While cruising around Westhampton Beach looking for something to eat.... it was one of those I can't find anything to eat moments... and then suddenly Los Tres Diamontes was right there glaringly obvious though often passed by. Hi are you open.. : ) ))) ?? two nice ladies seemed busy getting ready for the dinner crowd, cook in the back, we were about an hour early and had the place to ourselves. Not a drop of English to be had.. all the better. Menu's were in English and it was easy to see when in here you go for the fajitas with steak/shirmp and you definately try the tacos... but were the tacos soft or hard shell.. gotta have hard shells..... ahh but confirming "hard shell" would be a challenge.... "taco soft or hard???" help came out of the kitchen and now we all tried to make sure we understood.. ahh the fun of amateur sign language... We used the tortillas to point and compare.. Si!! yay! grande! no?...ok Out the sizzling Latin fare came.. and it was clear this was the only place to be in this town .. at least right now.. I mean come on... multi colored table cloths, neon lights chasing the bar area, music oh yeah... the party was on... or at least was about to be .... The Hamptons has a vibrant hispanic community, a good number of South Americans are now successful business owners - Nice to see the new wave of immigrants succeeding as did all of the other waves before them. This food was good.. not too spicy and good.. sides were good. Hot sauce was good, salsa. All a good choice for an authentic Latin restaurant. read more

I miss the previous chef...the chicken soup was amazing! However, you can try authentic Hispanic food here. It is more of night place, but definitely come here for lunch to experience the environment. The staff are polite and they many different things to try on the menu. read more

The food here is great. It is very authentic, and mostly filled with Latino clientele, and waitresses. If you are a gringo, be prepared to stand out. I have been here a number of times, and have never been disappointed. My family usually likes going with me, because I speak Spanish. If I'm not there, they usually fear the communication gap and skip it. This time, they had an older white waitress, who of course was sent immediately to our table. She was pretty rude and very awkward. Luckily, we got a good laugh out of how ridiculous some of her comments were. We were sorry to bother her with our business! Either way, the food makes this worth any awkward situation. I especially love the pupusas with cheese and camarones con crema. read more

This is not where I expected to wind up when I visited Westhampton. Normally when I spend time on the east end of Long Island, my partner and I tend to gravitate obsessively to local restaurants serving up local seafood. But, sometimes our California taste buds take over and compel us to seek out something a little less No'East, which is exactly what we got in Los tres Diamontes (Three Diamonds). We dove into the chip basket, light and ungreasy, with the good enough salsa. Out came our drinks, a horchata and tamarindo, both tasty sugar bombs. Then, two pupusas, the revuletas kind, stuffed with pork, cheese, and a smidge of beans perhaps. This might be the cheapest eats in all of the Hamptons, each pupusa just $2 each (and two pupusas is really all you need). Now, where I am in San Francisco, we eat a lot of pupusas. Pupusas in San Francisco are almost the equivalent of pizza in New York. Los Tres Diamontes' pupusas really impressed. The masa cake was thin, with no risk of overwhelming the stuffing ingredients. Meanwhile the stuffing ingredients were evenly distributed, no bite suffering from too much or too little of anything. Both the masa and the stuffing was flavorful and rich without being greasy. I did not fall in love with their curtido, the vinegary, crunchy cabbage slaw that cuts through the heft of the pupusa. Los Tres Diamontes' curtido was a little wan. Not particularly zesty, tart, or even salty enough. It suited fine, but could be improved. We also got a camarones fritos en crema ($11). We had zero expectations of what this dish would be beyond the briefly inadequate menu description of "fried shrimps in cream." I just saw "crema" and said oh hell, why not. I like to take chances, especially when crema is involved. Out came an easy dozen or more huge pan fried shrimp in a slightly spicy tomato-cream sauce, sauteed alongside onions and green peppers. On the plate was a cup of whole black beans, a mountain of seasoned rice, perfectly ripe avocado, and a ignore-able iceberg lettuce cold tomato slices side salad. Were the shrimp locally caught? Probably not, but they were perfectly cooked and the sauce was addictive (crema will do that). Had I thought from the menu description that the shrimp would be deep fried? Yes, but it was much better the way it was served. This was a generous portion, but since it was so good we ate it until the only thing left was the sad side salad. The restaurant is going for a sexy waitresses in matching outfits (well, they were more uncomfortably tight looking than sexy), but midweek on the summer shoulder season, the restaurant wasn't boisterous to support the fashion choices. The food is great enough that Los Tres Diamontes shouldn't have to serve up waitress' lady lumps. Just focus on more amazing food and I'll come here every time I'm on the south fork. read more

