These guys are the bomb! Once again, they gave me excellent service .... Today, I brought a hand truck in with pneumatic tires. One of the tires had lost all air and was off the rim. Although they were about 30 minutes away from closing, and were working on vehicles in the two garage bays that had doors open, someone greeted me immediately and brought the hand truck to their tire inflating/mounting machine. About two minutes later, the young man gave my hand truck back, with a fully inflated tire! No charge!! I asked if the valve stem was perhaps faulty, but he said, no, everything was fine, and then proceeded to share some useful information with me. He said that tires on hand trucks, wheelbarrows and such don't have a large bead (sealing surface) that car and truck tires do, and therefore, tend to lose air more easily, especially if they are not used very often (as was the case with my hand truck). Therefore, with these items, it's important to check and add air regularly, so the tire doesn't come off the rim. I never knew that! This is just another example of the knowledge and excellent service they have provided to me over the years! read more

Got new tires put on last week and was told they couldn't touch the front passenger one because someone stripped the lug nuts. I only go to them so when I told them they had done it , there was no possible way anyone there could do it so I had to pay $135 to have new lug nuts and studs put on. When I brought it back to them , they continued to charge me to put the tire on even though they had put them on prior inapril when I needed my inspection. I think they should focus on the cars and not smoking one cig after the other. Quick work but not the best , finally found my reciept from when they last put the front tires on. Smh read more

Bad service. Called as soon as they opened to find out if they had the correct tire size for my car. They did... I asked if I could make an appointment... No you can't. It's first come, first served... Ok then. I went right down. I was third in line. I talked to the guy in charge, told him what I needed. He said I would be next up. I work close to the shop so I said I would pick it up at noon. Returned 3 hrs later, car hasn't moved or been worked on. I asked him what happened to first come first served? He answered that they got busy and they work on the cars that the customers waited for first. Ummm Excuse Me???? I walked out. Think I may have dodged a bullet in the process. Called to get information on the price of a used tire. Man answering phone was rude, like I was bothering him and he didn't have time to 'deal with customers'. They are one of few establishments that offer used tires but the cheapest one they had (with little to no tread) was only $15 cheaper than a brand new tire at Melvin Tire Pro's. I went to Rhyda Tire Sales today. I have driven by there countless times, and always thought the place looked a little errm, skeevy. But after having a blow-out the other day, and a little short on cash I figured I would see how they are. The office is cramped and full of stereo and speaker equipment for sale. The man behind the desk was welcoming, and although quite busy with phone calls, helped me quickly. I was shocked at the cheap price he quoted for one SUV tire. Within minutes my car was in the garage. The guy working on the car was very friendly. Within 10 minutes it was done. Went back in to pay and it was LESS than quoted. Please dont let the looks of this place stop you from being a customer. I would recommend it to everyone. read more

Paid $50 each for two used tires at rhyda Tire. New would have cost $53 each for the same exact tire sold at Walmart.

I have been going to Rhyda tire for over 10 years. I have usually had a good experience but I went back this morning for the first time in about 3 years. I got there 5 mins before they opened which should be 9 am. No one even showed up until 9:05. The entrance was quite grand. 2 Jeeps come pulling in, music blasting, and one of them is backing up his jeep, peeling out and almost slams himself into the wall. They open up the doors and no one comes to greet myself or the other guy there before me until 9:15. So i give the guy my tire size, he comes out with 2 tires. Both of them have no tread on the outside edges and they want $30 each tire! The guy says to me "Don't worry it will pass inspection". Stay far away from this place. I ended up going to Warwick used tire in Apponaug and had a GREAT experience there. read more

I went to Rhyda tire sales today right after I left my mechanic to get an oil change so I can try and get a new tire for my car, The owner was very rude he says to me "These people are ahead of you! he looked at me like I was bloody thick or stupid then he asked me what kind of car I have and he supposely looked to see if they had my size tire he says "I don't have your size! I used the location in Johnston, which isn't listed separately on YELP. 1307 Hartford Avenue location was fantastic!! I went in on Thursday because my tires were almost bald in front and we had a storm coming. Everyone working there was friendly. A real nice group of guys. I was greeted right away and offered affordable options (I am on a budget). The nice young man found me a set of affordable tires and had them installed quickly. I can't recall having a more pleasant experience while buying car parts. And it was affordable. I will definitely recommend them and I'll definitely be back should I need tires again. read more

