My family had been customers for nearly 4 years. I have never had a problem until the last couple times I went in, but my last visit was with a woman, who I believe is the owner, and she didn't seem to want my business. She did my inspection anyway, but never reported the inspection to the state and refused to do so when I called. She even said she had it right there and I could pick it up from them, but she would not send it through to the state for me (something I paid her shop to do in the first place). Her demeanor led me to believe that she didn't report the inspection on purpose to inconvenience me, as I had apparently inconvenienced her when she did the inspection. Also, she told me to stay in my car during the inspection and she never even drove it, which I now know is illegal. My family will be going elsewhere. I ended up getting another inspection just down the road. Much more positive experience and i was able to register my vehicle online the next morning. read more

The recent change in owners has not done any good for Boyd , very poor service! I was yelled at because the worker wanted my key and I said this car has no key! He said he was a well trained person (18) and all cars have keys! I said look there is no place for a key, he told me to get the F*** out of here! I tried to show him how to reset the oil without a key but the manager came over and yelled at me to leave. Three young kids the like weed better than customers! Twenty years I'v been going to Riley but never more! The place across the street how has the old staff before new owners and did an outstanding job on my car without a key! The staff was really rude and condescending like they are better than us! Never going back with all five of my cars! read more

The good reviews are from years ago before the recent change in owners. Now, they lay on the pressure to sell you things you don't need. I guess they think nobody knows about cars but them. High pressure sales so they can keep their jobs, and a lot more expensive than before. Also, really rude and condescending. Went there for oil changes for over a decade. BEWARE!! This establishment is incompetent and incapable of performing a simple oil change without damaging a vehicle. Caused $1972.06 in damages to my vehicle: Cracked the oil filter housing by over tightening -$1126.18, stripped belly pan and fender liner-$845.88. Took the vehicle back to them 10 days after initial oil change, when leaked oil was discovered on the driveway. They claimed it was a drain plug seal, however the oil continued to leak. Took to certified dealership who discovered these two issues caused by the incompetence of this establishment. Spoke with the manager, who took my contact information, and relayed to the owner. Went back with the broken part, same manager took a photo and asked if he could keep the part, as the owner was to be there the next day. Didn't leave the part, and still haven't received any response or effort to resolve the situation. Long story made short, DO NOT LET THIS PLACE TOUCH YOUR CAR UNLESS YOU HAVE THE TIME TO HIRE A LAWYER TO GET THE DAMAGES RECOVERED! read more

My husband has taken his truck here for years, with rare exception. He has tried to go other places, just to check them out and is always disappointed, or in the case of another place I reviewed, downright angry at them. We both get our inspections here and they have always treated us well. People who work in the heat or cold day after day tend to not be ass kissers. If that's what you're looking for, go to a dealership and pour your heart out to them. Maybe they'll give you a 20. dollar tissue :) They are good at the work they do, and that's why people to go there, to get their oil changed, inspection done, etc. As soon as my car is no longer under warranty I will be going to Riley's for my oil changes too. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Needed a state inspection and got treated as if I was disrupting their entire day. No other customers were even present when I showed up, I got yelled at by the person who seemed to be the owner, they constantly rolled their eyes at me and huffed after every little comment they made. They never said hello, just "What do you want?" and then never thanked me for coming in or invited me to come back. Isn't that standard in Texas? "Ya'll come back now!"
