I was taking Ryder to a groomer I found for about the first 6 months of our residency and every time I would drop him off, I just felt like something was missing. The warm fuzzy feeling just wasn't there and he was in and out so quickly (we're talking 45 mins) that I felt quality of care was definitely lacking. I got to talking with my sitter about needing a new groomer, which by the way shout out to LKN Dog Sitting in Sherrills Ford. Jessica and her family are AMAZING and so loving. I was given Michelle's info and had to try her immediately. Talk about exceeding expectation! From the first contact I was impressed. Michelle got back to me right away, answered any questions and was so sweet. When it came to bath day, Ryder went in and was showered with love and we got to meet everyone. Just seeing how he is loved on and spoiled with treats, warms my heart. He comes home so happy, smelling fabulous and rocks his darn cute scarfs! I definitely have to say that all groomers at Upscale Tails are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Ryder isn't a breed that needs a special cut but the girls take the time to clean up the hair around his paw pads so he's fresh to death! How awesome is that! I would hands down recommend Upscale Tails! I make the drive from Denver to Morrisville because they are literately the BEST! Prefer they not spend their time in a teeny tiny crate? If you said YES, then this is where you need to go. I found this place through referrals from my neighbors, and I couldn't be happier. The set up is great, though it can be tough to spot on your first time in. They're at the roundabout for Morrison Plantation - behind the Mountain outdoors store and Brewsters Ice Cream, between a nail salon and the popcorn shop. It's small and unassuming but also very intimidate. The dogs are always smiling when I go in there - if you have a dog you know what I mean by "smiling!" Rather than crate the doggies, Amber and her team let them stay in the shared open area behind a nice gate so they don't escape through the front door. Her prices are reasonable, and they will bath or groom your fur baby however you like it. They are very accommodating. They also offer add on services like nail painting and tooth brushing for a nominal price. My fur baby is always excited to see me when I pick her up, but I know she's been treated well because she doesn't miss a beat when we pick her up. No more scared or shaking baby! That's how I know they're loving. I also happen to know that the owner is a true lover of animals. She regularly fosters dogs in need, and often brings her fur babies for a play date. All the doggies get along, and take it from me, because admittedly my fur baby is antisocial with other dogs but does fine here. I'm particular about her haircut - short around the mouth, no perfumes added, no mustachy cut (she's a poodle and sometimes the teddy cuts look like a mustache to me,) and be patient and gentle with her. The girls here always cater to my requests so I always make sure to tip because they're prices are reasonable and they go the extra mile. I'm very happy with them! They welcomed Rocko with caress making him feel comfortable as well as myself. They took their time to learn about his personality and routine. There was positive energy throughout the facility, which was spotless and smelled amazing. I appreciate the pictures and the report card that was given to me at pickup. When they were bringing Rocko to me he wanted to go back and play which said it all that he had a blast! When he got to the truck he was happy and tired which was a good thing, he slept all night. I can tell that he cares about the pups and the customers. I will give them another try in the future and have updated my rating to 4 stars. Be prepared to lose your money if your plans change for boarding and the owners will be rude about it. Had to cancel boarding reservation for over Easter weekend that I was required to give 50% deposit on. Owner, Laura, said that my money was not refundable (which wasn't disclosed to me over the phone) nor was it available to use as a future credit. She said it's in our paperwork, too bad. Well I dug up the paperwork and it says: "I understand that Boarding reservation for Major Holidays listed below require a 50% non-refundable deposit payment to Club Pups Lake Norman for the duration of the stay. Non-refundable deposits will ONLY be refunded in the case that the reservation is cancelled in-written 5 days prior from your day of arrival (1st day of boarding). The Major Holiday are: Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, and Month of December." Easter is not listed as a non-refundable holiday, therefore they have no right to keep my money. So, I opened a dispute with my credit card company. I would never recommend this place or ever use them again based on how I was treated by the owner, Laura. Nor am I going to use their grooming location again either.