Food was delicious! I had seafood soup which had varieties of seafood. My husband had pupusas revueltas which were good as well. We went around 8PM and is not a family atmosphere as there are many men drinking and loud music. Tables are scattered everywhere- in every angle. The tables behind me and aside of me were 8 inches away lol a little comfortable...But other than that, the food is delicious !!!! read more

I'd say for the first hour, we were the only gringos in the restaurant. For me, that's a good sign of authentic cuisine. As others mentioned, the waitresses spoke very little English which is kind of surprising. You'd think they'd learn some key words, but they were polite and smiled as we tried to communicate. The menu was extensive with many typical Salvadoran type options. Lots of pork, seafood, chicken and beef. Platters were very large for the price and had many items including salad (not necessary, more like a garnish), queso fresco, avocado, rice, beans, chicharrones and various meats/seafood. it reminded me of Mi Tierrita in Patchogue. For drinks, besides maybe the top 5-6 soft drinks, they had drinks like Tamarid soda and Horchata. The prices were not "Hamptons" prices, but more reasonable. This kind of made sense as they're not catering to the stereotypical Hamptons clientele, but the local Latino community. It is located on Montauk Highway, not along Main St in Westhampton Beach. So it is a destination point, unless you're going to the nursery next door. If I had one criticism it would be that my meat was a little too salty. But I dipped it in the delicious beans and that helped tone down the salt. If I wanted to go out for authentic Latino cuisine again, I'd definitely consider returning to Los Tres Diamontes. read more

Delicious food and the staff could not be nicer. Came here with my son for an early dinner. We were there around 6:00 on a Saturday and it was fairly empty. We sat down and by the time we got our food the place filled up. We started with cheese and bean pupusas which were great. Chicken and fish for dinner were both awesome. While there seems to be ample staff, very little attention is paid to patrons, and there appears to be no concern whatsoever for patrons. The food is not particularly good- had the chicken soup, Beef Fajitas, enchiladas; nothing worth trying again. There seems to be some takeout business, probably avoiding the service. I would avoid this spot and try one of the other local spots, staff isn't rude, just very lackadaisical. Really unfortunate as it is a convenient location. Try somewhere else. read more

Overrated Westhampton Central/ South American restaurant seems to be popular with locals but I can't imagine why. The complimentary chips and salsa had no flavor at all. Tried ordering the stewed chicken but the waitress informed me they didn't have it. Then, since I couldn't decide what else I wanted, the waitress hovered over us until I decided on option B. Thanks for rushing me and making us uncomfortable! Ordered the chicken with onions. A huge plate comes out of stewed chicken with onions, peppers, rice, salad, avocado and beans. The chicken was super dry and the sauce was virtually flavorless. Tried to jazz it up with table hot sauce but it's a habanero sauce which seriously burned going down. Equally blasé was the roast chicken. Dry as a desert. Only thing good was my banana shake. Service is spotty and there's a language barrier if you don't speak Spanish. Luckily, prices are low. I will not come back and I do not recommend this place . read more

Local Latino food with good prices and quality. The servers know very little English so use your Google translator or your very best Spanish, or point to the pictures in the menu. Love the tostones, grilled shrimp platter and Salvadoran platter. Sometimes the juke box blasts so be prepared if you want to have some conversation fo another time. A great find for south american food in westhampton! The pupusas are a deal, my favorites are the "especial" as well as the bean and cheese. Mostly spanish speaking, but I've always felt welcome not speaking a word. Great authentic food is to be found. give them a shot for takeout. read more
