The burritos and tacos are fire at Mexican Grill 2000. This is a must for my family and I everytime we go to Sam's Club in Medford. My go to burrito is the Gigante with steak. Black beans and hot sauce. The Gigante comes with peppers, rice, queso. My w8fe loves the shrimp tacos and the chicken torta sandwich. If you do not know exactly where this place is you need to use your maps as it is a side store that does not face the road. I called ahead ordered food to go and when we walked in it was not yet ready. We ordered a steak burrito supreme with sour cream, a fish taco, a shrimp taco and a chicken taco along with a cheese quesadilla and a veggie quesadilla. We brought the food to the house which is less than 4 minutes away. The burrito supreme we asked for sour cream did not have any sour cream and it was dry the burrito would get 3 stars. My first taco was by far my favorite which was the fish taco - 5 starts for this. It was delicious! The shrimp taco was dry and bland and my least favorite with a 1.5 star for this one. The chicken taco was pretty decent. The chicken was red-ish, I guess from the spices they use. But by now I realized I needed to load up with some sour cream and salsa from the veggie quesadilla so it was not dry. This taco gets 3 stars - although it surely would have been dry with out the extra stuff that I added to it myself. The tacos were all made with 2 corn tortilla's each. I tried to separate the corn tortilla so that I only ate 1 corn tortilla per taco but they were attached almost, and you had to rip the corn tortilla to separate them. The veggie quesadilla was soggy and mushy. I am going to assume they sauté the vegetables in oil or butter then put them in with the cheese to make the quesadilla. It was thrown in the garbage. The cheese quesadilla the person who ordered that said it was good. With all the good reviews, I guess I had higher expectations. Went here because of the great reviews. Unfortunately the tacos were not good. The steak meat was over cooked,dry and flavorless. When I asked for their hottest sauce (red) it was season with something that tasted like smoke ham. When I changed my shot sauce to green It did not improve the taste the quality of the Mediocre tacos. Very disappointed. Probably the worst tacos I ever tasted. I was having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. And not in a funny children's book sort of way. It was one of those days that helps you understand why you sometimes see people crying in public. The kind of day that makes random acts of violence seem more reasonable. Sure, it could've just been that I was hungry. I can't say for sure, but that theory is supported by the fact that a Mexican Grill 2000 burrito made it better. Not all better, but much, much better. This thing was a solid log of onions, peppers, cheese, sour cream, guac, charbroiled chicken, and FLAVOR. The chicken had a slightly orange tinge like the best tandoori, and the burrito as a whole was well-balanced, juicy, and perfect with the judicious application of various items from their fresh salsa bar (including a squeeze of lime or three). After a few bites, I felt much, much better. After stuffing the entire thing into my face, I felt way too full, but also far less likely to murder anyone on the drive home. I think we can all thank Mexican Grill 2000 for that. Especially that old lady that cut me off when I was getting back on the highway (I almost nunchucked her...she didn't even realize). read more

Carne asada burrito- on point delicious Chips & Guacamole fresh.... 2- Chicken quesadilla- not good, dry and had no flavor. 3- Ground Beef taco or street taco- not good, flavorless 4- Shrimp taco- dry, no flavor, and tortillas were dry as well on all tacos. 5- Steak tacos- meat was dry and no flavor. All in all, the burritos was the only dish that was good. So if you want a good burrito Mexican Grill 2000 has it down. Great prices for everything! Employees wearing masks and gloves. Was searching for an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area so I took to Yelp. This place gets awesome reviews and I trust my fellow yelpers! My mom and I got the shrimp burritos- we both really enjoyed them. My dad got shrimp tacos and they were good too. With orders over $25 you get free chips and salsa. The chips were perfectly crunchy (not stale) and the salsa was spicy (which I like). I will be back to try more for sure! read more

Excellent authentic Mexican place with very fresh food and killer music! Not a fancy place, but sometimes these places have the best food. Went here on a Wednesday for lunch and they became very busy during the lunch rush but the food came out pretty fast. We got a chicken quesadilla, a beef burrito, jalapeño poppers and chips with guacamole and everything was very good. Staff was friendly and we felt very welcome there. One thing I would change is the way the quesadilla is cut: I prefer triangles instead of strips because strips are hard to eat. The cheese was good but I would have liked a little more chicken in there. The burrito was HUGE and there was a good amount of meat too. Guac and salsa was very fresh tasting. The name sounds like a futuristic Spanish movie, but that's probably the polar opposite of what lies inside of Mexican Grill 2000. If you're looking for an authentic, tasty Mexi-meal, then you've hit the nail on the head. Tons of fellow Yelpers have rocked a review at MG2000 and proclaimed greatness which led me into this tiny spot (pushed back a bit) on Route 112. Mild ethnic decor, a few tables and the mini salsa bar makes up the inside. So it's not lavish dining that's taking place, but who cares? It's all about the comida! Plenty of mouthwatering Mexi-options to choose from, though I stuck with the two simplest selections in tacos and a burrito. I had read of huge