I've been to Rico Chow a bunch of times and I can say without a doubt the food and service here is incredible! The owners are extremely active in the local community which is nice. The food is bursting with flavor. The Hispanic Asian fusion is a refreshing change to the areas culinary scene. The location is small but welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend the Korean Loaded Fries!

Wow! A coworker told me about their mofungo, and it does not disappoint! Overall, it's a hip little hole in the wall with sizeable portions, fairly quick service, and damn good flavors. I can't say that any of its healthy but damn is it tasty. Moreover, the fusion pairings keep it interesting. There's an interesting crowd at nights due to the nearby package store, but if that sort of thing deters you, they do delivery as well!

On a road trip and we came across this place and all I can say is, don't miss out on this spot! Omg, everything about this place is a YES! The people are so kind and friendly and gave us great recommendations and man were they on point! I don't remember what my husbands plate was but mine was pastelon with mofungo even my salad was bomb. Thanks Carlitos for your hospitality. I'll definitely be back I've I'm ever here again!

The menu might be a little confusion at first. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the loaded fries but the sauce was too sweet for my taste. I would give the food 3.5 star but the service was good.

A fun little find along our road trip north. Asian/Puerto Rican fusion menu. Loved the mix of the two and everything is made fresh to order with amazingly fresh ingredients. We didn't leave hungry, that's for sure. Staff was super friendly and brought the food to our table. I was a little taken back in the prices but I suppose that is just how things are these days. If you don't mind a bit of a wait, the food is good.

Whenever I get the chance to eat Mofongo I jump at it. Rico Chow is a Puerto Rican - Asian fusion restaurant. Combining Chinese and Korean staples such as Fried Rice and Bulgolgi with Puerto Rican dishes results in a fantastic combination of flavor. The meal I had was Crispy Fried Chicken on a bed of fries with a side order of Mofongo. The chicken were small pieces of chicken that was cooked to perfection with a tomato based dipping sauce. In my opinion though the star was the Mofongo. It was the right consistency - chunky with pieces of plantains and not overly seasoned. There is so much more to try on the menu and I will be going back!

The chicken seems to have been marinated in baking soda to ensure it's that soft. We loved this dish. **curry noodle soup- 4/5- we got two versions of this. One with the original thick udon noodle and the other with thin rice noodles. The udon noodle version reigned supreme. The curry in this case was similar to the Thai coconut curry style. **chicken ramen-3.5/5- it lacked a depth of flavor in the broth though on the surface it had all the makings of a good bowl of ramen. **veggie gyoza-4.5/5- the filling was flavorful. Doused in their sauce, it was delicious. **thai fried rice with chicken- 4.5/5- rice was moist and umami rich. Chicken was soft. Though it was not pineapple fried rice, they had pieces of pineapple as well. Though I am not a fan of fruit in my fried rice, it was surprisingly delectable. We read later that the place is actually run by a Chinese family. They make Japanese food as their kids love the cuisine. They also have a lot of boba based drinks. We got a couple of varieties, family loved them, for me they were too sweet.

The menu had a little bit of everything ranging from Thai to sushi to Vietnamese, a very fusion type feel to it. The service was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Three items were ordered and tried. They consisted of the sushi nachos ($14.95), bao buns with chicken katsu ($12.95) and the Mystic River roll ($19.95). The nachos had diced tuna, sliced avocado, Pico de Gallo, topped with spicy avocado sauce and tobiko and served over fried wonton skins. There was a nice portion here. I thought they were going to be small wontons, but this was a pleasant surprise. There was a great ratio of flavors, and I really enjoyed the small dicing of everything. The bao buns were topped with sliced cucumbers, spring onions, carrots, and some type of sweet hoisin sauce it appeared. The chicken was very crispy and tasty. The bun was okay. It was a little tough. I did enjoy the sweet factor from the sauce to pair with the hot and crunchy chicken. The Mystic River roll had tuna, salmon, mango, as well as avocado topped with spicy mayo and was wrapped in a rice wrapper. This was alright. There was a lot of mayo present, which took away from the fish flavor, but it still was not bad. The rice wrapper was an interesting choice, but overall, okay. Will I go back? Probably.

I drove past it the first time, but the exterior is intriguing, with waterfalls and small ponds with koi fish out front that caught my attention on the second pass. The interior is large and classically decorated, the kind of dining room that was built to handle volume without feeling like a cafeteria. I noticed the koi fish out front have a quarter machine nearby that dispenses food, a small detail that tends to land well if you are visiting with kids. The overall setup is comfortable and well maintained, and the space gave the restaurant a presence that most Chinese restaurants in the area do not match. The dim sum is the main draw, and it is served until 3pm, so timing my visit accordingly was important. I ordered the har gow and shumai, both well executed and holding up against what I have found at comparable restaurants in Boston or New York. The chili oil is good and worth using liberally. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was a standout and worth ordering on its own. For those coming outside dim sum hours, the full menu covers a solid range of Cantonese dishes. I also tried the fried rice, salt and pepper squid, and chow fun, all of which performed well. The portions throughout were generous enough that ordering with a group and sharing made the most sense. On quieter days, the food quality is noticeably more consistent, which I experienced during my visit. For good dim sum in Connecticut and a Cantonese dining room that takes the food seriously, Oriental Bar and Grill is worth the effort of finding.

For a lunch special we ordered general tso and sesame chicken which were both crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated with a generous amount of sauce. The lunch special comes with a choice of soup. My kids chose the egg drop soup and I chose the hot and sour soup. Both soups were good. Why not 5 star? I thought the bathroom could use some improvement? At first my wife said it smelled like poop, and I really thought it was just her thinking that. Keep in mind that its 2 bathrooms, one for the ladies and one for the gents. When I stepped into the restroom for men, I immediately was overtaken by the smell of poop. They need to improve their ventilation system and also put in some air freshener. If it weren't for the bathroom issue, I'd definitely rate this place 5 stars. Food was amazing, would definitely come here again.
