but this is completely unprofessional , a giant hassle to the customers, and I will never be visiting this establishment again. I recommend nobody else go here either. Plenty of other shops in Long Beach with good selection and service to choose from. I'm sick of shady smoke shops looking to make a quick buck. I used to manage a shop and this was not even remotely how we did business with customers we actually wanted to have return. I guess they don't like repeat business. End of story. read more

She was telling me how most of (maybe all) of the items in the store were American-made and she was very professional. lemme start by saying i walked into this shop thanks to a referral from "the lift" up the street..... and i was excited to finally find what i was looking for after visiting 4 other shops and getting nothing but wrong information and faulty defective trash products.... the next day after leaving the store i realized i was overcharged big time..... i'm from orange county and was back at home but when i called in yasmeen listened and completely fixed the problem and reversed the charges over the phone so i didn't have to wait till i could get down there next week..... so impressed with the customer service here on both fixing the mistake as well as while helping me get the things i was looking for and completely educating me and my daughter on care cleaning and use of everything purchased.... the guy with the super long dreads (forgot to ask his name) and yasmeen both went above and beyond.....will definitely b back read more

I went to Rick Wickeds for a glass bowl that had broken. I couldn't remember the size of the downstem, and got a little confused. Yasmine helped me with all of my questions, and even exchanged the bowl after I got home to discover I had the wrong size after all. She was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. i bought a hookah from there a month ago that was broken on the bottom and they tried to fix it by patching it up and didn't tell me and my boyfriend about it. it was working fine until i cleaned it and started drying it and noticed it was dripping on the bottom, that's when we noticed the stupid ugly patch and crack. we tried to return it but they wouldn't take it back because it had been 30 days and its used. well maybe you guys shouldn't sell defected products in the first place assholes. never going back here again bad customer service and wack products. im super pissed read more
