Everything went well. Everyone was very professional and friendly. They take the time to explain the procedure pre and post surgery.

While in the waiting room there was a least six people waiting one person left from being cared for and we still had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for 1 person to get called back. I had to fill out paperwork twice and then when I finally got back the nurse didn't even read anything off of my medical history I filled out until I said isn't it on the paperwork I filled out twice. This place is a joke on maize and south Seneca.

Based on symptoms the PA wrote a prescription for 5 days. She told me when the lab results came back, she would check to be sure it was the correct antibiotic and then call in the second half of the Prescription. When the results came from the lab, I was called and told I needed to come back for another appointment to get the rest of the prescription and they would do another lab test. Neither was necessary for the rest of the prescription. But, they would get double the fees! I tried to argue that was not what I was originally told by the PA. They said the PA I saw wasn't available for the next week. But I could come back in and see another one. I was surprised to learn that 3 of my friends experienced the exact same thing. They were given half of an antibiotic prescription and then told to have a second appointment to get the second half of their prescription. NextCare gets paid twice.

Her primary care physician referred us to Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa Emergency Room. I was in the room with her and her mother and was asked to fill out her information on an iPad, which I did. It was agreed that I would be the primary patient contact. After a series of tests, staff determined she needed to be transported by ambulance to St. Francis. Her mother needed someone to go to their house to shut off the stove because she had been cooking, so I volunteered since I was the only one with a car. I needed to find out when my fiancée would be transported so I would know whether to meet them at St. Francis or return to St. Teresa after running the errand. I approached the nurses' station and spoke with one of the head nurses who was coordinating the transfer with St. Francis to ask when the transfer was supposed to happen. At that point, another nurse intervened and was rude and disrespectful. She began yelling at me, "YOU CAN'T BE HERE! YOU NEED TO LEAVE THIS AREA NOW!" and then lectured me about HIPAA. I explained I was only trying to find out the transfer time and that I was already very stressed about my fiancée's condition. The nurse continued to overreact and remained rude, and I was asked to leave the hospital. I left willingly, but I am very upset because I feel the situation could have been handled differently. There was a clear lack of empathy, respect, and compassion during a stressful and frightening time for our family. I am debating whether to file a formal complaint against this nurse. At minimum, I wanted to document this incident so others are aware of how patients and their families may be treated at this hospital.

Administratively and medically, they were very efficient and answered all of our questions well (even the dumb questions), the setting was comfortable and quiet, and the nurses and docs were very personable. One of the nurses said he had worked in several ERs over his career, and this one was the best in his opinion, because the doctors are always so thorough at St. Teresa -- and that was the experience we had, too.
