sultan b eating this kebab UP!! it is so yummy. food is 10/10 no matter what you order (except…read moredesserts). service is quick and lines are longer than my dead fried hair. it was pretty affordable (what even is affordable in the bay) but idk because other people paid for my meal since i'm broke! yay! location - pretty easy to find its in like a business plaza thing. they have indoor and outdoor seating but i hate sitting outdoors because the wind blows my hair into the food and then i eat my hair ew food - my group tried the flatbread and dip platter thing as well as the chicken shawarma, falafel, kebab, and lamb. all stunners no suckers. portions not bad the rice is amazing i'm pretty sure they cook it in some sort of stock, it's very aromatic. salad is great, i love chewing on raw green stalks like a cow 10/10 flatbread is okay, a bit doughy and not as puffy/light as i prefer. also on the sweeter side and does not seem to be made fresh to order but i personally don't care. i am here for the protein 7/10 meats were supermazingtacular! doused in flavor, tender, juicy. lamb shawarma does not have that despicable slightly irony lamb taste! that is a win in my book! chicken shawarma is awesome and kebab is very well seasoned. i think everything here is probably drowned in sumac or SOMETHING idk it is so addictive and i ate a lot 10/10 falafel is also good, soft inside, crispy outside, not grainy. great with their slightly average flatbread and hummus 9/10 SPEAKING OF HUMMUS yum!!! super smooth and refreshing. i do like their baba ghanoush more tho. dips are all great! 9/10 we also tried some desserts which...no comment (in a bad way sorry guys). i am not taking away a star because i am a nice funny person but hot damn these were sweet. at the first bite my tastebuds rolled back to diabetes. why are these so sickeningly sweet like they would taste so much better lightly sweetened. or maybe we got the wrong desserts idk...we got the coconut/pomegranate dessert, chocolate/pistachio, burma/pistachio, and the nice guy added a few of the tulumba things (i think?). all of them had amazing flavors that were overpowered by the sugar content. the burma thing was my favorite just because it was the least sweet and i suspected some cardamom which is yum 6/10 service/ambiance - service is great very efficient, lots of seating, cute rainbow umbrellas hanging upside down on the ceiling. what more could you ask for (besides more money) 10/10 anyway worth a visit but if you want dessert just ask them for their less sweet ones. or maybe don't. maybe some people want to inhale sugar and you know what...you do you girliepop!

Great food, for the kebab lovers…read more I like the combo shish plate. Their meats are so good. It's nicely charred and still tender. The beef and chicken were both excellent. Great flavors. I enjoyed both. With it comes a lot of things- the pita was soft and fluffy. It paired nicely with the creamy and garlicy hummus. So smooth. Like butter. The salad had a nice burst of acidity to it and was very refreshing to eat. Good seasoning/dressing. There was also a yogurt sauce on the side which was delicious. Tangy. The rice was fluffy and soft. It was so much food! Great deal imo.

I've been meaning to try the one in Pleasanton forever ago, but I stumbled onto this newer location…read morein Livermore so here we are. Looks like it took over the old Harry's Hofbrau space except they turned that massive space into 2 units now, as the days of massive dining halls are starting to become a rarity. Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

First time here and it was a great surprise…read more The food was amazing as well as the service. Best fresh baked bread, delicious Sangria. The entrees were freshly made: chicken kabob with pilaf rice and seasoned veggies. The shrimp and scallop fettuccine with sun dried tomatoes was amazing.

Bites: Char-Grilled Octopus (24.75) -O tender & juicy pieces, unlike a similar dry dish @Bodrum, accompanied by red onion slices, tomato ovals in a mini pool of olive oil, green dry seasonings +?. Deliz it was. Comped tasty baked biscuit with intriguing dip made from extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, balsamic vinegar + ? . Tipping in O sauce an option. Fried Calamari (18) -asked server if batter was similar to "hard" Italian version. Assured it wasn't. -calamari was moist, semi-juicy. Had slight sweetness. Batter definitely not "hard". It fell off the calamari easily. Batter not the "panko" type. Probably a thin batter made with less flour, more water/liquid. Much better than "hard" batter. 4.5 stars Worthy! Quality: artisanal ingredients. Quantity: reasonable. Would repeat if I find some fish entrees suitable.
