Finally tried Right Coast Taqueria after passing this stationary food truck numerous times on the LIE service road. I got a side of Mexican Street Corn and a Mongolian Burrito. The street corn was savory and very tasty! I also really enjoyed the Mongolian Burrito. I felt the beef was sweet and just spicy enough for my preference. The service was quick and enjoyed eating at the benches they had set up. Plenty of parking, just watch out for any potholes because it is a gravel lot. read more

Drove all the way out to LI for an event and needed some sustenance before I headed back to the Bronx. A fellow yelper suggested Right Coast Taqueria, after a quick Google, hopped in the car with only 20 mins to spear before they closed. I pulled up to the parking lot and was impressed by the food truck setup. I was pleasantly greeted even though I was cutting the time close, I placed my order for some Mix N Match tacos (2 fish and 1 shrimp). Once completed I grabbed my order and went to the car to enjoy. Tacos were good but I enjoyed the shrimp better than the fish (the fish was a little dry and the shrimp had more flavor). Overall good suggestion for some grab n go grub from a fellow Yelper. A stationary food truck on the service road of the LIE. You would think this is sus, but it's actually a reputable spot. A spot I've been hearing about for a while. We found the opportunity to finally partake in the experience and it was a tasty one. Online ordering through their website is super easy. And just as easy was pickup. This is great for the colder seasons. You can pull up and park right on the grass. It's pretty accessible and the truck is just steps away. On to the food. The burritos were out of this world! I got their Thanksgiving special burrito and it was amazing. The turkey was pure quality, the stuffing was made well. And a sage aioli...Get out of here right now! My only complaint was the chips. They had that bitter taste being friend in old oil. Could just be me because Hubs liked the chips a lot. Will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

My second time here, at the mobile stop conveniently located on the South service road of LIE at exit 60. Perfect if you coming home on the train. We ordered nachos, salsa and queso dip. Chips were made to perfection lightly salted, salsa a different flavor than I'm used to but excellent I can't quite peg what the difference is but it's great. Same with the queso. I had the Mongolian burrito it had a kick with lime and the beef was phenomenally dressed and crispy. My one critique would be it wasn't wrapped to tight but all good I ate some out with a fork. We had the shrimp and fish tacos as well, "it was everything I wanted". Direct quote. They changed up the outside since I was there last, no more picnic tables (maybe it's a seasonal thing). They've got a couple games to play as you wait for your food. Some nice string lights and flowers make a puppy vibe. 10/10 will be back. read more

Taco Tuesday! Well, maybe not today (it's Thursday), and maybe not any other day other than Tuesday (duh), but at least for me, when I actually experienced some food truck taco love from Right Coast Taqueria, it was in fact on a Tuesday. And boy howdy was it a delicious Tuesday filled with tacos (and nachos!). You see, my fiancée and I just recently moved into the area of Ronkonkoma and so in our first few days of dwelling we weren't looking to cook. Therein lies the biggest reason for us getting RCT...well that and the fact that this tiny food truck was so intriguing to find just sitting there right off the service road of the LIE. Fun fact though that this little vehicle shares the same deliciousness as the Right Coast Taqueria storefront located in Deer Park. I'm a bad Yelper because I visited that spot once years ago and totally forgot to write it up. Luckily, this nearby Right Coast on wheels helps to remedy that. Oh and remedy it does with a plentiful menu of tasty taco options as well as a few burritos, pupusas, quesadillas, and nachos. We went for a variety of taco choices along with some nachos (they're served deconstructed which is a superb idea to keep things from getting soggy). My fiancée ordered them online and I was able to pick them up right from the truck. I did get there a few minutes early and so I hung out at the wooden picnic tables listening to some lively music playing over the speakers. Their strung up lights around their tiny spot adds a vibe that almost makes you forget you're literally feet away from the service road. Once ready (the friendly fella called out my name just about on time), I took my bounty back to our new abode and we dove in. The lady had a delicious carne asada taco with cotija cheese and pickled red onion while I had probably one of THE BEST al pastor tacos I've ever consumed. The roast pork was so succulent and delicious while the pineapple salsa gave the taco a nice fruity kick. From there, we shared a trio of birria tacos which were out of this world. So juicy and beefy with that consommé really giving the tacos an added oomph of flavor. The only semi-let down might've been the nachos as the queso wasn't anything to write home about, but they were still tasty enough to devour. Overall, this Right Coast Taqueria food truck is a delicious spot to pull over to on your travels and attack a few terrific tacos. With it being so close (and so tasty) I'm sure we'll be grabbing some more grub from here soon. Perhaps a few more visits will solidify what felt like just a tick under five stars. Here's hoping they get to that level for me on a Tuesday or any day really! read more

