Gave two stars out of loyalty but my experience yesterday is worthy of negative stars. I will find another store to give my business to after yesterday's incident. About six years ago I bought a weekend retreat 10 miles east of Rinaldi's off Highway 26. I come there on Fridays and leave back to the Bay Area on Sundays. Coming in and going out I stop at Rinaldi's to shop and buy Chinese food. I am well aware that ordering egg foo young has a 30 minute preparation time. I come in from the Bay Area on Highway 12 and have it timed to place my order when I am 30 minutes out. I also place an order going home because the food is easy to keep in the frig and microwave. Last night I called 30 minutes ahead to place my going home order. There has been an issue the last year or so with getting a busy signal when trying to phone in an order. I have to redial continuously to get through. Sometimes this is so long it throws my timing off and I am at the store before 30 minutes and have to wait. I have had my share of disappointments when they tell me they don't have what I ordered once I arrive. Egg foo young is constantly the issue. Seems sometimes they don't want to make it and I get some sort of excuse on arrival. I asked why they didn't call and tell me they could not fill my order or tell me at the outset that I could not have my order filled. I asked them to call me since they took my phone # with the order. I have a Bay Area 415 area code on my cell and was told they are not allowed to call long distance numbers. Last night I called and get through after two minutes of busy signals. A male voice answered and I told him I wanted to place an order for Chinese food. I believe he wanted to transfer the call, saying, "Just a moment," I had an earpiece on and went about tasks I needed to complete while waiting. When I got back to my phone it indicated i had waited over 11 minutes for someone to pick up. This was maybe an omen. I called back and it got straight through to the deli. I placed my order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. This seemed unlikely since one item was the 30 minute egg foo young (but maybe, I thought, they already some out in the tray) I got there in 20 minutes exactly and said "Thomas here to pick up." I was told it was not ready yet. I figured my wait would be 10 minutes. After 15 minutes I asked about my order and was told the kitchen had not started on it yet! What!!?? Tell the customer what to expect and don't waste their time. I could have been on the road disappointed again instead of enraged by employees who don't understand that customers don't call orders in to have their time wasted once they arrive. I was loud in my disapproval and serious when I said I am not coming back. Teach your staff customer service and value their time! read more

Love this market. Always good meats, things are expensive but it's what you get for convenience.

We have been shopping at Rinaldi's as long as my wife and I have lived in the Linden area, which has been since the mid 1970's. We have always enjoyed having a grocery store in our area that has almost everything that we want. The fruits and vegetable section is always kept fresh and there are plenty of frozen and canned goods to satisfy anyone. The prices might be a little higher than a chain food store like Food 4 Less or Walmart, but that is expected. And, Rinaldi's has what a lot of stores don't have: a friendly staff that gets to know your name and uses it whenever we are in the store. read more

The chinese food is BOMB! They are kind of expensive when it comes to some groceries. It is one of the 2 stores here in Linden. They have very friendly people working there. If you get the Chinese food get the #2! read more

I'm starting to think customer service is a thing of the past at Rinaldi's market. Every time I go in there it seems every cashier has a snotty attitude. I guess if you weren't born in Linden your not welcomed. read more

Love love love this place! Cheeseburgers are so yummy you can add extra things that are not on the list like, you can ask for grilled mushrooms or onion or make your burger a double patty! amazing I crave them! Sandwiches even better! You can even ask for Italian dressing on them! Mojo potatoes rock!!!! And I'd suggest trying their garlic chicken and their fried chimichangas!!!!!! Looking for the amenities of a large chain grocery store with a small town feel? Look no further! Rinaldi's is an amazing grocery store which stocks everything we need! We love the friendly and welcoming atmosphere in there and the pricing on most items is comparable or cheaper than your chain grocery stores. They also have an amazing produce section with locally grown fruit and a delicious deli section which includes wonderful Chinese food! Highly recommend this place! read more

Adorable little small town grocery store. Gives jobs to the local highschool students and supports the community. Chinese deli is amazing. The food is great. The meat deli also makes burgers and sandwiches ... You have to try the tri tip sandwich. I don't do much grocery shopping here because the prices are expensive, but it's great to pick up a few must have items that you don't feel like running into the bigger stores for. read more

Excellent customer service. One of the last places you can still go shopping and they will push your cart out for you and help you load your groceries. Went there for lunch again and the food was excellent. I see the same people working there for many years and they are friendly and call you by name even when you haven't visited in weeks. Small town grocery store with big selections and even bigger customer service. I would recommend only shopping here if you are in Linden. read more

The deli made sandwiches are great, love all the options they have, the burgers are huge although very greasy & the patty is tasteless. prices are decent, although the starting point for anything is $5 minimum lol the store is kept extremely clean. the registers never get busy as they open a new one if more than 3 people are in a line for one i definitely recommend the chinese food, i have family from texas that visit & always want to take some back with them! read more

Rinaldi's is great. They have everything from groceries, a butcher, and even a deli with hot and cold food. Everyone is friendly and It is a great place to stop between the foothills and stockton. read more

We live close to this area. We love Rinaldi's! It's prefect for a late evening, after kids cheer/football practice. Their Chinese food and Sandwiches are a few of our favorites! Mmm can't forgot the BBQ pork! My husband and I also love the idea of the local teenagers working there. read more

My friends just used Rinaldi's for their wedding for their food during cocktail hour. The price was reasonable and it was freshly made. The deli platters were beautifully done. Favorite place of all us locals. Amazing customer sevice and family atmosphere! groceries are a touch pricey but it is a small town and you should expect that of a small market. The food is the best. Chinese food is good (not quite as good as it used to be) but still yummy. Burgers are THE best. My personal fav! Fries, awesome. And their deli sandwiches are awesome with fresh bread and meats. This is my favorite place to shop on the way home. They have a great Chinese Deli along with a full list of delicious sandwich that they make to order in the store so be sure to call ahead to place your order (887-deli). The ladies at the counter are fast and pleasant which is a super plus! They also have a fresh meat section. Their steaks are to die for! BBQing them is always a delicious meal and never disappoints. Food on the shelf is rotated and stocked weekly to keep it fresh. Along with many items that are on sale. Vegetable and fruit section is managed by a very sweet lady who acknowledges me when I pick my weekly veggies. The vast selection of wines and spirits is a magical aisle to visit while you are there. Even if you are not a drinker of fine wines or spirits take a stroll down this aisle. The gem of this store is the owner, Victor. He donates back to the community and his positive presence is a plus. You can always see him chatting with the customers or taking your groceries out to your car and loading them up. He takes pride in making his customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Rinaldi's is the heart of Linden. This 78-year-old remembers when Tony Rinaldi moved to Linden and opened this small grocery store in a different location. Tony is long gone, with new owners, this large grocery store is the busiest place in my small home town. We now visit Linden (from Ventura County ) several times per year, and Rinaldi's is always our very first stop. read more
