Needed a Columbian food fix and thankful this place is around for some good eats in the Hamptons! It's located on the property of a super sketchy looking motel but look past that and walk inside this restaurant and you'll be greeted by warm servers and a welcoming space. I mostly stick to choices of the soup of the day and their bandeja typica entree because it's a crazy amount of food with a nice variety and seriously enough food to feed two. They do a great job of packing everything well but wish they wouldn't be so stingy with their hot sauce packs... Still, I'm really happy that I don't have to go far for authentic Colombian food when I'm out at our vacay spot! read more

The best offering we found at this place were their shakes. The food was blah, didn't blow us away, the customer service okay, the ambiance just okay and the dishes seemed overpriced. On charging the meal to the credit card, they automatically added the 15% gratuity, without asking, and then brought a receipt to sign that deceitfully included a tip line. If one is not paying attention, it could lead to double tipping. I find it disrespectful for restaurants to force the tip. It should be up to the customers. read more

Literally, the best steak I've EVER eaten. I'm not a steak person and I was hesitant to try it, it was PHENOMENAL. Their rice and beans are also the best that I've ever eaten. The chicken was so tender and moist. I can't emphasize how good the food was. Michelin star quality food for a reasonable price. The staff was polite and friendly. It took a little time to get the food but it's worth the 10-15 minute wait. It's made with LOVE! On a different occasion, I ordered some of their chicken soup To-Go when I was sick. I felt so much better the next day. It cleared my clogged nose and the heat felt nice on my throat. Just make sure not to swallow the chicken bones!There's lots of them in the soup. After a night out at Wolffer Vineyard (where they don't actually serve food), we were starving back at the Hamptons house. We decided on La Enramada, a mom-and-pop restaurant doing ethnic Latin food in Southampton, which is a rare find. We got a few platters of the Grilled Skirt Steaks, Carne Asada with chicharron, Grilled Chicken Breasts, and Whole Roasted Chicken. The platters came with plenty of sides, including maduros, rice & beans, and french fries. We got extra sides of beef/chicken empanadas, cheese arepas, avocado salad, Spanish rice, and lots and lots of green sauce! The food was authentic and well-prepared, though I wouldn't say extraordinary in flavors. Being from NYC, I'm pretty familiar with Spanish food and the Colombian food served here. Some of the meats were dry, including the chicken and carne asada. I'm a fan of Spanish sides, and the maduros and empanadas were great. There were also plenty of leftovers. In terms of the food I give it five stars - amazingly flavorful Colombian dishes that were a welcome respite from your typical basic Hamptons selections. Some of the dishes I loved the most were the piping hot empanadas, the guac and tostones, the maduros, and my camarones al ajillo, which came with salad, rice, AND fries. All so tasty and wonderful when washed down with my not-too-sweet sangria! I give it one less star because of the not-so-friendly and absentminded service. The hostess asked if we called ahead when our party came in for a 4:30pm meal and the place was nearly empty. They provided high chairs for the babies in our group, which was nice, but kept forgetting everything else we asked for, like extra utensils. The same lady took our order and really didn't seem helpful to those who asked her opinion on dishes or more info on dishes. Then when it was time to get going we had four people who had leftover to take home, so we asked for three boxes and a cup for the soup. The waitress had a strange look on her face like it was a weird thing to ask for, then came back with the cup and one box. I explained again that we needed two more boxes. She looked at me weird again, like it was such an odd request, then came back with one more box. I had to ask her a third time for another box and get another weird look from her. I don't get what the deal was there! I didn't know what I felt like eating but ended up at this Latin American restaurant with arroz con pollo (chicken with rice) which was satisfying and a large serving. The entree also came with a very home style chicken soup and fries. The server was friendly and locals seemed to frequent the restaurant. The menu was pretty extensive and offered many items I've seen at Cuban restaurants I've visited. Enramada is located off of busy Country Road 39 and is easy to miss. Stopped by with my mom to grab take out, we got two of my favorite dishes plátanos maduros fried yuca and the half chicken. It was honestly the worst food ever we couldn't even eat it. The plátanos were hard and dry and not soft and caramelized like they're supposed to be when cooked properly and or made fresh. The yuca which honestly I don't know how they messed this up was sooo incredibly hard it was like trying to chew through sticks. At last I figured I could at least eat the chicken but not to my surprise the chicken was dry and overly salty. I'm really not usually picky but it was awful. I give this place a two star because I ordered food here and appetizer and a meal, and the appetizer came out with the meal in the mail was not very hot but the appetizer was they did not apologize I guess they thought that's how it was supposed to be served. This was a company dinner but when I use my corporate card, they told me the cards chip was bad which I know is false. Had high hopes for this place based on the Yelp reviews but in a word the food here was rough. Our lunch was greasy, the meat was tough and very over cooked: some to the point of being jerky despite asking for medium rare. Given the quality and skill coming from the kitchen, it was clear that the cook was not capable of better so we decided just to bring the mountain of food we had left over to a friend to give to his dog. Turns out that our friend had experienced eating at this restaurant as well, and he refused to feed anything from it to his pet. I guess that sums it up. My wife and I had appetizers first, the empanadas which were filled with beef and crispy on the outside,we had the Arepas,which was a sweetcorn patty with cheese on top and the tostones which were cooked sweet plantains, all so delicious. Then we had the mixed grill for two. It had a good sized 10 ounce steak, two chicken breasts, a big pork chop, a sausage chorizo, french fries and on the side were white rice and red beans all so tasty. The whole meal was $45! We checked out Enramada on a recent visit to Southampton. It was a tough choice between here and a fancy seafood place we had our eyes on, but we think we made the right choice. We were the only people in the restaurant who weren't fluent in Spanish, including our waitress, which we took for a good sign. I started with a margarita that was made perfectly. The portions were quite large so we ordered the chicken empanadas (a side that comes with 3), a cheese arepa, and a grilled chicken main dish with grilled plantains, rice and beans, which was more than enough for 2 of us and only ran us $46 (including the drink). The empanadas had a corn meal crust which was delicious. The arepa has a thick layer of cheese with a bit of crunch to it that was great on it's own or with the main. The main had a substantial piece of chicken that was grilled perfectly, leaving a lot of moisture. The rice and beans were simple and the plantain was a little overcooked but still good. Our service was a bit slow and our bill was substantially higher than it should have been because of some additional items on it. The issue was corrected but the service could have been better. I'd check this place out if I were in the area and interested in Colombian food. read more

