Do not purchase bags from this Celine location. I visited on New Year's and purchased a bag for my birthday, spending close to $3,000 and fully expecting a new item with proper packaging. Instead, I was given what appears to be a used bag or floor sample without being informed. The bag came with no box, no ID cards, and when I inspected it at home, I found hair inside the small pockets, which was extremely upsetting and unhygienic. I called to make a complaint and spoke with the floor manager, Mark. His response was shocking--he said this was "normal" because it was a floor sample and suggested that next time I should ask for a box. That is completely unacceptable for a luxury brand. Customers should not have to ask to receive a new, properly packaged item. This experience was deeply disappointing and does not reflect the standards expected from a brand like Celine. read more

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Celine was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others. For a brand that prides itself on "luxury," the customer service and online shopping experience were anything but. First off, the website is a mess absurdly slow to navigate. I placed an order that was confirmed. Only to receive a the wrong product a week later. They said the card holder in mauve purple was suddenly out of stock. No apology, no explanation, they assumed the black card holder would work... Trying to reach customer service was another nightmare. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes, only to be met with a dismissive, borderline rude representative who couldn't answer a single question about my order. They just told me the item wasn't in stock and shipped the black one instead. Their best solution for me was to simply return the item they shipped for a refund. Basically, I was charged for an item that they never had in stock, and now I'm sitting on the wrong color card holder that I need go out of my way and ship out to get my refund. At no point did anyone from the company take accountability or offer to make things right by canceling the order in the first place. That 100% would've been way easier... to simply cancel the order and refund me right then and there. Luxury? This felt more like dealing with a shady pop-up shop. I've had better service from fast fashion brands. Save your money and your sanity -- shop elsewhere. read more

"Would you like still or sparkling water?".. that sort of thing. Super friendly and approachable sales staff, great energy in there. Everyone seem to be having a good time. My wife has purses that cost multiple times what this one did with less refined fit and finish. We don't have a deep history with this brand, but I can tell we will be back. Got my first Celine item (wallet) and i love it! Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by staff and security. It was easy to browse and staff was quick to show items that were in glass cases. We were helped by a gentlemen named Jamie i believe and he was soooo nice! Definitely made a great first impression for us. Offered us beverages as we waited for my wallet to get wrapped up. I've visited Celine twice for different reasons - to look at a skinny tie and a top I saw online. When I saw the tie, the gal who helped me was friendly and did not pressure me into buying the tie. It was nice in person but the tie wasn't the perfect fit for the purpose I had in mind. Recently I came back to look at a bustier top I saw online and on a member of LE Sserafim. I was helped by someone else and she directed me to a dressing room. Eventually she brought other pieces like boyfriend jeans and a dress shirt to show me some ideas for pairing the bustier top with it. They were some good ideas but I wasn't interested in the other pieces. The bustier was beautifully made and the material was very soft. Sadly it was a little out of my price range at this time, so I needed to pass and think about it a little later. The gal who helped me this time took my number and promised to contact me. (As of today, I've not heard from her.) While she was helpful, I did feel a little bit of pressure when I was trying clothes on and looking at other items. The brand is a good one in terms of materials and design. They are starting to become a little bit pricier as people are starting to show more interest in the brand. (I would suggest grabbing pieces before they get to the level of some of the other luxury brands.) With regard to parking, you can choose any lot or structure for South Coast Plaza. I've rarely had a lot of trouble finding a spot, unless it's the holidays. read more

So upset with this Celine. When visiting my family in Irvine, I purchased a Celine belt here. The SA who helped me was extremely frustrating and pretty much pressured me into buying a size too big for me. I asked her for a smaller size multiple times. I even said that I wanted to wear it high-waisted so I needed a smaller size. She convinced me to believe that this was the only size that would fit. The belt is too large for how I want to wear it. I took it back and another SA confirmed that I needed the smaller size. However, they won't let me exchange it even though it's in new condition because it's past the short return window. I've been loving green and it's the perfect shade and design! Also love how low key the bag is, has crossbody and top handle, and holds a surprisingly large amount of things for its size! I considered the pico but realize in the long run I would like something a bit more proportionately sized. I also considered the rose color which is such a pretty spring color. I knew what my heart desired but was tempted by EVERYTHING! Lisa was patient enough to show me bags ranging from the pico size, diff color choices, to luggage, had to try it all on while I was there! If you are buying a gift for someone and expect a decent return policy I wouldn't buy from their flagship store, you're way better off at Nordstrom where their return policy is about their costumer and not about keeping their commission. If you're paying cash or cash and the rest on credit, they will not except your returns past the 14 day mark where I learned the hard way. It's a great brand but they failed to even slightly try and help me out, so I wrote to corporate and let's see how they do there. I just wanted store credit and not even a full refund and couldn't do much about it, oh well. Lesson learned!!! read more

