Then on the second ride on the new motor, the rear hubshell gave out while on remote trail. I only had to push my bike uphill, everything else worked and I could coast on the downhill sections. If you know,... a new hubshell is equal to, just get a whole new wheel. The crew know me, I'm a disabled veteran on a fixed income. Mountain biking helps with the PTSD. Anyway, they are getting me the best price they can, and one mechanic will donate his time to complete the repair. They are a great group of people and really look out for us veterans. They were able to take it in right away, complete what I needed, and get me back on the road. My disappointment really wasn't about the software update itself--it was about making an appointment, dropping my bike off as scheduled, and then finding out two days later that it hadn't even been looked at. I had made the appointment specifically so this wouldn't happen. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond and acknowledge the mistake. Totally understandable but a center has a slightly better plan and that they will accept bikes that are electric just you have to take the battery out of it before you leave it with them. Too many problems with lithium ion batteries, exploding you know? We live in a very mountain bike, happy town here and one of the places that will fix your bike after you wreck it by bombing down Wilder through postboxes and Engleman's loop is a center cycling. They are often backlogged because people wreck the ride and drop them off here. In my experience as of summer 2025 it was about a 10 day wait to get the bike back but my repairs for damaged brakes was under $100 and that seemed reasonable. We also have a sister store over near Ni Marks, which is another great bicycling area the demonstration Forest.

We had a fantastic time with Cathy on our tour of Carmel by the Sea. They have a few different…read moretours so make sure you know which one you booked as all start from the same place and (from what I could tell...) same time. Cathy actually texted me the night before to introduce herself and provide a few instructions and tips. A key tip is bring water and a small back pack or fanny pack to put the bottle in. The bikes don't all have baskets and the baskets don't hold things very well. So you might also bring a small bungee cord to keep things "in the basket" should you get a bike with a basket. Check in was a breeze. The most "difficult" part of the whole tour was finding helmets that fit and sizing the bike seats There were 6 in our tour. We left right on time at 10 and got back at 12:45. We stopped multiple times for photo ops and to look at different properties. We even got to walk through the La Playa hotel which is a beautiful property! I loved seeing and learning about the Comstock homes and the fact that the homes in Carmel by the Sea do not have street addresses. (They will soon as a new reg has passed that every property now needs a proper address... Not just a name.) All in all, I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour very much. I don't ride bikes often anymore as an adult and this was the first time riding an E-Bike. The learning curve is easy once you know the difference between Eco, Sport and Turbo. I enjoyed it and it made the tour almost effortless. Highly recommend Mad Dogs! Note....the coffee shop is just up around the corner. You cannot access it directly from the bike shop.
