A colleague recommended this place for fish tacos. Got the fish tacos, shrimp taco, spicy shrimp corn chowder soup and shared a land and sea burrito. Love the surfing and beachy theme decor. Service was very friendly. The lines can get long and seating can be hard to get during busy dinner hour. We managed to get a table and enjoyed our food there. Fish tacos were delicious and was piping hot. The land and sea burrito was huge but perfect for sharing. I agree with a few of the reviews that mentioned the steak was a little chewy and hard but overall still tasty. The shrimp taco was great, loved the mango and pineapple on it. I haven't been to Bubba's in years - I remembered that it was a fast casual spot and was with my family for a quick bite coming home from a night at the beach. What a mistake! For a fast casual joint, this place was as slow as could be. A burrito bowl, kids chicken fingers and a salad took 45 minutes. Considering it was 7:45 pm on a Monday, I absolutely did not expect such a long wait for our food. When the food finally came out, it was nothing to write home about. Portions were on the small side, but more than anything I was thoroughly shocked about the long wait time. Today I had bbq chicken quesadilla it was different but good it was just chicken and cheese but next time I'll stick to my burrito the have different kinds from steak and shrimp called the land and sea or chicken ones and so on. They also sell tacos and bowls if you like. It's a nice place to go when it's nice you may sit outside or any given day you can lodge inside. They now have a bar with a tv. Bubba's was my families go to place for years. Today we ordered for my mom's birthday and we were all disappointed. I paid for numerous different sauces and only rec'd half the amount. A beloved spot by many, I for one have been coming here since my teens and they are still killing it. When they were closed for renovation my heart ached for another burrito. Thankfully they are now open most days of the week. I have sampled a few of their burritos over the last few years so let me break them down. Buffalo - As expected. Nice chunks of chicken, good buffalo sauce that really comes through, seasoned rice and fries. Everything you want in a buffalo chicken burrito. Guilt Trip - Chicken tenders, fries, mozzarella sticks, cheese, bacon, baja sauce. Guilty as sin. To nitpick though, it falls a bit dry due to all the carbs loaded into it. I suggest asking for extra sauce on this one specifically. Brotato - The superior of the grease burritos. Marinated steak, onion rings, cheese, fries, bacon, and bayou sauce. I'm unsure what bayou sauce is but it is delicious ask for extra! Land & Sea - Surprisingly this has become my go-to. Seasoned rice, steak, shrimp, and baja sauce, a simple yet well executed burrito and they load it with meat. My favorite place for crazy burritos with a small focused menu, every burrito I've had has been a hit. I look forward to many more years of Bubba's. Oh yeah call ahead! It can get congested inside. We always loved Bubbas and ordered take out last night after not having visited in a long time. Sadly it has gone way down hill! The wait was always long as the food is prepared fresh but this time was absurd. I waited over 50 minutes and the food was terrible! My chicken fajita salad was completely flavorless as if they forgot to add any seasonings. The chicken was very tough and dry as wood and oddly the onions and peppers had no taste! My daughter's steak burrito was also awful. Steak was tough as nails and flavor was lacking. So sad. read more

First time to Bubba's and I already can't wait to go back to try more things! Casual spot with a cool surfer vibe. There's a full bar on one side of the space with a few booths and high tops on the other. Didn't do cocktails or drinks today but the bar has a solid selection of beers on tap, as well as a seasonal drink menu. Food service is efficient and no frills. You order at the counter and choose a seat while you wait. We had a fajita burrito which was big but not ridiculously so that you couldn't eat it. In fact, the burritos are more compact than anything else. Literally heavy to hold, but still fit in your hand. Two tacos rounded out the meal: a classic ground beef which was everything you want in a classic taco and nothing you don't, and a border style grilled chicken taco which had a little pico, cabbage and lime. We opted for hard shells (I know I know, 'inauthentic'...whatever), and they were homemade and delicious. The Border Style taco could've used a little more moisture...it was a pretty dry bite but the flavor was on point. The lime didn't help the dryness because it was clearly sliced earlier in the day and lacking in any squeezable juice. Lots of places need reminding that limes have to be sliced per order so aside from that VERY minor inconvenience, Bubba's was great. We'll definitely be back to explore cocktails and more food options. Absolutely recommend! read more

Great California tex-mex vibe, burrito joint, located on main street. I've been coming here for years, and the food never disappoints. I'll start by saying everything is huge; the burritos, the bowls, even the quesadillas; there are all big, and honestly, most things can be split if you have a normal appetite. Some of our favorites are the buffalo burrito, naked burrito, and the land and sea. If you're feeling a little on the extra fat side, the obomer is also delicious. They also have a nice selection of apps with the buffalo empanadas being our favorite. Chips and guac are always nice as well. Came back from a long day of traveling. Decided on Bubba' always a good burrito. We placed our order. Had to get the " mound nachos ( sounded amazing) as well to share with my husband. Sooo looking forward to those! The menus stated "loaded". What I got was pile of soggy chips and some cheese. Nothing like what I was expecting. Disappointed wanted them so bad Our burritos where good. But not great this time. I did call just to ask if I ordered correctly. The girl stated I should of got things on the side. Bubbas has always been one of my fave burrito places. I first came here back in 2018 and always come back when I'm in the area. Their burritos pack so much flavor with simple ingredients. My favorite is the land and sea burrito! I love their take on the sauce in the burrito is so yum !! Service has always been good. Everyone there is very nice and super friendly. I have never had bad service coming here. The space is so cute. They have surf boards on the ceiling which gives it that beach town vibe. It's a very clean place and clean bathrooms. They have indoor seating and a full bar. They also have outdoor seating in the summer. Their outdoor seating is pretty big as they have seating in the front and back of the restaurant. I will say i got their chips and guac and it was pretty mediocre. The guac needed some more acidity and cilantro. But they did give a big portion of guac (see in pic). Overall love this place, I'd just skip on getting guac. read more

