GelX manicure with cat eye and designs + cut (see ring finger- this is after a bit of healing & antiseptic)
Emily S.

Had my first visit to RiNo Nail bar and it's a mixed bag. Pros- the atmosphere is nice inside. I especially like the set up for manis and pedis. The mani stations are set up like an actual bar so it's really nice to be able to go and chat with friends while you are there. The chairs and bar heights are comfortable and perfect for getting your nails done. The young woman who did my nails seemed fairly flexible around helping me pick from the designs I was looking at and actually ended up picking two and mixing them together. I really like working with folks who are comfortable with a little creative license. Overall, she did a pretty nice job but there were some snags along the way. I also like that the art and extras seem priced together- sometimes places will add on all sorts of odds and ends for any type of art, combining them seems like a more reasonable way to charge. Although the pricing is clear on the website, which I appreciate, the overall experience really fell short given how expensive the prices are. Cons- given that I'd checked out the prices ahead of time and my friend recommended the place, I was really looking forward to a top tier nail experience. I don't mind paying more for a nice experience. The staff seemed inconvenienced by our presence. The folks that ended up helping us didn't even introduce themselves before just asking us "what do you want?" I don't expect a ton of conversation, but basic niceties are the bare minimum when you are paying a premium, in my opinion. The young lady helping me also cut my finger which I understand happens occasionally but she tried to say it was because of a hang nail but I saw her clipping the same spot when some of the gel spilled over. She also didn't apologize or check to see if I was ok when she saw me bleeding. The overall finish was pretty good but there's definitely some missed spots with the top coat which again, you don't expect at a higher end place. I also thought given the nail bar name and actual bar, the lack of beverages available/offered seems like a missed opportunity to elevate the experience. TL; DR- pretty good nails and artistry, lack luster customer experience. Would I go back again? Probably not in this economy. I can't justify the cost with a middling experience. I'd rather go to a business that likes having me there.

Rings of fire

I stopped in a few weeks ago with two friends to get our nails done. I got a dip manicure with tips to make everything the same length. Standard enough I figured. The tech rushed through my manicure and almost cut to my cuticles while filing quickly and aggressively. I mention this because the tech that was working on my friend sitting next to me actually did cut my friend's finger while filing her nails. Everyone seemed like they were in such a hurry, which they were to move through as many people as possible. The nails themselves looked nice when they were done, however, the dip cracked within 24 hours. I also thought the cuticle work wasn't very clean. The tips also were not flush so they were lifting and I had issues with stuff getting stuck underneath them. Plus they were so thick too. I had considered going back to get them fixed but I honestly did not want to go back after my first experience. Upon removing the dip a few weeks later, I discovered pretty significant rings of fire on my nails. They're very deeply ridged too from the overfiling, so I would recommend the salon spend time on training proper e-file use and to slow down while filing so as to not injure customer's nails. This is extremely frustrating after spending $80 on my nails too.

She didn't pick the correct size for my left pinky and sloppy paint job. It started lifting on the side toward the tip.

I wanted to like this nail salon because a co-worker gets her nails done here and they usually look good but, oof, I'm not going back. Asked for a short to medium coffin shape gel x set and my nail tech was nice, she just maybe needs more training on application. I didn't get to inspect as closely as I should have (lesson learned!) because it was on my lunch break, but was surprised when I did finally start moving my hands around and looking at them closer. I ended up taking them off myself by day two because the left pinky wasn't fully covered and all of the nails were pointing upwards from too much gel. I couldn't stand looking at them anymore. For $80, plus tip, it was not worth it at all. If you do decide to get your nails done here, good luck. One upside is that it's nearby some cool breweries and distilleries.

To start everyone here is very nice and I never have a problem making appointments. The shape of my nails were also consistently uniform and just the way I like it. This is purely a review on acrylics. I have been getting acrylic nails for the past 15 years and have never had any issues other than occasional premature lifting. I just moved to Colorado and was devastated after leaving my long-term nail tech. Gave this place a try because it looked nice, and had good review. It was a tad pricey but I am willing to pay for good quality. Unfortunately, the quality and skill of these manicurists is not up to par. After going to them 5 times, twice for new sets and 3 times for refill I can say the acrylic time frame is 2-3 weeks if I am lucky without lifting. This most recent time my manicurist did not properly take care of a lifting nail and put acrylic right on top after she knew I washed my nails. I had mentioned to her it was lifting and she said she took care of it, well she didn't and in turn when I came back it gave me nail fungus. As I have been getting my nails done for over 15 years, I know this was completely preventable and happened because this individual was not well versed with acrylics. I did not change any habit, and this have never happened to before. Sad to say I will not be coming back and only recommend if you are getting a basic manicure. Overall 2/5

10/10 Don't recommend !DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!! Let me start with the man who did my nails was rushing , acting annoyed because I wanted a design, also didn't listen to what I wanted . The nail polish started to peel 4 days after I got them done . My experience is so bad. I didn't even wanna go back to get it fixed and here. With in two weeks three broken nails and every single one of them the nail polishes came off within the first week and a half. .. Save your money. They also are super expensive for a shitty experience and shitty product. I've had my nails last a month without peeling or breaking until I came here.

You can see my old nail polish still on my cuticles.

