The vehicle was fully functional when I arrived, no problem on the keys at all! After an inspection, I was given a quote of over $2k which I declined as it was far too expensive for the issue. After waiting a long time to get my car back, I went to ask what was going on and was told my car wouldn't start, and they didn't know why. They insisted the issue was likely related to an ignition problem they had mentioned during a visit back in August -- even though I explained that problem had already been resolved, and my car was working perfectly when I brought it in (besides the noise) They kept pushing me to leave the car and pay them to investigate, despite my repeated explanations. I also asked to speak with the shop owners and was refused, with no proper resolution offered. After three hours of back and forth, I finally called a tow truck to remove my car from the shop. When the tow arrived, we discovered the real reason it wouldn't start: They opened my key and removed the chip inside. This is completely unacceptable and deeply dishonest. Any reputable business should operate with transparency and integrity, this place clearly does not. I do not recommend this shop under any circumstances! read more

So I'm giving 5 starts because I'm smart enough to decline extra service. But, if I wasn't and allowed them to charge me for a water pump replacement, they would've charged me over $1200...keep in mind that a water pump kit is $45 on eBay. So yes, it's very very very overpriced, I understand they have to make money but there's no exception for something that outrageous. It will take me maybe an hour to do that job on my own, but I will give them credit for not charging me for the inspection. They were good on that and charged me only $40 for a synethic oil change, which is very good. So I do think they are 5 stars, just please don't let them up charge you for everything they could possibly do, that's where they make their money for sure. read more

I went there in Oct. to get their oil change special! Yes they have great reviews but let me tell you what happened to me! I ended up spending over $1,500.00 for repairs on my back brakes, calipers, hoses & the emergency brake that they said "rusted off!" It was $500.00 more from a quote I was given for the brakes, pads, calipers & hoses and that I gave my consent to when I was there! They said on one of the shocks it was missing a sleeve from another place that I just had it fixed in Feb.! Calia said that they didn't want to rip me off & charge me again to fix it & they stand by their work! She said that I couldn't drive the car as it was a hazard & suggested strongly I get it fixed & not drive it anymore! She said that it was cheaper to get my car fixed then to buy a used one which is more than a new one! Which btw I found cars cheaper than what they sell theirs as! Then she went on to say that if I didn't get the calipers & hoses replaced & something happens to them a couple months later which she had first hand knowledge in past experiences! Then the warranty on the brakes would be null & void & I'd have to pay for new ones again! Too bad that I didn't call the mechanic I used in the past that I know is honest to see if it was okay to drive it there & if there was a dire need to get it fixed there & not drive it anymore! Calia was very nice & spent a lot of time talking to me & even called the place I had my shocks replaced at & found out that they won't charge me to get it fixed right! (But didn't seem to be as attentive after) I could even take my car back there to make sure they were put on correctly this time! Even though they gave me a loaner for the weekend at no charge, it was filthy! I was told the car would be ready on Monday & it wasn't! Then Tues. "By the end of the day!" I never got a call that day either, so it went to Weds. afternoon! They didn't say what the hold up was! Just for ordering parts I was told on Monday! I did ask about my rusted wheels & mud flaps, which she couldn't get the right mud flap to fit! And the wheels "to keep an eye on them!" But didn't tell me that until I went in to pick it up! I asked about a vehicle that was for sale on their website earlier but wasn't told anything until I asked about it again! Then was told that it was sold a week ago by Todd, the sales manager! We went outside to look at a car that was in a front end accident as he asked me how much I can spend & I told him! I wasn't impressed with him & he looked dirty like he worked in the back with the mechanics! Plus he had a bleeding chin! There's no warranty on their vehicles & he didn't know how much it would be extra & would have to look it up! He got called away! I didn't feel comfortable in the car & my son & I went to sit in my car! Then Todd asked about the car! He said that the mechanics are supposed to look the car over to make sure everything is okay on it! He swore by their high end repair center, compared to where I purchased my car! When we first got there my car was up by the entrance & I put the things back that were in the rental! There were black marks in the drivers seat that I asked if they could clean it! They don't use coverings? They asked me how I knew there were marks on my seat? Now that I have my car, it doesn't drive the same as it doesn't have the gid up & go as it did before! Also there's an exhaust smell inside the car! The shift from park to drive doesn't shift right & skips now! The engine idling doesn't sound the same & rough now! I don't have money to keep continually put into my car! I'm on a fixed income! I have an appt. for Mon. to check the shifter but worried that they will find something else wrong with it again! I asked the other woman that answered about if the other place puts on my shocks & something goes wrong then is it null and void for the brakes, etc.? She said "No!" Not sure if they are as honest as what they say they are! Their cars on the lot are priced on the high end for not having any warranty! At least where I got my car from there's a 3 month warranty! Recently my car was looked at by another place & I was told everything was okay! Shocks are fine! But the calipers & hoses shouldn't have had to be replaced & doesn't affect the warranty on the brakes! Just a rip off that they way over charged me! The labor charge isn't put on the paperwork for some reason unknown! DON'T GO HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF, SPEND A LOT OF MONEY AND LIED TO! read more

My boyfriend bought me an Impala from Righteous Autos in Racine. The car looked good and seemed to run fine. The next morning the car wouldn't start it just made this funny noise over and over again. I called the Righteous auto about it and they said he bought the car as is and wouldn't even look at it, in fact they hung up on me when I trying to talk to them. I went to Righteous Auto on a rainy day last week to ask someone to put a little air in my tire, the back of the shop was empty however i was able to see a gentleman in the front of the shop so I walked toward him, he immediately stopped me and demanded to know what I wanted. I responded and proceeded to scold me like a child that I am not allowed in the garage..OK i understood, if their were cars on the lift I certainly wouldn't have walked through the garage but the air is in the garage and I would have needed to pull my car around back anyway...he proceeded to tell me that he's the owner blah blah blah blah. Perhaps I was wrong or just didn't think but there is no sign upon entrance of the garage stating employees only. The "owner" yelled for an employee and said something that was very private and personal in front of me...at that point I knew I would NEVER be back. No wonder he only has 1 review. The owner is a jerk and shouldn't be dealing with customers. The employee apologized for the "owners" behavior, put air in my tire and I drove away. read more

I have spent a quite a few thousands of dollars at Righteous Auto within the past 2 years. I usually would drop my car off on a Friday evening to be worked on for Saturday by appointment, and no matter how small the job is, they seem to never have it done until the very end of the day. I have never gotten calls saying my car is ready, unless I call them. It seems like there is only one mechanic working on cars per day, which would explain the delays. The owner, Paul, ALWAYS seems grumpy and non approachable. I don't need a hug or a smile when I come in, but he was always short with me and gave me short answers. He always seems to be in a bad mood. Also, at times, he charged me for labor that took longer than what the job should have been. Mechanic issue there, but I still paid the price. Ultimately, at the end of the day, (literally) my cars were fixed. No pun intended. I paid out the pockets and some to get my cars fixed up because I trusted them. You may have better luck with them, but I will not be using Righteous Auto anymore for any repairs. read more
