We had dinner last night at Ricky's and Stephanie was our waitress. we had SUCH A great time, everything was spot on! Seemed like they had new staff and everyone had a "pep in their step"!!! Service was amazing and the food was the best we've had !!! We both tried something new - My husband had the Shrimp with Linguine in a butter garlic sauce and I had the country fried steak! Stopped by Ricky's of Hollywood while I was in the area and hungry, and I'm glad I did. They say they have some of the best wings in town, and I have to agree. I ordered the lemon pepper wings well done with curly fries, and they were perfectly cooked and really flavorful. You can tell this is a spot that locals and regulars love. The staff and guests seemed to know each other, which gave the place a laid-back, neighborhood vibe. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing place, but it's comfortable and casual. They also had a basketball game on TV, which added to the relaxed sports bar atmosphere. My server Edwin was fantastic. He was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed the entire time. This is one of my local spots I like to come to. Allen at the bar always has very good service and is quick with a joke! Tina is also friendly waitress tending the tables. Parking is in the rear with a small walk in. Different evenings they have dinners on special. Weekends they have there lobster which I've seen a lot of folks buying. I've wanted to try their French onion soup and wings as I heard they were so good . First when we walked in and sat down no one acknowledged us . After a half hour I asked someone cleaning a table for menus. 20 minutes later I asked if we could see our server to order. No customer service . You can also get them naked (un-breaded) and a variety of flavors. I've also enjoyed their burgers and Philly cheesesteak sandwich in the past. Ask about their specials. They have an assortment of excellent appetizers. If you like seafood, there are good options in that category too. Atmosphere is friendly and casual. I sat at the bar and chatted a bit. As social as you want it to be, depending on your mood. Allen, the masterful bartender, mixed a wide array of fancy drinks to complement the assortment of beers. I think that I'm a great judge of Buffalo style wings and Rickey's are by far the closest that I've had outside of Buffalo. Even their Blue cheese dressing is on point! The service is always an A+ with a friendly staff. I always ask to have them fry my wings a little longer because I like them really crispy. Which they do to perfection every time. They also have different flavors for the wings which I've never tried. Unlimited free self served freshly cooked popcorn by the bowl. There is also daily drink and food specials with one of them being whole twin lobsters dinners with the fixin's. There's a few video games as well as crayon's with the kiddie menu's to keep the kids occupied. The place itself has been around since the 50's but has been updated several times over the years. Parking can sometimes be hectic but worth it though. There's a huge bar in the center with seats all the way around it. It's always a bunch of regulars there so you get that Cheer's feeling upon entering. Booths line the walls with a few long tables in the middle. They no longer have the best wings in Broward County, that title goes to both Jose Uncle Al's in Sunrise and Antonio's in Hollywood, way, way better flavor and they are bigger and meaty. Had a great dinner out with my girls.Rickeys has happy hour 7 days a week! Had a draught beer to start. I saw an ad for their lobster special. Two 1+1/4 lb lobsters with 1 side for $39.95. The lobsters were big & I shared with a friend. The lobster was very fresh & sweet. My friends enjoyed their food & drinks too. Service was good. It's kinda noisy & very lively so it was hard to talk to the people at my table but it was a fun evening. Prices for the regular menu items are fair. We plan on returning soon read more

Rickey's has been around since 1955 so they must be doing something right! It's definitely a neighborhood bar where lots of regulars hang out and many patrons know each other and live or work nearby. They have seating all around and a large bar right in the center of the restaurant. The walls are full with sports memorabilia, beer signs, and bar-themed signs. It's kind of dated with lots of wood all around. It's also kind of dark. They do have a full bar and a really extensive menu. Their specialty is chicken wings and they have an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entree dishes. They also have a list of daily specials every day. Prices are reasonable. I went on a Monday afternoon at around 1:30 and a good portion of the restaurant and bar seating was full. Our server was super friendly and she knew the menu well. (She also seemed to know many of the regular customers.) I ordered a turkey melt with fries and asked if I could switch it from white bread to rye. It was good; but nothing special. The sandwich was kind of thin. The fries were nice and crispy though. One of my friends had a grilled cheese with added bacon and another friend had the wings. Both liked their meals, but again, nothing spectacular. Rickey's has plenty of parking and and seating. I think this would be a great place for a family meal or to watch sports if you live in the area; but I wouldn't make a special trip to go there. read more

Surprisingly good food for a bar and it's reasonable priced. The service fast and friendly. They have a pretty good selection of beers, but it would be nice if they had a few more local craft beers. There are plenty of TV's and you should be able to find something you'd like to watch. I'm sure my wife and I will make it a point to eat here more often. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. It looked unassuming from the outside. On the inside, it was paaaaaaacked. There wasn't a single seat available at the bar. Fortunately, there were tables open. With it being as busy as it was, I expected it to take forever for a server to arrive. Low and behold, service was incredibly fast. Our server, Carol, was on it! We had food and drinks in no time. Everyone was very nice, when we walked in there was a big sign saying seat yourself and we waited about 5 minutes for a waitress which was not bad at all. Their menu is an average bar menu wings, burgers and sandwiches along with occasional fried fish. The bar didn't have any open seats and there were a few open tables and it wasn't too loud which I was expecting from a bar. I imagine it gets loud when there's a game on though. I took my work team to Ricky's for lunch since a few of my co-workers used to frequent this location when they attended Chaminade. You sit yourself, and then a waiter will tend to you. We sat pretty close to the bar and were greeted and tended to immediately. The waitress was friendly and took all of our orders. Most of us ordered chicken wings with fries. One of my co-workers ordered fish and chips, and another ordered a burger. The wings were perfect and came with a multitude of different sauces. I ordered some sweet potato fries that were very good and well-cooked. Overall, the vibe inside is pretty laidback and feels nostalgic, even though this was my first time coming here. It's hot, you're running errands, you've been standing in lines everywhere, you've been sitting at the doctors office well past your appointment time and you just want to chill in a cold bar. Meet Rickey's. Staff is great and quick. Bar is clean and has plenty of seating in a nice, dark, cool establishment. Sit and have a beer, some wings and forget the nightmare at the doctor's office. Sucks when your appt was at 1 and you don't see the doctor until 2:30 and she only sits with you for 8 minutes. You can forget your frustration just by sitting in Rickey's, having a cold beer and good wings. They have really good lunch specials. I noticed a table near me had ordered half sandwiches with a bowl of something.. soup? Salad? No clue, but it looked like plenty of food. Last visit, we ordered wings, dolphin (mahi mahi to tourists) sandwich, chicken pasta, and beer. Everything was perfect and I totally forgot about my miserable doctor's visit. If you want more dressing, more iced tea, more something or other - the waitstaff is completely accommodating and quick. No hassles. No arguing about paying extra, no waiting and waiting for the extra dressing to arrive. This has been my go to bar food for many decades. Been going here since the 1980's.. I will continue to spend my money here when I want to eat a good meal, socialize with my dining partner (I can hear them perfectly, over the table) and just be a family run establishment that cares about their patrons. 10 stars..