Apartment hunting can be exhausting, especially in a different state. However, after signing our lease, we were excited to see what the community had to offer, in terms of food. We came across Bubba' s Burrito Bar and safe to say we are excited to come back. Food 5/5: let me start off by saying that these burritos are massive. I didn't know what to expect as I walked in and placed my order. I saw a couple people eating their burritos outside and saw that they were packed. I ordered the Idaho because I love potatos inside my burrito (a habit I have picked up from Taco Bell). The portions are large and one burrito could definitely be two meals or shared depending on your appetite. This place is also excellent for vegetarians. Service 5/5: I particularly loved eating here because while I was waiting for my food, 3 different staff members asked me if I needed anything and checked on my food for me. It was very nice to see, especially as a stranger who is moving into the area. They all had smiles on their faces and willing to help me. Ambience 5/5: what a well decorated restaurant. It basically has all the vibes of a beach bar without being on the beach. I loved the look of the interior, however there was no indoor seating. We did eat outside in the back and while it was not the prettiest, we didn't mind as the food was good and we were excited to eat. Service: Accommodating. They were so nice and accommodated for all the changes I had to my order. With Covid, they do not allow for in door seating and have barriers in front of the registers. If you can finish the burritos, you will be in a food coma, so plan ahead. Food: Brotato (Marinated steak, fresh-cut fried potatoes, onion rings, shredded cheese blend, and bacon topped with bayou sauce) - MUST HAVE. The tenderness of the steak and the combination of everything else was so good. I drizzled the queso over this and it is the biggest game changer! Guilt Trip (Chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fresh-cut fried potatoes, bacon, shredded cheese blend, and sour cream topped with baja sauce) - Food Coma. This is not for the faint of hearts. It is over the top with the amount of food that comes in it. I would suggest swaping out the fries with rice to make it slightly less greasy. I have heard a lot about Bubba's and today was the day we went. We ordered the Buffalo Burrito and the Guilt Trip. They were both delicious, and great portions. The Buffalo Burrito was more traditional as it had rice in it. The Guilt trip was more like a wrap as it didn't have rice, but had fries / chicken / bacon. Both were equally delicious and I would definitely go back. They also have a bar area which is where we are. I mostly pick up but I've had delivery over a 20 times and my order was only wrong once. That's pretty impressive. They rectified the issue immediately AND re-delivered. After reading all the great reviews I was expecting have some awesome tacos! I knew it would be crowded based on the reviews. When we arrived line was at the door. No table service so if you come with two people one stands on line while the other hunts down a table. If you sit at the bar you get full service. You can order your food and drinks there. I noticed those at the bar getting their food orders before others although they arrived later. I was standing for 45 mins waiting for my order so yeah I had plenty of time to observe hahahah! They have such an outdated system they should have buzzers to let people know to get their order when they are ready. No tables were available inside so we sat outside in the back unfortunately no intercom so they told me I would have no choice but to stand and wait inside until my number was called. I ordered 1 steak, 1 fish (baja sauce was great) and 1 beef. None of my tacos wowed me. Pretty mediocre tacos don't understand the hype at all! Steak was chewy and tough. Maybe burritos is their thing plenty ordered that. I definitely won't be back tacos are just okay but not worth all that wait! 2 stars for okay tacos and 3 stars off based on outdated system for orders and long wait times. I've been wanting to come here for years...literally. I finally came for lunch. After a quick look over the menu I decided on getting the land and sea burrito. It had Marinated steak, grilled shrimp, and brown rice, topped with baja sauce. However, I wanted it with chicken INSTEAD of steak. When I called to put in my order, the girl on the phone didn't say much. When I asked her if could have chicken INSTEAD of steak, she didn't say yes OR no..she just said, "It will be ready in 20 mins." When I got off the phone I wasn't sure if my burrito was going to be correct or not as she didn't acknowledge anything. When I got back to the office the burrito was correct. Being the size that it was, it should have been cut in half. It was just okay in flavor. MAINLY rice...little chicken, and maybe 4 shrimp. After looking at my reciept I noticed that I was charged $4 MORE than what the menu says. I contacted the manager/owner who got back to me fairly quickly stating that I was charged to ADD chicken as an additional protein instead of the chicken just being a substitute. He offered me a credit, which I did take as I would like to try something else. The workers do need to be trained a little better in my opinion when it comes to things like this. read more

Definitely a local favorite for casual, delicious, over-the-top burritos! Came here with my husband. We got the brotato and guilt trip. Both were awesome. We each ordered 1, cut them in half and shared so we could each try. I wasn't even close to finishing. So dense and flavorful, but SO MUCH FOOD. If you're taking to go, perfect. Bubba's has been a consistent staple for flavorful tacos, burritos, and quesadillas for my family for the last 5 years or so. A prior renovation/expansion added some size and polish to the location (it gives off a bit of a south shore beach shack vibe), while the food has remained consistently excellent. The tacos are a little small but priced accordingly, allowing a good mix and match while each has a distinct flavor palate. Chips are excellent (good texture, a bit of a crunch, and just the right amount of salt) but equally sold in smaller bags - definitely get at least two for a family dinner. The real stars of the show are the burritos. These are extra-large, packed-to-the-gills with meats, cheeses, fried potatoes (which are incredible additions!), sauces, and more. I particularly like the steak and buffalo chicken, but have also enjoyed the ground beef which is flavorful without being greasy. Pricing out a meal can look a bit more expensive than a bargain Mexican place, but most of the time I eat 50-60% of a burrito and have a free lunch the next day (they heat up wonderfully baking in a toaster over).
