The riders are taught to care for the horses as well as respect each other. The instructors work very well together, so if we need to make up a lesson, my daughter does just fine with one instructor over another. She usually takes a small group lesson but at times ends up riding solo, and both are beneficial. Although my daughter does not compete, she's treated with the same care and attention as those who do. The farm is always being updated with new buildings being added and barns upgraded. We highly recommend Summer Hill Farms to anyone looking for a quality English riding facility.

Interactions seem much smoother when there's consistency in showing up. "If you're a No-Show please don't hesitate to contact management to reschedule, as I've had to do it once or twice." Please don't come in on days you're not scheduled (I learned this the hard way, they only have so many horses to let people train on). The trainers plan their day around the schedule, and unexpected arrivals cause confusion. Ive been taking lessons here as a beginner and the Trainers are very helpful on what you need to improve and give helpful tips on how to correct your mistakes. The lesson programs they offer are very well priced for learning how to ride. They have Trainers for every style of riding from Dressage, Western, English, and more. Also, the boarding is very reasonably priced, especially compared to other places around. It's honestly hard to find something this affordable without sacrificing the basics. If you're looking for a place to take lessons, board your horse, or do both, this is a solid option. The ranch has a comfortable, welcoming feel, and it works well for riders who want a consistent place to ride and care for their horse. I'd definitely recommend CJ's Legacy Ranch to anyone looking for lessons or boarding.

My impression is that they are open at least the same hours as the cafe, which according to their website is Tu/We 9am-2pm, but they may be open other times as well. Was a fairly quick drive via I-35, & my map app took me to the correct location. Staff is so friendly AND teach classes, or, like for me, they will give you a 2-3 minute refresher before you start. You rent a target at the range ($15 in March 2024), & you can rent a compound bow and arrows ($20 each in March 2024) that are honestly in really good shape. The range's targets are well spaced. They even have axe throwing in another area, if you're into that. They also have high-top tables and chairs for friends/family to sit and 4 big tvs on the wall for those not shooting. TIP: When you arrive for archery, go to the building on your left when you park (marked "Event Center" and "A") bc the building on the right is for game processing. I definitely will return!

Everything is perfectly child-sized, and there are great photo ops available throughout the entire facility. Comfort for Parents: There are plenty of seats for adults to sit and relax while the kids play. Cleanliness: I loved that the surfaces and equipment look like they can be easily wiped down and disinfected. Staff Visibility: The one strange thing was that I didn't see any workers out on the play floor. For safety reasons, it feels like they really need more eyes on the floor to monitor things. Party Pricing: They host birthday parties here, but at around $25 per person, it feels quite expensive in my opinion. Overall, it's a lovely, engaging facility that the kids will absolutely love.
