When I get here it's a whole mess they were renovating the lodges and making the woman do so much work and having us run all over the place. Then we finally get settled and the whole structure of the sober living has changed woman on one side the men on the other no Co-Ed groups which is not a big deal till your sitting in the same room with the same people and not having multiple groups to pick from, so I've completely gone into a depressive state to where I do not want to go to meetings or get up out of my bed anymore. And you would think since that's happening someone like your therapist would come and check on you and see what we could do about it. But no... instead I over hear a conversation with Sam (my freaking therapist) and another worker that works here (but she's been great don't want to include her) on speaker phone as I'm waiting to get my discharge papers signed. So I over hear the conversation where she is completely trashing some woman from my process group including myself. Mind you I already have bad trust issues and I don't really talk much because of it. I don't trust people at all because of the situations my addiction has put me in. I have severe PTSD. So these situations has not only brought out trauma it has completely made my time here miserable and my recovery to be put in a stand still. Sam has now accused me of lying and said I've made it up. When I don't even talk to people so why would I just bring this to people's attention if it's not true causing my social anxiety to be crazy. And not to forget to mention that every one on one I've had with Sam has never been helpful all she talks about is what I'm going to do after here, nothing about what's going on in my life or past traumas which we agreed to go through when I first got here. I WILL NOT BE CALLED A LIAR AND HAVE SOMEONE TWO FACED START TO BLAME ME FOR THERE ACTIONS! You're supposed to trust your therapist!! This whole experience has not made me any better. If anything it's made my cravings higher than ever. Maybe if things were like they used to be and how I've heard them to be before my experience would have been a lot better. I went to a rehab called "The Bluff" before this one a-little while back and I had a terrific time there. The staff really cared I was actually talking in groups and diving head first into my recovery. And now seeing the difference i feel like I've wasted my time and money at Mount Sinai. Would never recommend this place to anyone! And that's crazy because I used to work in recovery and send clients of mine here for detox and now I know I would never do that again. It's a very TOXIC environment. But if you chose to go here I wish you the best!

Not enough snacks, milk, or ice. Need another machine for both. Got sick, they dont care if you spread it. Had to hunt a pen down because they have none apparently. Only 1 TV & make detox patients wait until 5pm like the rest to watch it. Wouldn't give me any psyche meds at first until I threatened to leave! 1 week in & meds still not right. Tried to do a transfer & they keep trying to talk me out of it & refuse to cooperate. Tried to put me (a disabled veteran) on the street instead, to walk home, a 3 hour drive! This place is primarily addiction treatment. They sent some punk (director of admissions) to threaten to kick me out for no good reason! Asking me if I am schizophrenic...but they know how to deal with vets, they say. BS!!! Clinical director is full of it. Was told it was dual diagnosis but its not primarily mental health. Which is what I need! You have to walk around looking for staff or wait hours. Most staff are nice & care. Too much bible talk in groups though! HIPPA PRIVACY LAWS BEING VIOLATED HERE! Place is NOT SAFE/needs security! Another corporate one that just wants your money! Which is proven by them taking too many people in while understaffed. & they don't tell ya this but don't leave AMA or you'll be walking home, from all/any of them. Terrible experience overall with care & all.

Instead of taking accountability of a lack of training. Please notate who you speak with for any concerns. I will list here why you should pick somewhere else to go. 1. If your child has SN and needs OT and has sensory issues pls find a place that has therapists that are certified in sensory integration. For 2 years i requested help with this and all they could do is give me sheets of paper from the internet eventhough they kept saying they knew how to work with OT of which they didnt. I took my kid to another OT specialty office that was certified and they questioned the quality of therapy my child was getting due to this. 2. Their secretary when she first started called babies cant wait to get my speech cancelled after we had a friendly convo about aba and she told me she was vehemently against it..when i called babies cant wait the coordinator confirmed a helping hands rep called them to advise this and apologized thaf she had no reason to go out of her way to do that. My speech thankfully was never cancelled. My baby was newly diagnosed and i had no idea at that time aba was such a heated issue. 3. Lack of transparency. The owner calls and yells at me not recognizing her staff fave the wrong info or made a wrong decision about a question my husband asked Instead of calling to ask.i was berated after two years of goijg to this place told i wasnt an involved parent. If you just need an in and out place go here. But if you want a therapist that really understands sensory issues and is able to work on that instead of just felling you to get a vest and or trampoline go to a place where therapists are certified in sensory integration. I wasted 2 years going here thinking they need what they were doing. If you need to find out who is go on the website online to confirm any therapist has certification. Again always get a name and be transparent. Cos their staff isnt even aware of their own policies and will blame you. And the owner is not aware or accountable to her staff not knowing policy and will blame you for it.

