The owner of this establishment is probably one of the nicest guys in the community. I've yet to have an item on the menu that wasn't 10/10, fresh quality ingredients that just shine and the hospitality and home like feel of just being here makes this place such a gem for Marietta. My husband and I came on a Saturday around 1 pm. The cafe was packed but we managed to find a table after placing our order. The wedding soup tasted like love, so good we could eat it every day! My husband loved his Italian sausage sandwich! I also got their meatball sandwich to go for my son. We also ordered the cannoli to go. Everyone dining seemed happy and a lot of families were eating in. If I am ever in Marietta, I will definitely be back. It was super close to Marietta High School! I need to have more stars to give for this restaurant. From the minute we walked in we felt at home. The owner explained everything and recommended the menu. I had the balsamic chicken Parmesan with fresh mozzarella and bread on the side and hubby had an Italian sub w fresh mozzarella. I can't explain how good the meal was and even though I was so full I had to try the cannoli. The homemade cannoli is filled on order and even though I wasn't a fan of other cannolis I could not put into words how fantastic this was. We stopped in to Hoboken Café today for lunch. I've been here several times before and have never been disappointed. Today was an especially good visit. The food was on point. The meatballs are so good I never order anything else! My son noticed all the photos on the wall and was asking the owner some questions about his experiences. I have been driving by Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock Road since they opened and always thought I should give this NJ style Italian deli a try. Well my better half and I tried their delicious food this past Friday afternoon. I am sorry that we hadn't visited them earlier but we are definitely going back SOON! This Italian deli is located at the front of a strip shipping center just west of Lidl on Whitlock Road. They have adequate parking and overflow parking could use the Lidl parking lot. Upon entry there are booths along two walls and 4-top tables throughout. You place your order at a counter and are given a number. Your order is delivered to the table. The owner and staff are very kind and friendly. We told our order taker that it was our first time and he patiently answered our questions. As we were finishing our meal the owner walked around all the tables and greeted the customers. My better half who is Italian ordered the Hoboken hot dog with peppers and onions. She LOVED the hot dog. She is already talking about what she is ordering for our next visit. I ordered the Famous meatball sandwich with their house made mozzarella. The meatball sandwich is served in delicious fresh bread and the large meatballs smothered in marinara sauce are superb. The sandwiches are big enough for the largest appetite you can muster. I also ordered a cup of Italian Wedding Soup. The homemade soup was so tasty. I ordered a cannoli for dessert and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. It ranks with the cannolis that I have purchased from the Italian North End in Boston. So if you want authentic Italian cooking that is prepared with the freshest ingredients, visit the Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock Road as soon as possible. read more

I live in Lilburn, so it's a haul to get there, but the meatball sub is worth it. It's probably for the best it's so far away, because otherwise I'd be in there every week. Underwhelming. We're from NY and this was not representative of NY or NJ sandwiches. The meatball sandwich had 2 meatballs cut in half in about a 6-8 inch sandwich and the chicken parm was a nice size for the sandwich. Overall, it really lacked seasoning and the meatballs were just "meh" to me. Each of these running an average of $14-$15, which I think was quite overpriced for what you received. The fresh mozzarella was good. The bread was too soft for my liking. I prefer crusty bread outside and pillowy soft on the inside, this was soft all around. I think there are better places for this type of food, so unlikely to return in the near future unless we decide to try a different offer from their menu. read more

This place was a bit of a drive for me, but I made it because I had seen they did authentic hero. I went for the Meatball Mozz and Prosciutto w/ Fresh Mozzarella. My Roommate went with the Hoboken Hero. All the sandwiches were very tasty and the bread wasn't too crunchy but just right for a hero. It took a lot to restrain myself from grabbing a peice of cake when I came to pickup. Everyone there was eating some kind of desert. I really liked the Meatball most of all. Saved some of the Prosciutto and Mozz for dinner. When you order take out, you just walk up to the counter on the right and give them the name on the order. The place was pretty packed for a late lunch time around 1:20-2pm window. I wanted to try some of their pasta salads, but since I had ordered two sandwiches for myself, I couldn't bring myself to order more. The location has checkard tile, looks a lot like you would expect a sandwich shop to be. The overall quality was there and everything gave it that "Hoboken" New Jersey look I gather. Fresh, fresh, fresh!! My husband, originally from Boston, says it tastes like home. The chicken cutlet was lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. The mozzarella was better than any other store bought mozzarella we've ever tasted. The portion of meat on the sandwich of the day was generous. The chicken Milanese was big enough to split and still have some to take home. The pepperdew peppers are sweet then spice it up at the finish- I added them to the Milanese- yum!!! Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock brings a bit of New Jersey to Marietta, Georgia. Being that I am from New Jersey, hearing about a New Jersey Italian Deli in Marietta, Georgia had me head this way when business found me in Atlanta, Georgia. The establishment is in a strip mall and is aesthetically pleasing both inside and out. Walking in, the walls are lined with photos paying tribute to Hoboken, New Jersey. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and pointed me in the right direction on what I was looking for for a great lunch. The special of the day featured an intriguing sounding sandwich, but one with provolone. I asked to swap out the provolone with fresh mozzarella, which was not a problem. The sandwich was very good. It was very good and something that I would definitely recommend. Hoboken Cafe on Whitlock has definitely brought a bit of the Garden State down here to the South and that is definitely a reason to celebrate. Not only for Jersey transplants like myself, but for anyone that is within this community or that visits this community. New Jersey has some incredible food. Maybe I am biased, but I think Jersey has the best food as a region in this country. I've driven past this place a few times & always been curious about it, because I was raised in GA but I'm a Jersey Gurl at heart. Anywho, my coworker from NY insisted that we go here for lunch & I'm so glad we did - What a gem of a place! We went around lunch time, so the parking lot was packed, but it smelled good from the outside; which is always a good sign. My gf recommended the Chicken Vesuvio & it was so good I ate the whole thang & didn't even think about taking pics til I had a couple bites left. The bread & mozzarella cheese are made in-house, so everything's fresh! The food was really good, but the best part of the experience was mingling with the owner while he took our orders. He had such a genuine, welcoming, & down to earth spirit with a sprinkle of Northern charm. The decor/ambience really brings you back to Jersey & the picture wall is a nice touch! The best meatball parm. Lived in nyc for 17 years. This is the best. Soft and fluffy. Every element just works. I'm personally a provolone guy but the rest of the fam goes mozz. Chicken parm is great too. A good move is chicken parm while you're there and take a meatball to go b/c it reheats perfectly. The place itself is also just a joy. Lovely service and a happy atmosphere. And like any good NJ sandwich shop it's located next to a highway and a gas station. Really good sandwiches. I got the balsamic chicken sandwich which had fried chicken cutlet, arugula, mozzarella, and roasted bell peppers. Chicken was great and all the toppings were perfect combo. My dad got the sausage, peppers, and onion sandwich which was also great; a lot of sausage which is nice. We got a hoboken hero (cold cuts, lettuce, tomato, onion, vinegar) to go and when I tried it later, it was also good. I liked the other two sandwiches more though. And finally, we split a cannoli which was fresh and creamy and outside crunchy. Sandwiches are big. The Italian roll bread is slightly different from other places. It's not crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's more chewy overall. I liked it but it's a preference thing. Staff was nice and the food came out quick. There's a parking lot, but it's small. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty busy inside. Luckily, there's a lot of tables, so should be fine. read more
