If they mow it this week after my phone call, then it's not a bad course. They struggled getting the course ready for reopen.

It is now 11:58 AM and they do not have enough carts available. How is that even possible? I asked was there an outing. the response was no, there are some large groups of 20 people. I'm like OK so you can't accommodate more than 20 people with carts? Do you not have enough carts? do you need more carts? No apologies no consideration for the delay. No discount no offerings? so I gotta say I'm disappointed in you, Marine Park. Let's do better. Having said that, I just finished my round and I must say that the pace of play was excellent. We finished the front nine in two hours and maybe a little over two hours in the back. So kudos to Marine Park for that! But what's going on with the tee boxes fellas?

During that long stretch of time I always enjoyed it because you have to flat out, make golf shots. The front side favors a target golfer, as they can manage the course with smart play. Bombers beware, until you 9 tee where you can go driver. A smart player with ball control is a dangerous opponent to take on. (himt) It took me a wintry weekend round to take all of the variables out of what would make a reviewer slam FP. Just looking at the course's offering's regarding layout, hole routing, landscape and the fact it gets a ton of traffic, which explains some conditions of greens and teeing areas in disrepair, Forest Park is a good course for what it is. Fee's have jumped so much in the past years across the board in golf, no course went unscathed. Hint-take seriously the placement of trees that you have to always consider all along the course I will be the first to admit number 3 green is always an issue, even when it was number 17 before the reroute of the course. Number 4 was number 1 tee,(with a mobile home clubhouse and no pro-shop) and so on until 15 tee.. Playing blue tees offer minimal distance from the white tee's, but unless your a +10 or better, stay at the white tee's. Because people unfamiliar with The Rules of Golf, play amazingly haphazard golf with no regard for rules (too many examples to list) that is why play is slow for the most part, one ranger is standard on golf courses and when you have 50% of players that never read The Rules of Golf, what can one possible expect as to play time for a round. Yea I have been under par at FPGC, a few times.....I can say it.... Yardage: 6,053/5,635/5,300 Rating: 68.2/119;67.2/115/70.5/120

The entrance is located about a 7-8 minute walk from to the Mets Willets Point stop on the 7 train, right as the park as begins after passing Arther Ashe stadium. On a very warm summer afternoon around 2pm the single friendly staff member at the kiosk was able to take our payment ($13 pp), via credit card, and pass us a scorecard and pencil. There were several other groups playing as well, meaning we had to wait a little after several holes for the group in front of us to finish, which didn't take too long. The course itself wasn't anything too fancy, there were some small slopes and water features, though no outright themed obstacles. I agree with some other reviewers that the water looked a bit murky. They had nets to fish out floating balls if they fell in. The course apparently is in proximity to the homes of a couple resident gophers, who make occasional appearances which was amusing. As a golf novice, it took about an hour to play thru with a couple people and I enjoyed it!

My phone was dead and I panicked running over to this golf course. The side door was wide open and some young punk was on the other side gossiping with someone. I stepped two feet in because he didn't hear me shouting to call 911. He finally saw me ( I was standing with my cane, obviously hurt." He puffed out his chest shouting and I said" I apologize for entering but you didn't hear me and there's a badly injured woman " He didn't care and shouted" get out you don't belong in here, it's disrespectful " he slammed the door shut and I shouted again" call 911" he didn't call. Fortunately a woman and her husband saw and they called. That young punk will be paid a visit from Karma and when he does, I hope he remembers how badly he treated people in need. Just an awful awful person.

You want to know what Mr Charming thinks about Lido Golf…read moreClub? Lord have mercy, just looking at these pictures makes me sweat and think of cold beers. Alright, let's talk about that Lido track. This ain't no prissy country club where you gotta wear a tie and talk quiet. This is the kinda place where you grip it and rip it! You see that picture of my golf bag? That bag knows what's coming. The whole course feels just like that open fairway, wide open for big swings, but surrounded by that tall grass and the ocean breeze that'll turn a good shot into a lost ball in two seconds. It's got that raw, wild feel, kinda like me after a few. I dress with the right attitude for this course. Red shirt? Sure. Wild pants that would make a blind man blink? Hell yes! You gotta have a big personality to handle the wind out here on Long Island. That wind is no joke; it'll make your slice go three fairways over, at Lido it seems like the wind is always in your face. This course is all about character. The views are great, you got water everywhere, and the layout keeps you on your toes. It's a challenge, sure, but it's a fun challenge. The conditions might not always be perfect, but the layout is historical, and it's got that authentic links vibe. Plus, the clubhouse ain't afraid of people having a good time. So, if you're looking for a fancy round, go somewhere else. But if you want to let the big dog eat, enjoy some serious sea air, and maybe throw a few clubs when the wind takes your ball to a different zip code, Lido is your place. It's wild, it's loud, and it's got a lot of . Just like I always say, "gab a cigarette, crack a cold one, and let it rip"!

I should have known that it was going to be rough when I pulled in and the "pro shop" and check-in locations are semi-permanent construction trailers. The course is in TERRIBLE shape. You will lose your ball in the fairway. The greens have brown and dead patches. There are temporary greens that aren't even close to being considered a green. They simply popped a hole in the fairway and stuck a flag in it. It's impossible to putt on these. The course needs a lot of work and definitely not worth the money. Maybe in a few years it could change but based on other reviews it's looks like it's been terrible for years.
