After visiting the phenomenal Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. years ago, I was excited…read moreto have the opportunity to visit this traveling 3/4 replicia in Greenfield yesterday. "The Wall That Heals" was on display at Stillinger Family Funeral Home on Main Street from Thursday, 7/11 until Sunday, 7/14/2019 and open 24/7. It was free for anyone who wanted to stop by and honor fallen Vietnam War Veterans. The number of names on the wall is staggering and overwhelming with over 58,000 Americans dying in the Vietnam War. It was a very emotional experience with many people searching for their family or friend's name. So many memories and stories were being told regardless of where we were standing. Numerous people had brought personal pictures, personal items, even a bikers' vest in remembrance of their loved one. The volunteers were amazing! They answered so many questions, listened to personal memories and personally were assisting folks find their loved ones name on the wall. For name rubbing, they requested you only use the pencils and name rubbing forms they provided to any and all needed. The volunteers offered so much information, provided a cooling tent, comforted numerous folks plus shared and listened to countless stories. The amount of time devoted to this amazing traveling replica must be astonishing and very rewarding. The wall was spectacular, well lite for night viewing, details, and photos, were displayed on the new statues devoted to the Vietnam Veterans and lastly, a large map of the war zones. Also on-site was a Navy Strike Assault Boat and two jeeps used during the war for those interested. I'm so happy we had the opportunity to visit this stunning wall and honor these brave fallen veterans. It was dedicated in 2018, after years of planning. Parking here is easy, since it is located in a park with a decent sized private parking lot. The memorial is respectfully and tastefully done. At the entrance to the memorial, you will find a black marble slab with the memorial's sponsors on one side and the logos of the American Legion, above the logos of all 6 branches of service. Below all of that, on the slab's base, you will find the date the memorial was dedicated. Next to that is a sign to remind visitors to be respectful of the memorial. Which is sad that they have to do that, but I understand. Hopefully people will heed the sign. The memorial features bike racks with the logo of each respective branch of service, a walkway with pavers that are dedicated to veterans by family and friends. There is also 3 flag poles, with the center and tallest one flying the American flag, the one to its left flying the Indiana State Flag, and the one to its right flying the POW/MIA Flag. There is a nice pergola that serves as the flags' backdrop and there are two small cannons between the three flags. The memorial is in a circle/semi-circle formation. In the center is a 6 to 7 foot obelisk with inscriptions on the base of it. Words such as "INTEGRITY", "HONOR", "DUTY" and "SERVICE" and inscribed in the cement slab on the ground that leads to the obelisk from each of its 4 sides. On the outside perimeter around the obelisk. You will find black marble slabs with the logo of each respective branch of service inscribed in them. A little further past circle is a circular paved walkway and then some marble benches that were dedicated to veterans by their family and/or friends. Is it the best Veteran Memorial that I seen? No, but i am a sucker for honoring our veterans. It is a small but nice memorial and honors the County's local heroes in a fitting way. It was a team effort and took hard work from many volunteers to make this dream a reality. I understand that you would not travel to see this memorial, but it is worth a visit if you are in the area.

The meeting with Santa was one of the best experiences we've ever had with a Santa Claus! They have a separate Santa Shack and families can go in one at a time so it's a more intimate and meaningful experience than having a line of people crowded behind you while you're trying to talk to Santa. The Santa was so jolly and sweet and my kids were all smiles the entire time. We had time to take pictures without a crowd around which we really enjoyed as well, and I'm definitely making these shots our family Christmas cards for the year! I'd love if there was a way for the farm to cover the train and tractor with a clear tarp if possible so that it wouldn't be so cold while you're looking at the lights. But also understand that you will be outside on about a 20 minute ride while you enjoy the lights so make sure you bundle up!

First, the pricing for entrance at the register didn't state what was charged for children under 16. Instead I paid the adult price for myself and two kids under age 6. The farms website says children up to age three pay $5. My son just turned three. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying. For $30 we couldn't go on the train or the big slide or the fossil dig. We could go on the cow train but I never found anyone standing near it. Did I have to go find someone? I still have no idea. My son wanted to do it. The fun things we did do were play in the 'sand' (more like fine gravel) play area, see the pigs and goats and pick pumpkins to buy. One thing we wanted to do but didn't was the bounce pad. It was filthy! Covered in sun baked mud. My oldest was really disappointed. The staff here were nice when we interacted with them, but they all seemed very preoccupied with talking amongst one another. I waited quite a while to have someone tally up my pumpkin order. No one seemed to know who was in charge of that task. I will say I bought a fair number of pumpkins and was fully expecting the total to be over $50 and it was only $29. So I guess I am calling it even on the overcharge for entry.
