I told Nicole I needed a suitcase that would fit the requirements for a couple foreign domestic flights I had booked. However, since LVMH snatched this iconic company prices are just going up up up up. For no reason since quality and designs are the same. Actually production of their polycarbonate designs moved to East Europe and LVMH is just milking it big time when they price a polycarbonate carry-on suitcase @ $1400.00. Customer service at the SC Plaza store is a hit and miss. Staff can be cool and patient... or borderline snotty and condescending (unless you speak Chinese, of course... Then you may get full attention). Yet, it is understandable: We have to be complete idiots to cope with LVMH racket AND stretch our wallet for these beauteous pistachio green or Tweetie yellow suitcases that will make us look like Teletubbies @ the airport. At this price point, everyone is very helpful and informative, but Carina is on a whole other level. After shopping for luggage for a few days, she was the first one to explain the 62 inch rule about check bags. We purchased an aluminum 'classic trunk plus' and went back-and-forth a little on the second piece. She was informative and helpful but in no way pushy. We were 90% sure which piece we're going to choose to complement our drunk plus but weren't sure so she was kind enough to offer to hold it for the day and let us go home and look at our other luggage. After about an hour, we were back to purchase the other item. While we were getting our tags embroidered, she gave us a bit of a history lesson on the brand. She's not very old but you think she worked for the company for 30 years. She honestly put on a clinic for both customer service and product knowledge. Absolutely unacceptable experience with Chandler Hubbard. I've never encountered such poor customer service, especially from a brand that claims to stand for quality. Chandler rushed me through the entire process, messed up the engraving, didn't ask for my email to register the product, and completely failed to set up the lock combination on my $1500 suitcase. Worse, the moment I paused to gather my things, he walked off without a word and left my shopping bag outside the door like it was nothing. No thank you, no goodbye, just completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I have a flight tomorrow, and now I'm stuck with a brand-new suitcase I can't even use properly because the combination isn't set. This is unacceptable. Sunday morning, called after 11AM and no answer. The same for the Beverly Hills location, so decided to go to SCP and have lunch there, if they are not able to help. Got there at around noon, they do have a service desk at the back of the store. A handsome young man (with Pac-Man ear rings) told us to have a seat a wait and he will be right with me. A few minutes later, he came back and I told me my SO accidentally locked the Essential Lite and did not know the code. He went and got a thin piece of tool, checked all three numbers and found the code, which was way different than the code we normally used. He then explained that to change the code, you would push the open lever, hold it and then set the numbers. So, most likely, "someone" changed the code by accident. Very happy with the service, but deduct one star for not answering the phone. read more

We own MANY pieces of Rimowa luggage. My carry on lock failed to open with our set combination and I was left with not being able to open it in my hotel room. I called the Rimowa store in the Simon mall in Aria and asked for help. I had to bring my bag over to them to open it. I was told by the salespeople there that the lockers fail often and I just need to keep trying different combos of numbers to see if I can get it to unlock. I was dumbfounded as Rimowa luggage is very expensive and I do not ever expect to have to play roulette with the lock combo to get my bag to open. That is crazy!!!! I called Rimowa customer support and it was confirmed to me that yes their locks fail often and it's the customer's issue to deal with. If you happen to be near a Rimowa store you can get help in a store just like I did. If you aren't than you are totally screwed as to how you can get into your own suitcase. Rimowa does not make the high quality products they profess to and they do not stand by their products when a customer has issues. This was news to me but glad I know now. read more

Had this suitcase for over 5 years and out over 300k miles on them. Had to have them fixed a few times but it's always free and easy. They get it done and sent back to your home for no charge and usually done in a week. There's also a hotel service where they come and fix it on the spot but I haven't tried that yet. The suitcase is a bit pricey but I think it's worth it. I leave all my stickers and dings as is and i think it looks great! read more

I've been comparing the Aluminum carryon to the Rimowa Original Cabin for a while now and think I should compare my Tumi experience vs my Rimowa experience. Rimowa: At Rimowa I was immediately greeted by Rimowa staff (all of the staff were helping another customer yet had the time to greet me) and was assisted with everything. I inspected any piece of luggage I wanted, asked as many questions as I wanted and received competent and friendly responses. Due to the quality of service I purchased the Original Cabin in silver. All three people working on 1/5/2022 when I went in to buy my piece of luggage we're exceptional. Tumi: Went into the store, was not greeted or asked if I needed help. I picked up what I thought was the Tumi Raw aluminum carryon, and proceeded to lay it down on the leather wrapped table height area used to place luggage you want to inspect. At that point in time I was no longer ignored and scolded that I wasn't supposed to touch the display only luggage and what I was holding was "the titanium carryon, and it costs $3,000." There was no sign that said it was a display and I don't know how anyone purchases luggage without inspecting zippers, pockets, wheels etc. I told her I didn't know I wasn't supposed to and there should probably be a sign. Her response was "it's kinda up there on it's own so..." I didn't realize eye level meant something was up on its own. The rest of the experience went like this, She took the titanium carryon away from me and provided me the black aluminum carryon that was sitting on a pedestal below the titanium carryon. It appears that the luggage isn't for display only, she just didn't want me to touch it for whatever reason. I didn't ask her if they had the silver aluminum color so I inspected the interior of the black aluminum carryon. I did not like the Tumi experience; hear me out. I'll keep my concern short, if this is how Tumi was going to treat someone who is in the purchase phase and willing to spend money to buy something from them, imagine trying to get anything serviced or repaired! End of the day go with Rimowa. Global service providers if your luggage needs tending to VS poor sales people at Tumi and a hassle ridden process where you need to ship your luggage to Georgia on your own dime to get serviced (when out of warranty). read more

I am extremely happy with the service and product offered here. I was a little hesitant to by a pricy suitcase, but I got what i paid for. It is durable, easy to use and maneuver suitcase. The staff was friendly and there was no pushy sales tactics. I took the suitcase to Japan and when we arrived there the suitcase locking system was pried open by TSA in Los Angeles with what looked like a screwdriver by the damage it had. The suitcase still worked I just had to buy a lock to put on it for the rest of my trip. I was worried about an expensive repair when I returned. I took it into the store and they fixed it for me in 30 minutes and for no extra cost. They stand by their product and their product is great.
