Hired Ricks Main Roofing in 2024 and we have regretted it ever since. The poor quality of the work resulted in numerous issues that required correction and replacement of various parts of the roofing. Getting them to respond to improper work is a huge challenge. Over this winter, we had a serious problem of ice damming and water pouring into our family room, causing thousands of dollars in interior damage Rick's office staff is courteous and friendly, but that's where it ends. The owner, Rick, is a no show and his field manager is great at pretending to care. Lots of broken promises Without constant calls and continual badgering, you will get nowhere when it comes to them honoring their labor warranty. Among all of the other false assurances, we were told multiple times that they would contact GAF, the manufacturer of the roofing materials on-site inspection of their roofing job. That never happened. Here are some pictures of the water leaks and damage from last winter. Don't fall for the promises. Awful roofing company - do not use them. we paid $38,000.00 for a new roof 2 years ago that was guaranteed not to water dam and of course it did. They refuse to fix the damage and they actually came today after 6 months of calling them and they wouldn't even go on the roof, that they installed, to see what the issue is to be corrected. We will be filing claims with the state, our town, the BBB, GAF, and taking legal action. Please save your self the grief of using these guys and find another roofer. read more

I was surprised to see some of the older negative reviews for Rick's Roofing. My experience with them has been entirely positive. Pete spent more time with us than any other contractor and provided a very reasonable quote back in May, which he honored when we decided to move forward in October. The crew arrived promptly, worked efficiently with up to five men on the job, and completed the roof in just three days. The result looks excellent -- including the copper chimney flashing. While it's too soon to judge long-term performance, the roof is backed by what appears to be a solid GAF warranty, and overall, we're very satisfied. read more

Oh my goodness, we thought we knew about all the problems left behind from this company, only to find out recently that a new roof they installed was horribly done and another project related to the roof was inappropriately done, leading to all kinds of expensive errors to fix. Don't look any further than Rick's Main Roofing. They were very professional. They cleaned up like they weren't even there and they worked until the job was completed. Their estimate was the best out of 3 other roofers and they use GAF standards which some companies don't have. Ask for Lou DiLembo. I was very happy with Rick's Main Roofing Services their team did a great job of removing some sky lights & then putting roofing back in its place ,On my Victoria home. My roof was damaged in the March 2018 Noreaster storm. I called Rick's for a quote since they had put the roof on my house (for a previous owner) in 2008. It took two weeks for a estimator to get onsite, and then I waited for the quote...I called and emailed...the estimator stated first that he needed more measurements, then more pictures, then he said his boss was on vacation and needed to approve the quote. Then I called the main office and they apologized and said they would send someone else out. Then they said they needed more time. After wasting five weeks on this company I went with the original contractor that came out the day of the storm to put tarp on my damaged roof where the tree had penetrated it and they had the work done in ONE DAY. They replaced my entire roof, shingles, plywood, and some of the supporting struts start to finish with spotless cleanup in ONE DAY. I would advise steering clear of Rick's Main Roofing and using the vendor I did, Lecla Home Improvements. They not only got me a prompt bid that was lower than anyone else they did it quickly and got the work completed quickly and done properly. read more

We needed a damaged gutter repaired (a corner miter damaged by a service truck) and also had some concerns about roof leaking. Lisa at Rick's Main Roofing was wonderful and set us up with a visit the next day. Our gutter was repaired and roof concerns all addressed within a week at a very reasonable cost - in fact they rolled the cost of the gutter repair into a "roof tune-up" which was needed. We got great feedback about our roof concerns, including photos of problem areas so we could understand what is going on up there. Very professional and a great experience. We will definitely call them first when we need a new roof in a few years! read more

I'm not one to write many online reviews. Further, as a small business owner myself, I understand that not every experience can be perfect. However, I feel compelled to warn people away from this company. I had to them do a flat roof for me about 7-8 years ago. I've had at least 10 leaks. Recently, we had a heavy rainstorm and water starting leaking through the top of one of my windows. Pulled the drywall off above and found soaking wet and rotted out framing. It had been a slow leak for years evidently. My experience throughout the years with the owner has been terrible. After install, found out they completely subbed it out, no supervision like a previous reviewer stated. Early on, they sent out the sub (apparently at his own expense) and all he did was make up excuses, blame Rick for being cheap, then try to use calk (EPDM lap cement to be more specific) everywhere. Had a bubble form in the EPDM the size of a beach ball and they tried to blame me (you know, I must have climbed up and pulled up the EPDM and put some sort of chemical down, then glued the EPDM back down). They tried blaming wild animals for a tear, which the manufacturer laughed at. Didn't seal at the overlap of the dripedge, the overlap separated and water got in. EVERY single penetration has leaked. I'm not exaggerating - I've had flowing water coming through my ceiling on multiple occasions. On and on. Warranty ran out a few years ago and I now have to keep it patched up. RESPONSE TO RICK: 1. The crew of guys told me on multiple occasions they were subcontractors. There was a head guy and all of the other workers worked for him, as he told me. In fact, your salesperson admitted that several of the crew were new and inexperienced, contributing to the issues. 2. The portion of the house you did the roofing on was added on in 1993. Is that "very old?" 3. I took a picture of the tears and sent them to EPI. Customer service laughed at what you told me. In fact, if you remember, they sent a regional manager out and forced you to address a number of issues. 2ND RESPONSE TO RICK: 1. Haha. Ironically, the one area of the roof that has been solid is the roof-to-wall transition between the new and old portions of house. Not a single issue there. This also reminds me that I did not mention my very first issue with your work - you removed 2-3 rows of clapboard to run the EPDM up the wall and just left the old torn up (which your crew tore up) copper flashing hanging off the side of my house. Also, you didn't replace the clapboard. I've told the story to several contractors and roofers over the years and they've all said that repairing the siding should have been included in the bid. 2. All I can go by is what your guy told me. He said he was a sub when he did the original work and then complained mightily when he had to come back to fix the first round of issues, again stating that he wasn't being paid for the repairs since he was a sub. 3. We specifically discussed animals tearing up the roof. The absence of scratches and bite marks led RPI to believe that it was not an animal as the culprit. It appeared to be clean tears in the EPDM. This, along with the bubble, led them to believe that you perhaps spilled something on the underlayment which reacted with the EPDM/EPDM glue, since they were in the same area. read more

Rick's response is laughable....obviously his warranty means nothing. He took off my gutters which were properly installed a couple of years prior to the new roof and didn't reinstall them correctly. Since he had been paid in full, he had no incentive to return. It's as simple as that. Is anyone else tired of being ripped off by these unscrupulous people? read more

Filled out the online information form requesting Rick's to provide a quote for a new roof on our home. A week later I finally received a call today... from an operator and she actually asked this question..."are you all set with you roofing needs?" Of course! After a week I had multiple quotes from other companies and our roofing issues are under control, under contract and ready to go to work. I live in Norwalk and this company based in Norwalk so I wanted to give my business to a local business. Good news is I did give the business to local company but not this one. Not sure what the issue is other than their current business is good, no need to actually look at their own website request forms to fill in the pipeline. Disappointing! read more

Rick's Main Roofing did a phenomenal job on our new roof - it is a high-end GAF architectural roof, with copper flashing and brand new 5" gutters. The roof is the first thing you see on our house since the pitch is quite extreme. It is gorgeous. We get compliments on it all the time - and of particular note is the copper work they did on the chimney and valleys - the Craftsmanship is stunning. I've never seen a team work harder to earn my trust and confidence. Working with Bill Eleck as the project manager was the key to our successful project. He answered all of our questions every step of the way and insured we were happy with the final result. I always hire local craftsman and will continue to do so.
