After receiving a quote, taking pictures for 2 hours and paying our deposit, we waited 3 1/2 weeks for our scheduled concrete lifting repair. During the initial consultation, we were assured the repair would not be a problem. However, when the two technicians arrived, they spent about 15 minutes assessing the situation before leaving, stating they could not complete the job. What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication afterward. We spent the next 12 hours trying to reach someone at the local branch to discuss the issue and find a resolution for this much-needed repair. Despite repeatedly requesting a phone call, no one ever contacted us. Instead, all communication was handled through text messages. We were eventually informed that a waiver would be required, something that was never discussed during the consultation. At that point, we requested a full refund of our deposit. In all my years, I have never experienced such poor communication and customer service from a company. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to proceed with caution when considering Groundworks in Belmont, NC.

There so many thoughtful touches, a pathway for my dads wheelchair, mulch barriers from my neighbors wild flowers, storage for our kayaks. The transformation was huge, it's like a whole new house. Gairy was incredibly kind, easy to work with, and very responsive throughout the process. Pricing was also very reasonable for the amount of work completed. We're extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend them.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

Despite being given pictures/info beforehand, he failed to bring actual tools needed, and had ONLY shovels to dig in hard clay. It took 3 grown men 6 hours to dig 24 inches deep for a 6x8 slab. Frank sat/slept in his truck during the majority of this time. With the correct tools, the dig would've taken less than 30 minutes. A heavy rain was forecast for later in the day and because of how long the dig was taking, my wife asked Frank if they should postpone the pour. He literally yelled at her in our own yard and told her 'he would not kill his men for her'. She asked him to leave and he refused. What Frank apparently failed to intellectualize... the 'killing' of his men was the result of his own stupidity (not bringing correct tools and not helping them). My wife found his behavior so threatening that she called her brother to come over. When her brother arrived, Frank changed his tune immediately and even began helping his men dig. I guess Frank is okay with speaking to women in a threatening manner but doesn't have the courage to speak to men the same way. By the way, it did rain that evening on the freshly poured slab. Do yourself a favor and do not use Frank. If this review deters even one person, it will be worth the time I spent to post it.
