This little place is a true gem. Friendly people making delicious, simple food at reasonable prices. It's a nice contrast to all the fancy food that is all over Greenport now, and a great lunch spot. The spinach and mix (pork and cheese) pupusas are amazing. I don't even know what the slaw stuff (pictured) is called, but it is also so very good. The Yelp map shows this one in the wrong place. Tucked away tiny few table sit down/ take out South American food.Cool off the grid feeling lunch spot yet in the village of Greenport. Could easily pass by, easy to miss. This is in the same center as a popular Deli and Pizza place but around the other side facing the main road, but tucked back and small. Interesting sodas, but went for a Corona with lime which they have in the back. So ask for it! Tried the Papusa's, mixed was best. Tried a burrito also. This seems to be Salvadorian. A little blander than a tex/ mex style. Came with hot sauce, sour cream and a small iceberg salad. Warm friendly people, and a nice change from standard choices out here. read more

However given how small the place is and that the small menu options are written on a wall (no physical menus) I was disappointed when I asked for the rice and beans to be substituted for cassava which was also on the menu so I had to settle for the rice and beans. I'd never had Salvadoran food, but saw this spot had a lot of great reviews on Yelp, and it was around the corner from where we were... so we decided to stop by for takeout! The short: 2 awesome women serving up yummy, homemade-feeling food. The longer: this spot is no frills (cash only, styrofoam plates, a couple of tables inside) but has been crowded every time we've walked by. The woman at the counter was so nice! We ordered basically one of everything for 6 people. The food was all SO fresh, and the place is super affordable. The fried chicken, fried fish and pupusas were unbelievably good. I'd never had a pupusa, but I'm pretty sure that cheese pupusa puts all quesadillas to shame. Cheesy. Deliciousness. We will definitely be back- super glad Greenport has this gem! read more

Got a beef burrito & an assortment of papusas. Delicious. The burrito was fat and stuffed with quality ingredients. But the papusas! Perfectly fried and generously filled with cheese, beans, pork, and spinach. This place is an authentic Salvadoran home dining experience. It is NOT touristy. It is not trying to reel in hipsters, tourists (like me), or the Hamptons crowd. It exists to serve the local Central American community, so enter with appropriate expectations. I paid a modest $21, but I don't know how much each item cost because the menu, written on a whiteboard, does not include prices. I definitely received good value for my money. The lady on the phone/at the counter speaks English a bit better than I speak Spanish (which I don't), but we did have a miscommunication on my order. That's on me. But if you speak Spanish or are willing to accept some communication challenges, I heartily recommend Rinconcitos. I love papusas and these are some of the best I've ever eaten. read more

This place is the best hole in the wall. It's literally hidden between dental practices and other small offices in a cluster of strip mall about a block away from the pier. The menu is hand written on a white board directly below the service counter. If you don't see anyone at the counter, don't despair. Just look for that little bell. Ding! If you have not tried pupusa before, I would highly recommend it here. It's basically hand made corn tortilla with different types of filling inside. You can hear the ladies making them by hand in the kitchen by that "pat pat pat" sound they make from working with the cornmeal dough. You know that's as legit as it gets! Also tried the fried fish, which was very reasonably priced. The portion was huge and it came with rice and salad. It was fried pretty crispy. I would have perhaps like is a little less, but overall still good. This fish is probably good enough to share with another person, unless you're greedy... Like me... Their quesadilla was also pretty decent. It was filled with plenty of meat and cheese. However, if I have to choose again between order the quesadilla versus the pupusa, I would've just ordered a couple more pupusas and skipped the quesadilla. Once you finished eating (there's a good chance you won't be able to finish all of it), don't forget to hit the pier and walk it all off! read more

The place is very small, but the food was good. We got pupusas a very traditional Salvadoren dish. Spinach, mix and loroco with cheese. ALL good. We also ordered tacos and the meat was grilled served in corn tortillas, onions and cilantro with lemon. Also pretty good. While being there, the other table ordered soups and it smelled great. Served with rice and hand-made tortillas. I hope to come back next time I am in Greenport. Do not confused this place with Tex-Mex food. read more

But for what they lack in atmosphere they make up for in some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten at a very low price. Their pupusas are incredible and their other dishes are amazing as well. Like a lot of East End towns, Greenport suffers from many overpriced and underwhelming restaurants, so we decided to seek out more casual places. Rinconcito Hispano, run by some very talented Salvadoran women, was a true find--we ate there for a lunch and a dinner, and both were delicious and inexpensive. Choices include really amazing papusas, plus (Salvadoran) quesadillas, burritos and tacos, as well as beef, chicken and fish platters--and special soups at lunch. You order your food at the counter, to stay or go. We ate there, and we were the only gringos, which was not an issue as far as we could tell, but you're definitely not in the club of regulars! If you eat there, they have cold Coronas and Negro Modelos so all is well with the world. At the same time, they do a ton of to-go orders, so you can take your food to the nearby port area if you're just visiting. The address on Yelp is a little misleading--the entrance (and parking) is off Front Street btwn 3rd and 4th Streets. It's in Stirlington Commons, but only if you go right past the popular deli towards Front Street. Seriously, this will be one of your memorable meals in Greenport if you appreciate straight-up Central American cooking. And if you're new to this food, it's not spicy like Mexican can be. Much like the light at the end of the tunnel, Rinconcito provides the papusas at the end of Long Island. Tortas, tacos, chicken, and stews are also on the menu. I stick to the papusas, maybe a few with chicken and cheese and some revueltas (pork, cheese, beans). Grab a seat and a horchata since the food needs some time to be prepared for you. read more

Very good food - menu is very basic but the prices are very reasonable. the pupusas were freshly made with a tasty variety of sauces to choose from. My preference was the "mix" pupusa. Definitely worth a try. I agree with a previous review stating the Yelp address is definitely misleading. read more
