OMG!!! They get one star for price. Other than that, just plain shi**y! Filthy rooms. Bad smells. I was told they have no ice makers, they just chose not to use them, they were physically on premises. Outer door didn't lock, absolutely no sense of security. Hall carpet torn up so maybe they are trying to improve, my suggestion is go elsewhere until they can demonstrate improvement. Night desk clerk was a jerk. This hotel used to be our go-to, nothing fancy, but clean and nice; let's call it aging gracefully. Welp. It didn't have bed bugs. But there was a dirty used fork on the floor in the room,dried rice on the sheets,the curtains were disintegrating, the lock on the door was broken,the room number was taped to an electrical box outside of the room, the dresser drawer wouldn't go back in right,there was a stain on the pillow that kinda looked like blood? Friday to Sunday at this place. It appears to be a long term stay hotel for many people, fine. Lots of cars outside, quite a few have not moved in a long time. It was superficially clean. We had multiple rooms for two days. None of them had chairs, water glasses, kleenex, or extra toilet paper beyond what was on the spinner. While there were small refigerators and a microwave in each room, bathroom fixtures were ancient, some of the other items might have been more practical. All the rooms had new room lock mechanisms for card use, but the swing safety lock inside was not functional as the stationary pieces had been removed from the doors to make room for the new mechanism. No workout rooms or sauna as pictured. No phone in rooms to contact desk. Had to go down to the front desk for missing items. Pool and Hot tub were not available and empty, and that looked like a long term situation. On checkout I mentioned that I had no hot(not even warm) water for a shower Sunday morning, my comment was barely acknowledged. Saturday we returned mid day, apparently shortly after room cleaning and all the rooms smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which was also present throughout the building. Gross and unsafe is an understatement. No screens on the windows, smelled like smoke and other odd smells, blood on our bed, sharp metal pieces sticking out from bed, spilt a cup of water in the floor and the white rage came up black, found a receipt behind the bed from 2 years ago, and behind night stand had old food wrappers and garbage. Sad place to stay unless desperate. Our room hasn't been updated in over 20 years. Carpet in room dirty and filled with stains. Mattress basic and soft. Chair had cigarette burns and just don't lean back or the chairback will fall off! Wallpaper peeling off wall. Amenities were old and in need of repair. Pool area tile cracked. Walls had mold. Water quality questionable. Hall carpet in need of a good stretch or replacement. Wifi super slow or not attainable. Did the trick for my purpose... A place to sleep. The room was neat, it was quiet and I did notice a pool and jacquizzi indoors, also a game area and a restaurant and lounge. For arriving at 10 pm and leaving at 9:30 am it worked for me. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room which for a longer stay would be handy. I was able to keep my water bottles frozen. Older and convenient location, folks were friendly. I guess if I had to, I could almost live there with all those amenities! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! My friend had booked a week long stay here and had been in his room for a day towards his stay when his toilet had stopped working. Mind you my friend has extreme social anxiety and some disabilities. I went to the front desk lady to tell her about it and she said she couldn't get ahold of a maintenance man to fix it with the time being 10 at night that's totally understandable. so we proceeded to ask if they could switch him to a different room she proceeded to tell us that she couldn't do that because housekeeping would yell at her. we went back to tell my friend and take pictures then came back to show her. She continued to refuse him a different room. Then my girlfriend asked her what he's supposed to do without a working toilet, she proceeded to call her a "B*t*h" and threaten to have us removed for "Arguing" with her. finally after 30 minutes of hassle and listening to her name call and degrade paying customers she finally switched his room. Well what can I say. The room was nicely appointed with new fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There was a bathtub and plenty of closet space. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. Nice flat screen tv with cable. It was nice and quiet and decent security. The room was clean. This place does not wash the top blanket on the beds as they do not have a way of doing so . They have to use the guest laundry to wash the sheets for the place . So the top blankets have NEVER been washed ! BEWARE! read more

