I think I can say that my son officially learned how to swim here! It's perfect for toddlers and little ones because of the Beach -type layout and the depth. I love that there is a small water slide that doesn't look too intimidating for the kiddos. The cute mushroom shade waterfall thing is cool for splashing about too. And the bike things that squirt water are fun (for the kids, that is)! It's cool cause the pool starts really shallow (like the beach) and then gets deeper. 4 year olds can tippy toe the whole time and totally enjoy themselves. It's also deep enough for parents to just sit there and enjoy watching the kids enjoy themselves. And those with older kids (or no kids), don't worry, Rinconada didn't forget about you. On the other side is the adult pool with the diving boards. My 14 year old spends the whole time doing his flips (and flops) into that nice cool water. There is also a park right outside and lots of ice cream vendors. Ahhh the joys of summer!

A lifetime of memories…read more I sat on the lawn of the Eichler club last year as they held an end of the season swim club award ceremony. My two eldest kids (6, 4) just finished their first season there and were sitting up front with all the other kids and friends they made that Summer. Music played alongside a slideshow of all the fun moments throughout the season. Every kid was pictured. They handed out awards, and as the sun was setting, members, coaches, and the senior class gave speeches to the young ones. My 6 year old son said it was the best day ever, and as I sat there sipping my sangria, I quietly agreed. It was a beautiful moment. Just weeks earlier, my 4 year old daughter was climbing away from the diving board, too scared to finally jump into the deep end of the pool. She had mustered up all her courage to finally do the jump as she waited in line to participate in a "best belly flop" fun event at the club. But when the moment came, in front of dozens of people, it was all too much for her. "ZOE, ZOE, ZOE!" The club was suddenly wildly cheering her on. My little girl then turned around and jumped in. It was her first time jumping off the diving board, and from then on that's all she wanted to do. A member had taken a video of the moment and kindly shared it with me. That's one I'll cherish for the rest of my life. I hope my daughter will too. I never really had these kind of moments growing up. And I don't even know where to find them if I wanted to somehow have more of them. But I do know that my kids have made special memories already here at the Eichler club, and I hope for many many more. ----- Anyway, aside from that I played tennis here almost everyday using the ball machine. It was fantastic. I never had trouble finding a court, and at the same time, there were enough people there that I could meet and play with other people of various levels. I'm still just a wait-list member (they were testing a Summer membership program), but whenever I can join again I'll probably pick up and play a lot more pickleball there as it's impossible to find courts elsewhere in the area. I heard they're adding lights to the courts too, hope that works out Highly recommend this place. While membership is inexpensive from a Palo Alto perspective, the wait-list is ~5 years long. So put in that deposit ASAP because like me you'll wish you did earlier.

I would honestly rather drive all the way to Belle Haven. So, do me a favor, everyone, and don't go here. Not because it's bad. It's really good. But that's why, right? It's not crowded ever, I've never once had to share a lane, I usually don't have to share the ENTIRE rec pool. I like it that way, alright? Sharing is caring and all but I don't wanna share. (I like the rec pool, because I've got chronic pain and mobility issues, and the warmer water plus steps or ramp to get in are both really helpful for that.) Buuuuuut I do want it to stay open, so. I GUESS you can also come to the (public) pool (that I don't own). Begrudgingly. Honestly it's nicer even than the time I somehow got a month of free membership to a private sports club. The single, solitary complaint I've ever had was that someone(s) misses the urinal in the men's room so badly that it smelled like, well, badly missed urinal. You know. And so I dropped off a comment card and they fixed it and even emailed me to let me know. Hello? That's cool, I wasn't expecting much after my experiences with Burgess Pool. (I want to love you, Burgess, but you still haven't been resurfaced and you're still bad to walk on barefoot. It's been almost ten years since I first said that. Come on, man. I know what the economy is like, but be so for real.) Like when I say "the locker room is nice" what I want you to understand is that it's individual stalls, with curtains (unlike Burgess. Come on, Burgess, you are losing in every bracket!) and granite surfaces and good water pressure and it actually gets properly hot. It's always clean aside from the single Pee Stank Incident, and it's not dripping wet all over. It's even tastefully indirectly lit? You can tell that Facebook money went into it, lmao. The pools themselves are great too. Warm, level with the pool deck, clean, clear, just really pleasant to swim in. Some flower or another around the pool area smells like honey and it's a little unreal. The deck is new and clean, with lots of seating and shade umbrellas. A lot of the parking is shaded with solar panels. The community center has great vibes too, and a weight room I haven't tried out but it looks nice and never too busy. But like, don't go here, okay? I'm letting you see my hidden gem but don't touch it. However. If you do, please, for the love of God, don't miss the urinal. If you mess this up for the rest of us I WILL find you.

It initially appeared that there were two rust areas but four were uncovered as plaster removal proceeded. Ernesto Vega, project manager, was really great to work with and quickly responded to our concerns as they arose (phone or text to him works fastest!). Aqua Blue Pools were very competitive with the other four bids we received, although a big factor in selecting them was that they had just completed our neighbor's pool and they are really happy with the results (pool looks beautiful). We are only three days into the startup process to establish the correct water chemistry and the pool, which looked great once Aqua Blue finished the job, is looking even better each day as the water color becomes more correct. BTW, be aware that the water out of the tap looks really odd when first added to the pool, like green swamp water in our location, until the chemical startup is complete (about one or two weeks) and the water chemistry is correct.
