My only small negative is that some of the flooring is coming up in areas. I don't think it makes it any more dangerous, but it could get worse over time. From the moment we booked to the minute we packed up, everything was smooth, easy, and honestly kind of perfect. The park is stunning and has so much to do. So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. Between the playground, splash pad, and shaded picnic areas, the kids were entertained the entire time. No one was bored, not even for a second. There's something really special about this place. We loved that the pier was far and secluded enough from the playscapes so it wouldn't distract our littles, and the kids at play wouldn't disturb the fish* ;). The playscapes were covered and nicely spread out with many fun play zones and structures (including two zip lines). The park has well-kept grassy spaces, walkways and restrooms, and you can even rent kayaks and pavilions with tables for parties. We had the best time and can't wait to return! I would highly recommend this park for your next family fun day or gathering. *We didn't see or catch any fish.

Unsafe at the moment…read more There have been reports recently that I have heard of men hiding in the bathrooms, including the women's bathrooms. One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

Don't get your expectations up for the sights on the train ride - it's not much. A soccer field and then it's just dry brush / trees. One of the most disappointing elements was that there was no info given on the ride (saw speakers so the conductor could have talked). According to their website, the train takes you through the hideout of Sam Bass (outlaw that died in Round Rock) so that would have been cool to hear about. Overall, kids love trains so this is a good way to entertain them.

Other area were the same (heavy gates to prevent kids from entering the paved areas without permission & help. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. But it's true to the website. I highly recommend it!