I thought that my earlier review would get sent into the void with no resolution, but Tiara from Celine's customer service offered to give me a call and resolve things. Firstly, she clarified that all purchases made in Celine stores require the physical card for returns. So no information on their Celine.com storefront is relevant to in-store purchases, apparently, although this policy is also not present on the Celine paper receipt either. The representatives I spoke to as well had apparently been misinformed or either confused about how I made the purchase, but at least this has been clarified. Secondly, the followup email I got to my first purchase being in Chinese even though I purchased in the US and have never made a profile in HK or China was apparently the result of a technical glitch. There are multiple customers with my name, which still doesn't answer the question as to why my customer profile was created in Chinese, but Tiara promised me that this would be escalated to the marketing team to look into. Lastly, she offered to dissolve the store credit and to refund the bag back to the original card. So I still have to go in store and get the card from my friend, but at least this resolution was offered to me. Even though I love the bag, I cannot wear it any longer without remembering this initial interaction. Thank you for Tiara for your professionalism. If I ever purchase from Celine again, it will be through a representative she recommends me to, or through the Celine.com online storefront. read more

Returned a bag on 9/9. They told me to leave the bag at the store without a receipt and said they would "try" to process the return that day. I refused to leave the store until I received a receipt and Proof of return. Its now been 5 days and my bank has no trace of a refund. Rowena is incredibly sweet and helpful. The SA's here are genuinely passionate about handbags and knowledgeable about their selection from present and previous collections. They will courteously offer champagne, and sparkling or Fiji water for your time in the store. This location and Rodeo Drive always have a great selection of inventory. I won't get into specifics because I'm definitely a bag enthusiast and extremely picky. I use my Trotteur on a daily basis and am in love with the simple closure, unlike my belt tote which is a little more work to get into. I love Céline for its minimal and low key aesthetic, that doesn't suffocate you like an oversaturated monogram LV would. read more

If there is one thing I love it's designer handbags! Back in 2013, I was looking for another bag to add to my collection and was between Saint Laurent and Cèline. South Coast Plaza didn't have a Cèline but nonetheless I went home with my Saint Laurent. On a recent visit, I finally see a Cèline and immediately went in. The store is lovely and was greeted by Jennifer. She was patient with me as I went through pretty much every size, shape, color, and style of the bags. When you're buying an investment piece, it always helps that the associate is patient with you. They are quite expensive and decisions can't be made lightly. Being able to have Jennifer pull out each of the bags really helped me decide that even though I loved the Luggage in pictures, it wasn't really for me in life. I narrowed it down to the Phantom and Trapeze. In the end, function and design is what made me go with the Trapeze. I never felt pressured at anytime, and I took as long as I needed to decide. She answered all my questions (and my mother as she will never steer me wrong) and brought out refreshments for us both. I have purchased 2 of their most expensive bags and wallets for my wife here, the first page tore on the stitching and it was a nightmare trying to get them to repair and or replace this bag for 3 months! I recently purchased a bag their for my wife that was over 5k in total and in 3-4 days on the stitching again the bag started to fade, we notified them right away and they said they would need to get back to us on a resolution since their products are horribly made and designed based on two bags being VERY bad. It has taken 3 weeks and they say they can not do anything for us. I highly advise anyone to not buy their products or deal with this store as they are rude, unprofessional and very unaccommodating to a repeat customer who WOULD have been another repeat over and over if you had only taken care of us in a timely manner and made sure you fix YOUR faulty design and made products. I just had the best shopping experience in this store. I was walking through South Coast when I saw a sign for the new CÉLINE boutique. I got so excited and made a beeline straight to it. I was immediately greeted with a smile when I walked in and was given a tour of the store. A proper greeting is the first thing I judge when walking in a new store. The store is beautiful and well-kept, and everyone seems happy to be there. I didn't feel overwhelmed by any of the associates like I sometimes do in other boutiques. I honestly wasn't planning on buying anything (ugh I always say that) but Justin, the sales associate who was helping me, showed me these sunglasses that I couldn't resist. I'm not one to buy on impulse, I usually set something down to think about it for a few days then come back to it, but the service that Justin gave me was so great and thorough that I just had to buy them right there. I am so happy with my purchase and that I could give business to this lovely boutique and its employee. I even started planning a shopping day with my girlfriends to visit Céline, maybe I'll buy something (here I go again) if Justin is there to assist us. I came in this afternoon and was promptly greeted. I love Celine bags and shoes and was excited to see the fall clothing line. There were some lovely leather jackets and sweaters. I especially loved an oversized oatmeal cashmere sweater. It was $2500 and....made in China. I try my hardest to buy things made in Italy, France, USA and sometimes you cannot avoid Chinese-made products. BUT...for $2500 I was a bit disappointed that it was made in China. My husband commented to me about it and the salesperson heard. She started to argue with my husband that it wasn't made in China and that it was made in France. We showed her the label and then she began to argue that "all the best silk comes from China and that is why this cashmere sweater was made there." Silk and cashmere are the same? Hmm....So whatever, but WHY is she arguing with us? She was clearly uneducated about fashion, sales and customer service. If you are selling $2500 sweaters and $35,000 handbags (the price of a green prescious leather bag there), then you should be a bit more professional. read more

I purchased a micro belt from this boutique and my SA Rowena was very helpful in picking the color. She also sent thank you card (hand written!)and card/catalogue to me. However, the sealant on my bag cracked after using it for three weeks. I contacted Rowena immediately and she told me to bring the bag back whenever i can since i live in the Bay area. Brought the bag in today and the other SA was very friendly, she immediately let the manager know and they let me exchange the bag since i purchased it less than a month ago and repair will take 8 weeks.