No savings here, after having my tire plugged they sheared off the stud and said it was safe to drive with only 4 studs. Now my $15 repair is going to cost an additional $150. I visited rhyda tire on post road to purchase a used tire the staff checked all my sensors without being asked. the next day i wake up to a flat i return to rhyda tire who says i need a new sensor and i have to purchase it, that what happened was a coincidence, after no help from them i went to town fair tire who told me this doesn't just happen that someone (rhyda tire employee) purposely loosened all of my sensors causing air to leak out of all my tires. We could've been in an accident or hurt. I cannot believe this was done to me. I have been going to Rhyda Tire in West Warwick for years. Not once have I had any issue with their service or tires. Everytime I need a great used tire, I go see them. They let you go in the back and pick the one you want. They always offer a 30 day-Warranty on the tires they sell. They are very affordable, especially when your in a pinch. I'm a fan of this friendly garage. I've been there twice. They are efficient, honest, and very inexpensive. If you are looking for a mall-like service center experience with coffee and big screen tvs and cushy chairs, this is not for you. It's a garage, they work on cars, it's grimy. But they are nice guys, the office walls are covered in quirky posters, and they do what they advertise. Here's an additional perk: The garage is across from the Bradford Soap Works, which abuts the bike path. Lots of the Rhyda guys smoke, so if you'd like to get out of that atmosphere, you can cross the street, walk west a couple of blocks, go around the soap works, and you're on the bike path, take a 15 minute stroll east, get back onto Providence Street, walk west a couple of blocks and voila; you've had a walk and gotten fresh tires! read more

Run far far away. I had the absolute worst customer service experience of my life today. Everyone knows mechanics love to take advantage of women when they go in for service on their vehicles so on my lunch break I met my fiancé at the shop to talk to Kyle who was working at the time. I asked him if I could get a deal for doing all four tires at once even though they didn't all need to be switched out. We agreed that for $200 he'd mount balance align etc the whole kit and kabootle. I felt like I got a good deal so I returned to work. I got a call while en route back to my office that a stud was broken so I told the mechanic to throw the fourth tire in the trunk and that'd Id come back to get it finished after I purchased the stud. Well another 20 minutes passes and I get another call from my fiancé who had just paid $244 before taxes for the tires. I then call Kyle and ask about the discrepancy and he denies quoting me $200 even, I ask to speak to the manager who I believe was John (says he's a partner and won't let me talk to the owner). John did nothing to inspire faith in what turn my customer service experience was about to take. After a few minutes of back and forth during which he admirably defended his employee I asked him what happened to the customer always being right, he responded that he'd been doing this a lot of years and that the customer is always full of crap. I lost my cool at this point and asked if he was stupid for blindly believe an employee like that and at this point he hung up on me. When I returned home this evening I found out that they didn't even put the fourth tire in the trunk like I asked. I called John back to tell him about this and he said he didn't understand how someone could pay for 4 tires and leave with 3 and started laughing at me. "Buyer Beware" is certainly the caveat that best applies when dealing with the quality of product at Rhyda Tire, specifically the Woonsocket location. My wife purchased used tired for her 2008 Toyota Corolla in December of 2009. The sales people/installers were very friendly and assured her that they would set her up in some great tires for our budget. The price of 4 used tires including mounting, balance and discarding of the old tires, and tax came to almost exactly $175. At the time, it seemed much better than paying $350 for new tires. However, less than 6 months later, my wife and I were more than disappointed to find out(at Monroe Muffler, Post Road, Warwick) that the 2 year old car could not pass inspection at their facility. The service technician questioned why we were driving on such dangerous tires, pointed out how thin the tread was and noted that each tire's "wear bar" was exposed to the road surface, indicating that the tires were clearly at "discard" stage of their usefulness. It seemed far too soon to have those tires be in such poor condition, after all, we only drive that car a little more than what is typical(aprox. 1,200 miles a month.) I called the Woonsocket Rhyda store shortly after receiving the news and was directed to call the West Warwick store because they could not help me there. I supposedly talked to the owners son in the West Warwick store. He sounded irritated about the situation as if this thing happens often and immediately referenced the "30 day guarantee". He wasn't rude, and he did offer to help rectify the situation. The problem was, every time I called back he didn't have enough tires in that size that could pass inspection. The sad part is, I believed him. (Never had enough decent tires for one of the most popular cars in America? Hummmm......there's a red flag!) I eventually stopped calling and started saving my money. Why roll the dice on my wife's safety and risk a failing inspection?, clearly it wasn't worth it. read more