Dirtiest room I've ever stayed at. The whirl pool in room when ran had something black come out of it. Went to plug my phn charger on side of couch between the dust and cob webs was disgusting. So bad. Pictures are completely misleading and dishonest. Pictures make you believe you will get a clean room with proper temperature control. Something you are probably accustomed to getting when you get a room from other establishments. Should have checked the room before handing over the credit card. Room smelled. The vents are noticeably dusty and clogged with dust balls. Carpet is dirty. Blankets are stained. Paint is peeling. Air conditioner did not blow cold air. Room stayed stifling hot all night which is probably why the rooms smell dank and musty as you open the door. Why we even stayed the night? It was late, thought the room would eventually cool down, and kids fell asleep before we thought about moving rooms. At least be honest post pictures of what your rooms really look like! This place deserves less than 1 star. Shortly after checking in20 minutes later we checked out. It was that bad. We had two rooms both smelled like smoke, old sticky carpet, cigarettes holes on the blanket, and pealing wall papers. Went on a family birthday trip to Wisconsin. Booked this hotel about 2 weeks in advanced. The night we got there it was around 7 P.m, we settled in and while I was standing by the mini fridge in my room, I noticed there was TWO half eaten corn cobs stashed behind it. I brushed it off and said we get what we pay for right? Anyways, me and my family headed to the pool after a 4 hour drive from Chicago to cool off and relax. We were in the pool until midnight (Which it was the time they close it for the night). BY THE WAY, WE FOUND A FROG IN THE POOL AREA, yeah SUPER sanitary of them. We had booked 5 different rooms so after the pool, while every couple/family were all in their rooms, one of the couples we were with had an argument and because I tried to calm them down (which I did by putting one of the individuals in my room and the argument stopped), They came and knocked on my door AFTER the whole argument was over with already and told me I had to leave. I got kicked out at 1 a.m with a 9 year old & a 3 year old. The person at the front desk said I should've never tried to handle the situation on my own and that it was my fault for getting kicked out because I put one of the individuals in my room. WHAT? That made no sense! If anything that's what stopped the whole thing from escalating even more. Where was I suppose to go with 2 kids in the middle of the night?! They wouldn't even refund me my money to go to another hotel, if I could even find one at that time! Complete waste of time and money. I know we are at fault because of the argument, but it only lasted about 3 minutes! Then they had the nerve to say we can come back and book another vacation at their hotel just next time no loud arguments. Are you serious?! but they wouldn't let me stay at least one night with my kids because according to them everything was "my fault". They could've at least returned me my money for the other nights I wasn't going to be there anymore. The staff is a complete joke! read more

OMG. What a dump. One star is a generous rating. Upon entering my room, and bathroom, there were used bath towels on the floor. The wallpaper was peeling off everywhere in the room. I was afraid to walk barefoot in the room for fear of catching something. If it wasn't so late when I arrived, I would have left and refused to have paid. Oh my god. This is horrible. Brought the girls here for a weekend and this is what we found. Musty smell( thank god for essential oils), peeling wallpaper, water stained ceiling and fire hazard electrical. I really want my money back but I doubt it will happen. We were fortunately out all day. After complaining to staff they reluctantly moved us to another room, better but not great. The staff member even told me" we don't have anything on that side of the hotel" what? is there a run down side and a less run down side? stay away. Really deserves a visit from a health inspector. I drove in from Chicago to visit my mother-in-law at the nearby Divine Savior Tivoli rehab center. This hotel was just across the highway from the hospital. They gave me a really good discount because Mom was at Divine Savior Hospital. The front desk and hallways were really old fashioned with long creaky hallways and real keys for the doors. So I wasn't too sure about the place. The room was a pleasant surprise - very spacious and completely updated. The front desk staff and a busy handyman staff guy were friendly and welcoming. I had the room with two queen beds in the far hallway not far from the exercise room. It was a super clean room with fairly comfortable beds. I would have liked some more and better pillows though. I loved the surprisingly excellent coffee provided 24hrs/day. My teenagers had a great time in the really nice pool area and exercise room. They also hit me up for quarters for the game area that had pinball, and Pacman type games. The attached restaurant / lounge had a tasty Wisconsin Friday fish fry - brought some to mom and she loved it. Also they make a really tasty and hearty large portion breakfast. I had an omelet and shared it with the teens. Pancakes were huge and made right. Although the restaurant coffee was not nearly as good as the hotel's coffee. The Ridge Motor Inn is not anything fancy and in many ways a throwback in time, but you can see they care about their hotel. It was well worth the value and I would stay there again. read more
