My mother's independent living facility ( they all walk and of sound mind) goes here once a month to play bingo. They love it ! The watering hole treats them so good. The limestone walls are original. Much of the decor adorning the walls was found in the building. Some of the wall hangings include an original bond and doctor prescriptions for whiskey. The furnishings and accessories complement the rooms to enhance the feeling of old-west prohibition. The velvet pieces exemplify burlesque. Total "hitch your horse to a post, mosey on down for a secret drink and a good time" vibes. Logan spun a tale of ghosts appearing in selfies taken by previous guests. The story was sensational and I was all about it. A wonky thing happened with the POS system while we were there that required a reboot. I joked that the ghosts thought I was taking too many pictures. Dark, moody, sexy, and relaxing...everything you want in a speakeasy---& good drinks too, of course. Absolute works of liquid art!

The small room we took did have some plush red velvet seats and leather sofas as they try to set the mood of the 1920's prohibition era. So our party of 12 adults and two young kids didn't stay. Just a word of advice for that young man, don't invite us and say bring your friends. Especially when you say you'll be open and cook, then refuse to serve us as our party is arriving. Your parties are few right now, and you are running off the local traffic that frequently come every week and patronage that establishment. For the amazing bar tenders great job as usual!!!! At one time cotton was grown here until a boll weevil infestation wiped out the crops. Anyhow, I could hear live music emanating from this dance hall. Some of our family entered the hall because they needed to use the restrooms. We waited while listening to some good, live country music. I could see it was a very relaxed, casual, & family oriented gathering place. Then I found out this dance hall is one of the oldest in Texas! My husband and his family have fond memories of being at dance halls. This was so interesting to me because it's such a different culture from mine. We didn't have dance halls in the Philippines or California. There is a bar you pass by to get beer and other spirits. I don't as told that locals & visitors will leisurely hang out here. There was a guy with his partner who was trying to start dance circles. It was weird because his buddy in the Looney Tunes beanie reached over to grab my friend's drink twice. The bottle service here seems a little out of control because the people ordering it were so unreasonably drunk that we got to watch two basically create a baby and another person shake their bones because they had nothing to really shake. I don't really believe in bottle service as a concept, especially at a college bar. Other fond memories were of me watching a three-person grind line. I wanted to join, but I was nervous to ask.