One time she got sick unexpectedly and we found out when we showed up and it was a no go. He looked forward to Ms. Tracy as part of his weekly routine. Unfortunately we changed insurance and I dropped the ball not thinking of his speech therapy but all the other doctors‍ he's not there at the moment so I work with him at home. We tried other therapists in the past but they don't make him work like Ms Tracy so it's a waste of time bc his visits were only 30 min. She's excellent at what she does.

Everytime we go my kids get a little treat (a lollipop or something of the sort) and they feel comfortable there. They actually got to know the staff and consider them friends. The place could use a bit of a remodel but it is clean. For christmas they brought a santa clause to sit at the waitin area to take free pics with the kids and patients waiting. I believe tjey do it every year and the santa is a "real" santa if you get my drift. My kids enjoyed every second of it and made the waiting time seem way shorter and fun. I will keep coming here and bringing my kids, and I encourage others to do the same.

This was by far the worst medical experience of my lifetime. I was attempting to change doctors…read moredue to an insurance change and Dr. Anderson had a five star rating with the insurance carrier. First, I took the time to have my prior doctor send all my records as I was hospitalize for a serious medical condition 6-mths prior. When I got there the place was a complete dump. All the chairs had duct tape their was trash on the floor in the lobby, the office all around was like a horders house. The scale that had was something you find at Walmart for $4.99. If that wasn't bad enough, I get in the room and asked if they had my records (knowing I had confirmed they were sent) and the nurses response was, "I have no idea". So she leaves without taking any vitals asking any questions and just said the doctor will be in in a bit. I hear them talking and one of the other workers said, "check the stack of papers in the back". After 30 mins I listen to them call my prior doctor trying to get their hands on the records. The doctor then comes in with a stack of paper in his hands. As I begin taking to him, I realize he didn't bother to even look at them. Continuing to be patient and discussing my medical history, since he couldnt be bothered to read them, he then slumps down on the chair, put his hand on his forehead and starts moving his hand signaling me to lower my voice and "clam down a bit". Like someone with a major hangover. After not bother to to check any vitals again, he write me the prescription I needed for blood pressure and tells me to come back in 6 mths. I probably could have told him to write me a prescription for any kinds of medicine and he would have done it. Never once did he look at the fax copy of my records. Oh...and of course the dosage was incorrect and the pharmacy had to get it corrected .I had a bad feeling when I walked in. If someone doesn't care about the environment they work in, they surely aren't going to care about anything else.i wish their was a negative rating. This place need to be completely shut down. It was a huge decision for me and not inexpensive. Of course, I knew that I would need to adjust and it took about a week to feel comfortable. I was so impressed by the kindness and devotion from the staff. They worked long shifts but always made us their priority. Mr. Chase, Mr. Jordan, Miss Mary and too many to name were so friendly and respectful not only to me but to all of the patients. Dr. Fiegel was my Psychiatrist and he was beyond brilliant in nailing down my diagnosis and prescribing the proper meds so that I could sleep for the first time in years. I slept a solid 8 hours on the very first night with my new medications. The Internists Dr. Pham and Dr. Patel also made sure that we stayed healthy. The Social Workers and the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner went above and beyond to make sure that we had the therapies and meds to make us feel better. I was especially fond of the group therapy and learned many tools and skills to excel in my personal life. A big shout out to the Social Workers and to Mr. Michael who brought a wealth of experience to our groups. His ability to communicate with us and show compassion was so welcome and appreciated. It was the BEST decision of my life and I am so glad that I admitted myself for 30 days. I had been struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD and knew that I needed this level of professional care. I cannot say enough about the staff and Director, Mr. Magner. Everyone was kind, professional, focused and skilled in their mission to change our lives for the better. The food was adequate and filling but there were a few blips. The Chef went out of his way to make sure that the meals were served properly and it is my understanding that the food has to be catered from a vendor until they get a license to operate the kitchen. No big deal. We never went hungry and there were lots of high quality snacks, fresh fruit, juices and water whenever we wanted it. The patients were incredible and came from all walks of life. We supported one another and I was touched by their friendships and stories. It was extremely difficult to leave when the time came. All of us were equals and had the same goals. I was especially fond of the emotional support dogs that some patients brought with them. We loved taking turns walking and playing with them. One in particular was Theo, a Labradoodle who loved everyone and even stayed in some of our rooms. It made our stay incredibly meaningful. Feeding him crunchy, sliced apples was the highlight of my stay. Sylvia Brafman changed my life forever. Was it perfect? No place is perfect. The Georgia facility is new and has some growing pains but they are doing everything they can to make it a place of healing and transformation.
