Due to the cardio, it's definitely great for improving your overall heart health. Cycling or "spin" is about a 50-60 minute class with use of mainly gluteus, calves, quadriceps, hamstrings, and core muscles. Your upper arm muscles are mildly in use during the 3-minute arm workout incorporated into the routine. Pros: - Nice instructors - Total body workout especially lower muscles - Endurance training - Clean studio with restrooms, showers, cycling shoes (no charge for shoes), and 1 water bottle - Intense and fast-pace (you will love the rush later) Cons: - Intense and fast-pace (con in the beginning because yes, it is difficult! I was always last my first month of class, and I felt embarrassed. DO NOT BE. It is human to feel this way, but your results will show over time!) - Some seats near the speakers (need ear plugs) Tips: - Pick any seat but the closer you sit up front means better motivation via instructor - Clipping your shoes can be tricky, so I'd arrive about 6 minutes before class my first month to get it down (can also ask for help) - You don't have to follow the instructor all the time, know what your pace is - Eat a pre-snack about 45 minutes prior! I always grab my protein bar. - DO NOT FORGET YOUR BEST FRIEND CALLED WATER -No show or late cancel = $5 charge here

English and Audrey have been so crucial in me signing up, going out of their way to give me the best monthly rate. I'm forever grateful for these two managers and all they do for this wonderful Hotworx location. Know BEFORE you go: ** A specific HOTWORX mat and towel are required for the isometric classes. You can purchase them both for $100. They also rent and sell other things, from cute clothing to headphones to energy drinks. ** Hand towels and foam rollers are provided for free. ** There are also small cubby spaces outside the sauna for quick storage - that's where you put your phone, backpack, shoes, etc. ** All classes are virtual through displays within the sauna, not in-person with you. You follow along to their instructions on the screen. ** Bring a water bottle! Be sure to hydrate before, during, and after. There are water fountains for refills. ** Similarly - it's HOT. You're working out in a sauna. Just be aware if you're super sensitive to high temperature, that this might not be for you.

I was very impressed when I walked in as they had it decorated very nicely for the fall season and also had really cute merch! The studio itself was larger than some of the others I've seen and was well laid out. The class itself was just OK as the insturctor seemed to constantly be changing the gear and didn't get into a groove. With that said, the instructor and other team members were all very friendly. While I did prefer a different studio within Knoxville, I would go back to this one on occasion if I lived in town!

My friend and I wanted to try a different type of exercise class and came across CycleBar. They offer your first class free--however trying to get this offer and apply it to the class of your choosing was a struggle for my friend and I. When we couldn't figure out how to sign up with the free class for the day and time we wanted, I tried calling the studio to get some help. I called several times but no one answered and their mailbox was full so I wasn't able to leave a message. Then, I tried emailing them since on their answering machine, they said that if you need more immediate assistance to send them an email. So I did that, but I still didn't get a reply. My friend ended up just paying the $30 fee for the class to get it over with. Then, when I read other reviews and saw others had the same issue AND that they were turned away when they arrived, I was pretty nervous about what to expect. My friend and I made sure to arrive 20 minutes prior to the class like the confirmation email/text said. I noticed though, that the sign at their check in stated that new riders must arrive 30 minutes before class but they will allow up to 20 minutes prior--so if you're a new rider here wanting to try a class, just keep that in mind! We were able to check in and get our gear when we arrived without any issue. The three girls working there that morning were all helpful and showed us where things were and helped my friend and I get set up on our bikes. We had a lot of fun in the class! Katie was our instructor and she was really cool and super friendly! The class is a great workout. My friend doesn't get to workout at a gym or anything on a regular basis--I'm a former fitness trainer and workout in my home gym 5-6 times a week. She and I were able to do this class, have fun and have similar stats, so this would be a great class for people of all exercise backgrounds! I'm not sure I'll sign up for a membership right now, but I know my friend and I enjoyed our experience and would like to come back again. Hopefully we can continue to have good experiences that will make us feel comfortable with committing to any kind of membership, but after the struggles we had to get into the first class and still didn't receive any assistance, makes me a bit hesitant. If the business works on improving their customer support outside of class, that would make the overall experience more positive.

First, it is centrally located which made it very easy for me to get from downtown (around Gay St) to it for their classes. I would also say that the staff (especially January at the front desk) are very warm and welcoming. They make you feel excited to be there and treat you as though you are a regular. The classes themselves were great (if you've been to b3 before, they use the same moves that you'd see in other classes) but there were a couple of things I would love to see from the studio in the future. First, I would love to see cardio and/or strength classes on the schedule like some other b3 studios have (and that they have online). I know this means that they will have to get heavier weights, but I love lifting heavy and missed that here. The second thing that I think would be awesome would be having classes at the same time every day (i.e. a noon class). It seemed like they were training a lot of new instructors when I was there so hopefully these additions will happen soon. Either way, the studio is clean and friendly! I will be back when I return to Knox!
