Strip mall location, bare bones interior with drop down ceiling and fluorescent lights, about seven tables... and hands down the best BBQ in metro Atlanta. These guys concentrate on the food and it shows. Food is cooked out in the open behind the strip mall store front. Pulled pork is literally pulled near the front of the restaurant. Righteous Que used to be one of my favorite restaurants around. I really enjoyed going in and chatting with the friendly staff and the food was great as well. But the staff has changed dramatically over time now the guy who is there at night when the owners are gone is fairly rude and not friendly at all. I really miss the redhead that used to work there he was friendly and very helpful. But now I don't go very often because it just isn't the same. read more

We have eaten at Righteous'Que 2 times and it did not disappoint. The first time we had the brisket plate with two sides. The beans were very tasty. The mac and cheese was just okay. The second time we ate the pulled pork sandwich with one side. We were given a generous portion of pork on the sandwich. Very friendly staff. This is an update to my review below: The owner contacted me directly within days of this last review and offered to have me come in and have lunch on him. I did not take him up on his offer but it does go a long way in showing he's interested in feedback and is willing to make things right. I've eaten at Righteous Que at least 4 times since my first experience and my initial review. Most likely, my last visit will probably be the last time I eat there. Although i thought the portions were small and didn't reflect the price I was raving about the brisket. One of the best things I've eaten. Since then I've purchased the brisket every time and it was no better than what I made at home. In some cases, worse than what I've made at home and I dint smoke brisket that much. Since my first visit was at lunch and the next two were dinner I thought it was because the brisket was dried out by dinner. So, i went twice during lunch. No better. Although it had a nice smokey flavor it was dry to the point of being chalky. As a result you had to load it up with bbq sauce. I'm not against paying $10 for a sandwich, side, and a drink but it better be a decent portion and it better be good. I'd also like to apologize to those that went to Righteous Que as a result of my raving about the brisket. Sadly, those that went experienced the same dry brisket that i did. Very nice people. I hope they get their mojo back and do well. Unfortunately for them it wont be with my money. read more

I've been here twice and have not been disappointed. Each time I had the chicken sandwich which had a more than generous portion of chicken and was moist and tasty. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich and a sampler and enjoyed both. The mac n cheese is really good but can be a bit greasy from all the cheese. The soda and tea have free refills which is great. The BBQ sauce is tasty, not too sweet and not too vinegary. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We would visit more often if we lived closer. read more

So I had planed to stop by the publix in the same shopping center and get something from the deli for lunch but I followed my nose instead and discovered this nice little BBQ joint. The place is small and there are several little tables for dining in. The menu was written on the wall behind the counter and the prices seem reasonable for a BBQ joint. We ordered the chicken plate and veggie plate (side dishes). The chicken is super tender and the sides are all very good, although a little salty for my taste but they really have one of the best Brunswick stew and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese tasted like it had some kind of ranch seasoning on it. Will definitely have to go back and try their ribs and brisket. read more

I had heard about this place when they first opened & finally checked them out today. As others have mentioned, it's a strip mall spot and on the smallish side. However, the food is excellent & the service is prompt & friendly. I tried the pork plate with Brunswick Stew & Mac & Cheese as my sides. I don't claim to be a BBQ expert, and I haven't been to that many of the local BBQ spots in Woodstock & East Cobb, but I can tell you that everything I ate was delicious. The pork was nice & moist. The stew had a great taste to it & wasn't too bitter. Also, the mac & cheese reminded me of a church covered dish dinner. It was top notch with some nice cheesy crust. I topped this off with some excellent banana pudding. 18 bucks well spent (also had sweet tea- as you should when eating barbecue!). I tried both the white & red sauces. Liked them both, but preferred the red. I'll definitely be back & highly recommend this place to anyone who likes barbecue! Keep up the great work! read more

I was looking for a quick lunch and this came up on Yelp. The brisket was recommended on here so I gave it a try. It was not dry and fell apart when you tried to eat it. They have a white sauce and I was hesitant but tried it. It was excellent and I would use it again. The mac and cheese was out of this world. I did not expect it to be so good. They used some kind of seasoning in it. The customer service was excellent too. They asked several times if everything was okay. I would definitely go back again. read more

No fuss BBQ. Got the simple pork sandwich with mac & cheese. And it was fantastic! Their sauces were delightful as well. It's not often you see the white BBQ sauce which is my favvvvvv. I splurged and got the oatmeal cream sandwich- very rich. I wish I had a glass of milk. But I left with another to share :) I'd definitely come back when I'm in the neighborhood. They catered a birthday party for us last weekend and everyone said it was the best they had had. The meat was awesome, the famous Brisket is famous for a reason, the sauce was delicious (not needed with the tender meat, but tasted great), the sides were delicious. Green beans are hard to do and keep good, but these were delicious and people kept coming back throughout the evening to grab a few more. Wonderful mac & cheese, delicious cole slaw. The salad was very crisp and fresh, and the banana pudding was beating out the Costco sheet cake! I highly, highly recommend Righteous 'Que. I have eaten at Righteous 'Que numerous times trying different meats and sides. I have never been disappointed. Patrick and Toby know how to do BBQ and all the "right" sides to go with it. Everything is fresh and made daily. The "white sauce" should be bottled sold, it is that good and compliments the meats without overpowering the flavor. Their spirit of giving back to the community is very admirable in a time when most companies want to keep the profits for themselves. This is a local merchant who has worked hard to produce the best product possible and earn the business they have. We need more more local businesses like this. read more

This Texas boy is always looking for good brisket and definitely found some at Righteous que. I was asked initially if I wanted lean or fatty cuts. When I said surprise me, they gave me a sample of fatty to try. I understand the importance of watching what you eat, but turning away from this meat is insane. The fat was rendered perfectly and the protean was moist and tender. The other half, a Carolina girl, had a pork plate with macaroni and cheese along with beans. She loved every bite and left nothing to waste. We were so impressed with entrees that we had to try dessert. She had banana pudding and I the oatmeal cookie cream pie. We planned to take most of the dessert with us, but that wasn't gonna happen once we tasted it. They were both incredible. Love me some righteous queue. Their chicken breast is the best and get the white sauce to go on it. Brisket is great too, get a mix of fatty and lean. Really liked their sauce and their thick cuts on the brisket....but not the brisket itself, along with everything else there had a weird after taste that I could not quite put my finger on. I also had the pulled pork which had that weird twang as well. The collards had potential had they have cooked just a little longer (in my opinion), but they had something weird about them! The baked beans were standard issue picnic flavor and the brunswick stew was just waaaaay off...not really sure what that was about but it was not good. And their prices are kinda high. they don't smoke their bbq "16 hours" like I've been told. I've figured out first hand that they cook it with propane and then put it in a wood stove to give it that smoky flavor. they also never have enough meat to last until dinner time. I've called on numerous occasions requesting pulled pork plates and brisket plates but they are always out. read more
