I'm getting ready to sell my car and want to present it in its best condition. I recently put a…read morenice scratch across the back seat in an otherwise perfect interior. I used the Yelp service to get repair quotes and received several offers that varied in price and process. I decided to go with New Life and Dale reached out to set up an appointment. Dale arrived at my house on time and greeted me with a smile and a handshake. I showed Dale to the garage, we backed the car out, he took a look, confirmed that he could do the job at the quoted price, and told me he would be done in an hour. Exactly an hour later we went to look at the completed job. A picture says a thousand words. I have two other projects for Dale in the next month or two. Dale and his service are excellent!

Did not think it possible, but Dale at New Life Leather and Vinyl repaired several brand new,…read moreexpensive prices of leather furniture that my brand new rescue kitty damaged with her claws. This guy performs magic! I bought an off-white sectional and chaise and two matching recliners by American Leather. Off white in color and a soft buttery leather. When my new kitty tried to jump on them, she could not reach the seat and tried to pull herself up with her claws. Ouch! I know you are saying, why do you have leather furniture with cats? Because none of my previous cats like sitting on leather, preferring the fabric chair, so leather was always the safe bet. Until this little girl. She also punctured the vinyl (pleather) seats on two of 3 custom barstools I had made to fit under my kitchen island. Same M.O. Trying to climb onto them to sleep. After calling the furniture store and reading Yelp reviews, I called Dale for an estimate. He showed up on time, explained the process and gave me an estimate. The process is involved - not only glueing, but matching the scratch with paint, sealing, etc. He would do the repairs at my house and it would take 5-6 hours. He had an appointment a few days later. This furniture was expensive, and at this point in my life, meant to last "forever" so I hired Dale on the spot and prayed he could perform miracles. Without fixing the wholes and scratches, the leather would only deteriorate more. Dale showed up precisely on time and got to work after prepping my space. He worked continuously and diligently. When he was done, I couldn't even find the scratches and punctures on all the leather pieces. The vinyl is harder to repair due to the slight texture pattern, as he warned, but other than me, no one would notice where the punctures were. The counter stools looked like a meat tenderizer had gone over them and now they are smooth again! Magical. Hope I never need Dale's services again, but happy if I do, Dale and his craftsmanship (magic) is just a phone call away. Highly recommend!

After I took the chairs in to be repaired they called me to tell me that the foam was fine and all it needed was new supporting material underneath the foam . This resulted in a $200 lower cost . They could have fixed what I thought was the problem and made more money but they were ethical , making me a customer for life . I have already told all my friends about them . I am very happy with the repair as well as their great customer service . Judy, Astoria

On August 4, 2020, I contacted Perfect Stitch Upholstery about redoing my dining room benches. The…read morejob consisted of replacing the foam cushion inserts and fabric covering of the seats and replacing the fabric on the existing foam inserts for the backs. An owner came to my house to get the measurements, I chose the fabric, left a deposit of $150 and was given an invoice showing a balance owing of $370.83 with delivery in three to six weeks. A month later, the shop had not even started on the cushions. Numerous excuses followed over the next several weeks, but finally I was told the fabric had arrived, however, they had only ordered enough fabric for the seats and not the backs. So they remeasured the area again, confirmed their error, and informed me they would have to reorder. More waiting. Then because their supplier didn't have enough of that fabric left, I had to choose another fabric. I would ask to speak with Andrew, the owner, on the numerous occasions that I went into the shop. I was always told he wasn't there. I kept leaving messages for him to call me. He never did. Finally, several weeks later, after threatening to take the job elsewhere, I was promised they would get right on it. Finally this week, just over four months from the day that I contacted them about the job, I was finally told the cushions were done. When they were delivered, I was very pleased with the workmanship. The person who made them did an excellent job. And then I was presented with the bill: $794.54 less my deposit of $150.00 leaving a balance of $644.54! I was told that they had originally not charged me for the back cushions, just the seats. Paying for work done is not the problem here, but AT NO TIME during the long, drawn out process was I ever informed that they had misquoted the job, or, since the cost would be $274 more, ask me if I still wanted to go ahead with it. The major problem is lack of communication both from the office staff and owner. Any updates I managed to get from them was because of my insistence. And to date, Andrew has still refused to contact me. So if you want a great end product, don't mind getting a run-around for four months, and enjoy the surprise of being charged substantially more than what you were quoted, Perfect Stitch Upholstery is the place for you ... but it's definitely not for me!