100 stars. I am no expert on tacos but these were out of this world. We were staying at a hotel around the corner and saw this place. The day we went we got lucky-there was no line only 1 person waiting and we got our food within less than 10 mins. The lady at the counter was fine no issues. We got the birria and carne asada tacos and chips and guac. Never having birria tacos before I didn't know what to expect but the FLAVOR!! Whoever is making these has mucho sabor and knows how to do it!!!!!! Everything was delicious, flavors were great and nothing sat on my stomach which sometimes happens with tacos for me. The truck is in the middle of a dirt lot right by the highway but it's a decent location and you will definitely see it driving by. These were great, I doubt we will be in the area anytime soon, but if you are you should definitely give them a try. read more

We seen this food truck last time we stopped by at Smoky Bones (pls read my review for that establishment). Yesterday, decided to order from this food truck. First thing is the owner tells me they close at 8pm, not 7pm as seen on Yelp. My wife got the 3 Mongolian beef tacos with corn tortillas. She did mention that the beef was too salty and I tasted a bit and do agree. My son got the Birria tacos which is beef taco dipped in adobo sauce corn tortilla. It came with some type of dipping sauce on the side which was amazing. I got the rice bowl with fish. Overall for a food truck, the food was pretty good and it held up well commuting wise. Based on today's visit, I will give it 4 stars and do recommend for others. read more

I passed this place heading to work and something told me to circle back. Wow! Everything was super tasty and the food was ready quickly. Apparently they even have an app for faster order and pick up which is very convenient if your on the go. It's right off the 495 and very accessible. The Mongolian beef tacos were my favorite so far. The Mexican street corn was pretty good too could use a bit more seasoning but I think we do pleas r with my lunch I order more for the ride back home. Right Coast is in fact the right coast for the tacos on the east coast. These tacos are on the side of the highway in a food truck and they're incredible. If you need a quick bite and need a quick taco, this is the spot. The guys in the taco truck love their lives because when we saw their faces after our gracious tip, their eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. It feels like SoCal or New Mexico. A Taco Truck Perfectly arranged at the corner of the service road with its own picnic area? Say less- I'm in all summer. I followed foodie advise & went with an order of the Mongolian Beef Tacos with a Side of Rice & Beans. My bf had a chicken burrito with chips & queso. We shared a Mexican Cola & baked in the sun while we waited. The Mongolian Beef sauce is THICK. I'm super glad I got the rice & beans to off set the sweetness. It was crispy & simple: flour tortilla, ensalada & the beef. After a few bites I decided to just stuff the left over tacos with rice & beans bc there was no way to offset the sauce-- it's piercing. (There's Birria on the menu!) Rice & Beans coming in for the five star save! RARELY is there a moist perfect fluffy rice that I enjoy so much I ask myself-- Can my bf see me shoveling this into my face & is it going to spark him to ask me for some?! I finally turn to check on him & he's half way scarfed down his burrito STUFFED with the same fluffy rice. Couldn't even snag a pic kinda good! The QUESO-- I repeat-- GET the QUESO !!! So I can't find the actual location bc the location I'm technically reviewing isn't open yet, they'll be open soon in Setauket but for now they're operating a food truck right next to the almost ready to open establishment. I've been to the one in deer park and enjoyed it so here's my novel of a review...I've tried several items and here's my thoughts Mongolian Beef Taco:an easy win, I've had this a few times, seems to be my go to, love the textures and flavors. Thai Chicken Taco: this just might be my new favorite, I'm pretty sure they use chicken thighs bc I wanted to eat every single morsel of chicken and that's usually not how chicken breast makes me feel bc it's bland and boring unlike thighs bc they are the best part of the chicken (also very juicy), it's grilled has this amazing spicy peanut sauce on it along with cabbage and cilantro, if you're pinching pennies or just want to grab a bite that will fill you up THIS is the taco I would choose bc it's very filling. Fish Taco: I was not a fan of this taco, it was mushy, I might give it another shot bc I tried it when they first opened the truck (a solid year ago maybe more) but it was a disappointment and fish tacos are usually a winner even as subpar establishments. Birria Taco: the meat in this is fantastic but I'll admit I like Long Island Taco and Chicos (basically the same vibes they used to be business partners then split off) birria tacos a little more... RC version seems to be lacking in something but it felt a little mushy like the juices weren't fully fried into the corn tortilla. This leads me to the birria soup: it's actually pretty darn good but there's no tortilla flavor it's just the meat filling in the broth, it would help if they served lime and chips with this at least to make it taste more birria like, it really felt like a brisket or broth not a birria soup. Shrimp Taco: I was a little dubious bc my experience with the fish one but this was straight up amazing and as someone who thinks crab meat is superior I actually found myself appreciating the shrimp texture in this it wasn't rubbery at all and the fried coating was perfection, it's why I feel another shot at the fish taco would be worth it if it's anything like the shrimp taco on a good day, loved the spicy creamy stuff they used it packs quite a punch. The crunch taco thing: this has the brisket and queso in it... I didn't like this but I suspect many people will I just didn't like the way the queso and brisket tasted together texturally... the mouthfeel bothered me, but all the flavors were excellent, if the idea of liquid cheese and pulled beef swimming together doesn't bother you give it a go. read more