sizes and was a bit hesitant to order a burrito AND three tacos, but food amount played out well, especially with having a second mouth to assist me (girlfriend). The order was a Mexican Grill burrito with chicken, a chorizo taco, chicken taco, and a taco al pastor. Food was ready in a jiffy and then it was over to the salsa bar to grab a few toppings. Mild and hot salsa along with jalapeños, pico, and a grilled tomato salsa that was spot on (the girlfriend's favorite). Burrit-oh-my-god. It was as good as everyone said! The chicken! The cheese! The guac! Everything worked so well together and the moist rice brought it all home. The tacos? They were fresh and tasty with a nice hint of cilantro, but the tortillas were a little off as were the side of chips that were a bit stale. It equates to a star off, but that won't stop me from swinging back in. Overall, Mexican Grill 2000 lived up to almost all the high expectations that this tiny gem emanated. This Mexican food is bursting with flavor and the portions are fairly large. The taco el rancho is fantastic. They're pretty large, and covered in all the classic toppings you could want. Those are by far the winners in the taco section. The second best were the fish tacos swimming in a delicious sauce. The shrimp and steak tacos were fairly mediocre in comparison. The burritos were also different and amazing- the fajita being our favorite (so juicy and fresh). Highly recommend. Love, love, LOVE this place. Don't let the surrounding area and outside front fool you, this is authentic Mexican food and you can tell once you eat it. I've tried plenty of things from the menu but I have to say the tacos (chicken, fish, steak, or tongue.. yes, tongue) are all delicious. They're fresh and hot, made right when you order them. The shrimp burrito was litereally the size of my forearm..and in this case, size matters. I didn't want this thing to end! It's packed with full peices of shrimp, fresh avocado, salsa, cheese, ugh...I'm hungry just thinking about it. Oh, and their salsa is amazing.. full of cilantro flavor, chunks of tomato and onion...I might have to stop there after work. I haven't ordered anything here I wasn't 110% satisfied with. You can dine in or take out, but the dining room is small and has a tendency to fill up around dinner time on certain days. The food is ready quick, it's cheap, and it's real Mexican cuisine. My wife and I ordered a bunch of tacos, Tacos al Pastor, fish, steak and shrimp. I also ordered Chicken Flautas. Flautas are like a long, deep fried rolled taco is how I can best explain it. Add chips, fresh guac and an iced horchata? Makes this an unbelievable lunch! The shrimp fish was very fresh, it did make it for a good taco and I will order it again. The corn tortillas were made perfectly. If there are any authentic claim, its with the tortillas shells. The corn tortillas add a nuttiness to the taco, it makes you want to try more. From the fresh salsa, guacamole and chips and tacos. I think the name should be just "Mexican Grill", what's with the 2000?? Just a side note, how do you think Mamma Lombardis started? I worked there during high school. It was a small restaurant that blew up into a larger restaurant, catering halls, market and country clubs. Being within walking distance of Mexi Grill is great however, I never walk..... I wouldn't get it fast enough! What's great is I can call up, drive down the road, and it will be hot and ready within a few minutes. If you can brave the day of the dead appearance it isn't just sugar skulls and grave stones. If you're familiar with the holiday it involves marigolds and fan favorite foods... That's what you'll experience here, the chicken is authentically seasons (it's orange like the marigolds) and the food is certainly a favorite amongst the souls who enter. The fajita burrito tastes just as it should I suppose, super charred and rustic. I prefer the burrito with the rice n beans over the mushrooms and peppers in the fajita version. I stick to the 'burrito gigante' (hold the peppers) most times and split it over two meals (yeah it really is gigantic) The black bean soup is also huge, both in size and flavor. I dig the use of fresh beans. Maybe add a lil pico as I do, it's packed with cilantro and fresh flavor so you won't be let down. The torta is on point, as is the quesadilla but do yourself a favor and be sure to get the fish tacos! Probably one my favorites for sure, if I was good at choosing favorites. I wouldn't skip a steak taco el rancho either, so darn good! FYI they've got horchata, not quite like homemade but real good and almost there. As well a real tasty tamarind drink that doesn't overdo it on the unique fruit that can sometimes be way too overbearing. We came here because we love Mexican food, the reviews were great, and Yelp usually gets it right - until this time. To be fair, the salsa was 5-star good and that is why I give this place 3 stars. The eating area is grimy, with decorations laden in thick dust and walls that could use a thorough cleaning. The salsa bar is a nice addition, but the signage on it reads, "LIMIT FOUR SALSA CUPS PER ORDER THANK YOU!!!" I cannot imagine salsa-hoarding, as great as it was, is such a problem the proprietor would need to display such an off-putting and unwelcoming message. Unless...people take too much salsa because the flavor in the meat needs to be amped up? The tacos here were just okay, even with the outstanding salsa. Tacos are pretty basic and, imho, reveal the flavor capabilities of a place. When I eat at a Mexican joint, I always order a chorizo taco and a pork taco because I think tacos are telltale food; if the staple taco isn't a flavorful, stand alone experience, I don't put much confidence in the rest of the menu. Looking back, I see positive reviews were for gigantic burritos.
