Absolutely loved my experience with Rick's! Had a small dent in my bumper, he worked with my insurance and was an excellent communicator with me about the cost and timeline for repairs. When I picked up my car not only was I so excited to see the new bumper looking all fresh but his team vacuumed and detailed my car! From the first time I walked through the door I new I had chosen the right place! Very clean including the area where work on the cars is done. Then there's the service very friendly and explanation of what was going to be done was explained very well. The front office is great very welcoming . This place is other-worldly!...after getting rear-ended, I initially went to another body shop which was close to me and which I was very familiar with, but it had recently been acquired by a national chain. They would not work with my insurance company to come up with an estimate which was acceptable to all parties. It put me in a bad situation where I would have to pay out-of-pocket. Then I shopped around and found Rick's. They were a bit out of the way from me but it was worth it. Clark and Damien are nothing short of amazing. They really know their business. Damien at Rick's Body Shop does beautiful detailing, made my car shine after it was stolen and abused by nasty people in San Francisco before getting it back. BUT....... His judgment on things mechanical sucks. He farmed my car out to a mechanic at a transmission shop for the safety inspection part of the repairs and billed my insurance for it. The transmission mechanic put in a new CV-joint that the mechanic obviously did not know how to do. The new Napa part was battered when it was put in, obvious dents on the inner side of the joint and leaking fluid when a couple months later it was up on a lift at a shop after I was stranded in Auburn, CA overnight. It was an18-hour ordeal until I could get a ride home, with another 2-hr trip to and from Auburn after the weekend to pick up my car after the repair of the "new" CV joint cost me over $1000!!! I was lucky it did not go out even a half hour later high in the Sierras at 11pm at night! Damien told me I could maybe get a refund on the Napa part, but he offered no help to get that. I have no idea how to contact the mechanic, spent over $1000 getting another new CV joint. I lost over 3 days with travel to and from Auburn. I'm still upset when I think of it. read more

This place is awesome! I stopped by to get an estimate and Damien was friendly and very helpful. He sat me down and took the time to print out my estimate so I could have a copy. I told him I wasn't quite ready to get my repair done. There was no pressure from him as he told me just to drop my truck off whenever I was ready. I couldn't believe the price. I was expecting to have to pay $1200 but they only charged me $295 for bumper repair. About a week later, I dropped my truck off and it was repaired quickly. Talk about trying to get over on a woman. I thought the man running the business Damien (there is no Rick) was a nice guy but he is a Copperhawk looking to take your money. I got an estimate for $658.00 for him to fix the hinge on my back hatch, of that amount $458 was unnecessary labor and the parts were $72.56 ( for 2 and I only needed 1). I took it to another shop, one that doesn't even do these types of repairs and not only did they order and sell me the part at wholesale cost, they installed it for free. So if you want to be ripped off go to Ricks Auto but if not seek another shop. read more

After checking out BBB ratings, etc. I got 4 estimates & went with Rick's, because it was (to my mind) the most reasonable cost, but also, he because he was flexible about squeezing my small job in without the 3 week wait others indicated. I had a little accident with a bush on the side of the driveway. I was expecting at least $1,400 but to my surprise the price was half of that. The Manager/owner is one of the nicest person you will ever encounter. He treated me right, fix the car and I was a happy camper once again. Rick's Body Shop was started decades ago and even though the shop has been owned by several people, Damien owns it now and his father before him. Damien is a nice person who knows the business inside and out. His work is better than shops that charge 50% more. Also, he explains things clearly. Also unlike some other shops he is down to earth and genial. I have used his services for many years and would not consider using any other else in Sacramento. I have owned cars for over 50 years and he is the best at bodywork I have used in 5 states. I do exclude the specialty shops that repair concourse de elegance cars and charge hundreds of thousand dollars. I have no doubt he has the skill level but he is solid guy who does great work at a more than fair price. This glowing review is well justified. SIMPLY THEEE BEST!!! My Acura TL is my life and when I scratched the rear end of the bumper while backing out from my garage I literally died seeing the damage. I called and without any appointments needed I was able to walked in and with in a few minutes they took my keys drove my car in the back and after just 10 mins I was speechless. I rarely leave Yelp reviews but had to log in to review Rick's Body Shop. This place really goes above and beyond. I came in with a dented hood from an accident and had been quoted $900-1500 elsewhere. Rick's was the only place that took the time to find a used hood and other parts to bring the costs down to $400!! They saved me $500 and were incredibly friendly and professional. They even washed my car for me! The person who helped me -- Damien -- provided such great service I had to share and review. read more

Summary - very up front and honest, extremely reasonable in terms of price (definitely provided premium service at a low rate), with great customer service. I was very satisfied with the work I had done by Rick's Body Shop. I got estimates from several of the auto body places along Auburn Blvd and most of the others tried to upsell me on everything. Damien (who works at Rick's) did the complete opposite - he really made an effort to figure out all of my options to keep my costs down (resulting in the lowest price out of all of the other places). And he was much more upfront and honest about everything. When they did the repair (replacement of an air sensor and some other stuff I had torn out from under the front bumper area of my BMW) and they actually removed the bumper they noticed I had torn out some additional parts. I was pretty worried at that point that it would really bump up the bill, but not only did they give me all of the extra parts at cost, they didn't charge me for any of the time they spent researching and working out what all was missing/the mess I had made of it. I also had to come back, since they had to order the other parts (my first appt. was for a Friday afternoon so they wouldn't be able to get them that day), and even though they had to take it all apart twice, that was not reflected in the bill (the billed amount of labor time was extremely low for the actual timed amount of effort I know they put in). Some other positive things to note: they offered me rides (local, short distances, but still, very nice); the second day my friend followed me to take me back to work - he had been experiencing some problems with his headlights and Damien came out and spent a good 10-15 minutes checking out the problem and giving my friend instructions on how he could fix it so he wouldn't have to go get it done somewhere; they offered me cookies (Girl Scout, no less!) and water when I was waiting (in their very clean and nice waiting room, a far cry from most mechanic/body shops I've been to); they washed my car for me; my bumper had been detaching slightly from one side of the car (apparently the previous owner had attempted to screw it on with a bolt??) - they replaced the clips and fixed that for free. Overall, great experience. If I ever have a problem with my car that they can handle, I will definitely be taking it back to Rick's - awesome work, great customer service, and very fair pricing. read more