I have heard so many great things about this place. I did not have a great experience. I ordered delivery and the only thing I got that was even vaguely good was the chips. The salsa tasted metallic. The tacos were all over cooked and the shrimp was fishy in a bad way. The pork was too fatty to eat and the beef was completely over cooked and overly sweet. The rice and beans were salty. All in all... there is nothing that I enjoyed. read more

I found this food truck on my way home and decided to try it. The food is very good. The location is good but tricky as it sits on a busy service road, so you must be quick when turning into the parking lot where the truck sits. Again, the food is very good, from the tacos to nachos to the Guacamole chips. I will say Guacamole is fresh and handmade. You should download the app called "Right Coast Taqueria" The truck has three locations: 1. Plainview Hospital, 2. Deer Park, 3.Ronkonkoma. Ordering ahead via mobile app will save you much time waiting as the Ronkonkoma location gets extremely busy. Finally! Someone on Long Island knows how to make good tacos! And it's at a food truck! I know I'm spoiled because living in Los Angeles meant I could throw a rock and hit an excellent taco spot. Before we gave this food truck a try, after a summer beach day, we were El Sen'or taco regulars. No longer. El Sen'or is overpriced & underwhelming compared to this "Mexican Street Food" truck. Have been there a dozen times since, or so, and they never disappoint. My go to is now "Taco Tuesday" 3/ $10. Chicken Thai tacos are my fave, but beef tacos are close second. Rice & beans are great also. Online ordering is a lil wonky, so the wife or I will just drive up on the way home. Never waited longer than 15 minutes for a walk up order. It is the norm to spend upwards of :30 min even w/ a "call ahead" @ El Sen'or. And the guys in the truck are nicer than the Sen'or staff (who always seem like you're bothering them by ordering)? I have always had a good experience coming to this place and never had any issues with food, I placed an online order and went to go pick up my food after working a 10 hour shift. I picked up the food and rushed home excited to eat everything just to find out I'm missing two items so I had to drive all the way back to pick them up. After driving 45 minutes I realized the tacos I had weren't even good to eat so I asked for fresh tacos to be made. The girl rudely shut me down and was giving me attitude for something she messed up! It was actually unbelievable. An idea of how the conversation went, the girl (with attitude) asked me why I didn't eat my tacos yet... and I tell her because the whole reason I got all this food was to eat it all together and she goes in the most snarkiest way, "how is it my fault" like I'm sorry how is it mine?!? She's the one who is supposed to make sure all the food is together and double checked before handing it off. I DON'T recommend coming here, all Iwas left with was horrible service and crappy cold tacos. Recently tried this taco truck at long island farm brewery. After waiting almost an hour to order 1 tray of nachos, i got a bunch of chips with no cheese/toppings underneath the top. When i went back and informed the owner that the nachos were not very well layered because there was barely any cheese, she got extremely rude and almost offended. Based on quality, price, and the customer service i would not get again. Overpriced and overrated. read more

For a lunch truck one would expect a level of mediocrity and averageness that plagues most food trucks, but the right coast taqueria deserves to be a chain restaurant with valet parking and a two week wait to get a reservation. RCT food is better than anything I've eaten in a long time and this includes my resent trip to Cancun. I could name everything they serve but their on line menu or their app will walk you through it. where ever you are on Long Island, it's worth the trip to find them. From chips and salsa to Mongolian beef tacos the food is as perfect as you could hope for. Perfect seasoning, perfect temperature and even though presented in a cardboard travel container the food looks perfectly appetizing as well. I found them by accident one day when the food truck park down the road from my house and I find I've eaten there twice in as many weeks and I know I'll be eating there a lot more often. The service is fast but since people are discovering the stop, the wait has gotten longer. Do yourself a favor, make it a stop on your way out to the Hamptons at exit 60 and try it or visit the brick and mortar in deer park on Commack road.
