Food is not good here. They had chile en ahogada. They are not the original from Pueblo. Plus they add pine nuts. The Rice tasted old and the beans where dried. We drove over 1 hour for this place and not worth the drive plus they took too long to bring out order. read more

Food was basic really had no flavor. Service was very slow. There was one other couple when we got there. So they were not busy at all. We had to ask for the tortillas that came with the meals. We had to ask for our check and it took 15 min just to get. We will not be back. read more

Found this place as we were driving into Modesto. They had great customer service and they brought our food very quick. We also got chips, salsa, and cabbage salsa as we ordered our food. We ordered menudo, chicken, Milanesa, and a kids steak platter. We enjoyed the menudo but the Milanesa lacked flavor and the side salsa that came with it had no spice or flavor. The kids steak platter is really just taco meat ....carne asada pieces. Overall good experience and clean restaurant and bathrooms. read more

I can taste the heat in the meat when you just bite into it and taste all the flavors. I feel like i'm low key a girl version of chef ramsey and I say I give the burritos a FIVE STAR! The food also comes with complementary chips and salsa. The chips are ehhhhh, so-so. The salsa is really good and definitely has a spicey kick to it. If you cant hands spicey stuff too much don't get the salsa. So obviously, food wise it's a A+++ but, the customer service wise, it could be better. We've eaten here a few times. The first time was the best time but it wasn't great or anything. Lagos is okay. They're not consistent with the streak meat and most of the time its too much fat in it. They've screw up our orders on 2 to 3 different occasions. When the meat is on point and the order is exactly how we ordered it it makes for a good experience. When we come here, we really have to be craving something specifically on their menu and or don't want to drive far. Otherwise we don't come here as often anymore. We come from the East Bay, San Francisco where Mexican food is ALOT BETTER than it is out here. We've came to the realization that we're not going to find a great 1 out here. read more

Service was fast, but we got here before the Friday dinner rush. Still, watching everyone, service was still really good. The horchata was very good. Normally you get a powder aftertaste from most Mexican places, but this one was so smooth and treated great. No chlorine flavors in the ice! I ordered the wet burrito which came with grilled chicken. Not dry at all. Very good. The green sauce was a bit tart but still complemented the plate. Guacamole was a let down. Must have been put in a blender or food processor because it had to much air in it (for the true Foodies, you'll know what that means for those who are wondering what I mean, when you blend something too much it puts too much air into the product and it comes out wrong). The shrimp taco was really good because the shrimp are still whole and plentiful. It could use a little bit of sauce, but overall the taste was there. My friend ordered fajitas and I order 2 tacos. The food was good but my experience was unpleasant. The cooks seem kind but the cashier/woman who took my order seemed frustrated. I am Hispanic and I am very picky with which Mexican food.. I've been trying to find a good Mexican place in Ceres and options are limited since it's such a small town.. The last one I went to was El Rosal a couple years ago and never went back after seeing a roach crawl on the wall behind my head while eating. Any how, back to this little treat. It's not a very big place. Prices are great, food comes out in a timely manner and to top it off, it tastes great! Sometimes when I order carnitas at other restaurants I can taste that they have been frozen and here I did not taste that. I got the super burrito and trust me, it is HUGE, I could only eat half. I was slightly disappointed that it wasn't served with lemon, radish and jalapeño but the taste made up for it and you can always ask for some on the side... This place is well worth it. read more

I've eaten more Mexican food than an entire Mexican army, and after going to this place my reaction was essentially 'meh'. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything Earth-shattering either. I ordered a couple of their specialty tacos (the one with bacon and other meats on it) and I think I tried a fish taco too. The meat taco was much better than the other. The food took a while to come out and overall I just felt it was a pretty forgettable meal. The rice and beans were very average too. Not a fan of the peas and carrots in the rice. I've seen that in fried rice, but never in Spanish rice. Overall, I'd likely try other options in Ceres before coming back here. read more
