Such a great place. I bought a charcoal bbq and the charcoal grate that came with the bbq had a raised center channel down the middle of the grate that I wanted removed. Ryan from Ricks welding took care of a leaking stainless steel water tank for me. I originally had the tank manufactured up north as part of a camping trailer and when I tested the tank, it leaked. It was never properly welded. I took the tank down to Ricks welding, showed Ryan and he said he could get it fixed for me. His price was reasonable and most importantly, he was able to weld the seams so that it no longer leaked. Great job guys! read more

Missed commitments and blames customer! Ryan, your reply reinforces my points of lack of integrity. 1. "... a job that you didn't even have dimensions..." False. You have in your e-mail a document named, "front hub mill spec". We reviewed it and was exactly what you needed. You repeated back to me for verification. 2. I initially said 4-5 days lead time from the very beginning and today was the fifth day... False. You fabricated this story the day I came to pick up my parts. (eight calendar days later) 3. You called a few times a day every single day for five days asking if it would be done....and was very adamant about a quick turnaround when there's a line of other people that came in with jobs before you and obviously have priority over you... Ryan, I called once on each day YOU SAID the job would be done. I can only go on your word which you obviously don't like being held accountable to. 4. Sorry I broke that commitment just because you wouldn't accept a 4-5 day lead time from the very beginning False. See #2. You're making this up now for your convenience. If you really said 4-5 (like a professional should), I would have thanked you for your time and found another machinist. 5. I wasn't able to come in on my day off to do your job instead of the other jobs that people have been patiently waiting on and brought their job in before you. Ryan, you offered, I DID NOT ASK. Bringing it up now just continues your pattern of nonsense versus facts. 6. I really have no idea why you would leave such a long, horrible, and exaggerated review especially because from the beginning you were told 4-5 days. False. See #2. The horrible review is for horrible customer service and wasting my time. I'm sharing my experience 7. If you look at all our other reviews and previous work fabricated, you'll realize you're in the 1% that have had a bad experience with us... Wrong again. 3 negative reviews out of 18 is 17%. 8. - On top of that, with no prints provided we usually don't even accept the job as well... Again, make up all the fiction you want. There was a specification drawing, and you accepted the job. The time to reject it was last week, not now after you handled it so poorly. ORIGINAL REVIEW I contacted Rick's Welding and spoke to Ryan about a low-tolerance lathe cut on two wheel spacers. We discussed the job on the phone, and I then brought the spacers to him. We agreed it was a simple job, probably less than an hour to machine the two spacers. This was last Thursday and Ryan committed I could pick them up on Friday. Quick turn-around was important, as my car was out of commission. On Friday Ryan called me and apologetically said he was not able get to my job; however, was coming in on Saturday morning and would complete it and give me a call. I understand things happen; however, he did not call Saturday and there was no answer when I called. Missed commitments #1 and #2. Ryan called Monday evening again apologizing and again committing to have the work complete on Tuesday. I did not hear from Ryan on Tuesday even after calling and leaving a message asking for a callback. Missed commitment #3. I called again on Wednesday morning at 10:45 AM, but only got voice mail. Ryan left me a voice message later Wednesday afternoon around 2:00 PM with a long-winded excuse explaining why the job wasn't done. He committed he would do it that evening and have it ready for me Thursday morning. It has been a week now that my car has been out of commission while I waited on Rick's Welding. I called Thursday morning around 10:30 AM, no answer just voice mail. I did not receive a callback, so I called again after 3:30 PM in the afternoon. I spoke to a person who told me Ryan could not take my call. I asked the person to ask Ryan if my job was done. When they returned to the phone I heard a flurry of excuses that equated to "no". Missed commitment #4. Giving up at this point, I went to Rick's Welding Thursday evening to pick up my parts. Ryan met me and delivered a cadre of reasons why he was too busy to do my 1-hour job after eight days. I asked why other customers' jobs took higher priority causing him to miss his commitments? Ryan decided to blame me by saying he would not have made the initial commitment had I not asked him for it. My response was that he owned the commitment, not me, so he owned meeting the commitment, not me. He went on to say if I could not just leave the parts with him for 4-5 days, then he really could not complete my job. When I pointed out it had been eight days, he responded that it had to be 4-5 "business days". I then pointed out it had been that as well and requested my parts back so I could be on my way. Bottom line, I would not recommend you do business with Rick's Welding unless you do not care about an organization with integrity and that can their commitments. Or if you do not mind working for them on their schedule rather than them working for you as the customer read more

Last summer, I bought this sectional dining set for my patio. I loved it but the design of arm rest on either end made it difficult to get in and out without moving the table. Because of the umbrella and heavy base, moving the table was not an easy option. I considered getting rid of the set and buying a new one but started thinking about the possibility of finding a welder who could change the arm rest. So this morning I googled "best welders in Torrance" and Rick's Welding popped up. Via email, I sent him a picture of what the arm rest looked like and then I drew what I thought I would like it change to. He told me to bring the pieces over to his shop. We met a couple hours later, discussed the options and he gave me a quote. It seemed quite reasonable and he was so easy to work with. He told me it might take a couple days but he would call me when it was ready. Well imagine how surprised I was when he called me a couple hours later to say the job was done! As it turned out, I happened to pop in on a day where they had some free time. So I went back to pick up the pieces a few hours later and was thrilled with the outcome. In response to what Rick said in regards to my review "which was 4.5 years ago." I am 5'11, not 6'8. I have won multiple class championships as well as a track record holder on the very bike he says is too small for me (this is a production Suzuki 650). Either he has his customers mixed up, or he thinks 5'11 is too tall for a production street bike. My review still stands, Ricks is an avg. shop. I can however recommend Famart Welding in Lomita. The guys have helped me a handful of times since my visit to Ricks and have done so in the way I would expect. No "standard pricing," they base their estimates on the job being done. Crashes happen and the same weld that Rick had done snapped (I'm not faulting Rick). Famart welded the same area for $30 and even threw a coat of black paint on it for me. Rick, this is constructive criticism. Adjust business practices as you feel fit... or don't. read more

I told him exactly how I wanted it welded in and he did exactly that. He charged me $50 for the job and I was totally satisfied with that because of the quality of work. Failed to get size right with the template and specific instructions to take an 1/8th off the edge. go for adjustment. Call to pick up. "Thats $40 or I keep it". This guy is a skunk.