As someone else said, this place is easy to overlook from the outside, but inside it is bright, colorful and charming! Our server was very welcoming and friendly. The service was extremely friendly and the place looked very cozy and authentic. I've never been to a Columbian restaurant so I ordered the "typical" dish with pork rind and my girlfriend ordered a rice dish. Both came out quickly and were absolutely delicious. Portions are satisfying to the eye and to the appetite. The chef, even though not from Colombian, has mastered the skills of those who have been cooking these traditional dishes for years. The atmosphere resembles a cabaña in the middle of coffee plantations. It's a beautiful decor full of authentic designs of color, music, and overall ambiance. How does the phrase "Bless their hearts" translate into Spanish? That idiom would serve as a good watch phrase for this restaurant, which gets 4 stars for the food, but 2 stars for the service ... though with a bless-their-hearts asterisk. We had dinner on a Saturday evening, learning at the end of a near-comical experience with bungled orders that there was only a SINGLE chef in the kitchen desperately trying to keep up with a steady flow of orders from the restaurant in addition to a robust carry-out business that had customers flowing constantly in and out of the front door. But the place was lively, and it seemed the entire Latin population of Southampton had turned out for the evening. And then there is the food -- the blandly-named "shrimp in sauce," was anything but bland with a light delicately-herbed butter sauce reminiscent of camarones al ajillio. My 11-year old had what she termed "heavenly salmon," and four in our party enjoyed perfectly grilled carne asada.