If you want a rushed, low quality, over-priced manicure, go here. These guys are all about doing the absolute minimum. I can't blame the staff completely. If I was stuffed into a poorly ventilated manicure assembly line like a sardine and forced to do walk-in after walk-in, I'd try to get away with doing a half-a*sed job too. The vibe is get in, give us your money, and get the f out. The girl didn't even get my old nail polish off all the way! I paid $66 plus tip for this, lol.

The only nail salon I'll go to in Denver! Jessie is the absolute best. Not only does she do great nails but the conversation is great and I always feel incredibly respected by her. My experiences with other nail techs have also been great, but Jessie is my girl and always knows exactly what I like. And she always fixes my nails when I break them Would recommend this salon to anyone seeking great quality nails!

Nail shape and length by Jessi. I recommend Jessi. Polish was put on by another nail tech. Love the shape, length and color. The polish was poorly done unfortunately, it's spotty. I chose a matte top coat. Some areas are still shiny. At the end of my service lotion was put on my hands and then wiped with a warm towel. It was nice but I didn't catch the imperfections because of the moisture from the lotion and warm towel.

The salon is clean and everyone is friendly but my $80 dip manicure did not last even 24 hours. My thumb chipped from nothing, I went in the next day and they fixed it and then less than 2 days later the same finger chipped again and 4 of my other nails cracked so now I'm scared those will chip soon/quickly too. I usually get them done somewhere else for $50 and they last 4-5 weeks.

I'm so picky when it comes to nail salons but I am SO happy with how these turned out. Tiffany was so sweet and detailed (and also super fast!). Will definitely be coming back to see her.

What a fabulous nail salon. From cleanliness to careful attention to detail this salon will be my go to acrylics spot!!! I am getting married next week and Justin really took care of me. I can't wait to come back for a pedicure! Shout out to Tiff for showing me this place!!! 10/10 recommend if you're in Denver.

How much for the classic manicure and classic pedicure?

I am not sure the exact prices but it's super reasonable! My mom and I both got classic pedicures, myself a classic manicure and her SNS dip and we got out for under $140!

This owner is clearly unwell, who would do something like that. Tech did not spend 20-25 minutes. It was a 10 minute service. Even she said as I was checking out that I should just be billed for a polish change. The tech filed 2 nails for 30 seconds. I scheduled and came in for a polish change which they told me would take 10 minutes and it did. owner insisted afterwards that i pay for a mini manicure which i did not receive per the tech who confirmed verbally with the check out clerk. no massage. no filing and buffing. no lotion, no cutting of cuticles. $33 for a polish change seems excessive and greedy. make sure you get pricing up front from them. aesthetics and interior design very low end, looks cheap and sloppily put together. I tipped the tech $10 on venmo because I do not trust the owner to give the tip to the tech. When I asked them to call the owner back to confirm I was being charged for a service I didn't receive, the owner didn't pick up nor text her worker back. After waiting for 10 minutes I just paid so I could leave. Not a good way to run a business.

I came in with almond shape and just asked to have them shorter, but the same shape. Every time they did it, the shape was not almond, the nails were not even in length, and all around, they could not get them right. The gel application was also poor quality, once it was so thick it looked like plastic and I had to push them to redo it for free, another time it started to peal after 3 days. When you pay a lot of money for a gel manicure, I expect a great outcome. I'm sure they have technicians who know what they are doing, but I want to come in, relax, and get a great manicure.

I was going to Lane for six months at Acronychous. No issues with nail designs as she's talented in…read morereplicating the designs I sent. My issue is with customer loyalty. During my time as a client I was asked by Lane to reschedule 3 of my appointments without explanation. All of which I accommodated by moving things on my schedule. On Sept 3rd, I received a text once again asking to change my appointment on Oct. 29th @ 4p to Oct 28th same time. While I said OK, I asked that this be the last reschedule as it was third time and honestly it was inconvenient - especially considering these appointmentsare booked months in advance so, I build my schedule around it. Fast forward to Oct 27 and I have chosen a design and as usual sent it to Lane via IG stating this was for our Wed Appt on the 29th since that was the time/date still on my calendar from their scheduler and I didn't think about the text two months ago. (To Note: Whenever an appointment was sent by them (even a change) it's updated in the Google calendar). She responded to my message saying " You Got It!". I'm always excited when getting my nails done and have a trip planned this week so, I was really looking forward to it. So, the next day (Tuesday), I receive a text from Lane at 3:52p saying "Hiiii! Just realizing your insta message said Wednesday and our appt is today at 4! Just confirming that I'll see you in a few ". Wait what? I was confused so, I sent her a screenshot of my calendar and email which had the appointment for Wed and was FROM the nail shop. Also, how do you just realize this 8 min prior to an appointment? She asked if I received an email with the new date and time to which I said no because if I had - it would have updated in my calendar. She then says she has no other 4p appts for the remainder of the week. I said " Fine, I guess I'll see you next month" as I was understandably disappointed. She then offered a time for next week to which I say " No thank you. Have a great weekend" because I have a meeting I can't move. Her response? "My policy does state that 100% of a service will be charged for last minute cancellation/no show....ill add that charge to your next appointment on Tuesday, November 25th at 2pm." Seriously? For her mistake/oversight, she wants to charge me basically double next time? Mind you I spend at LEAST $170 each visit not including the 20 - 25% tip I leave every time. Not only that - I've accommodated her requests THREE TIMES prior even though I had to move something. I have been consistent customer who at most has been 7 minutes late MAYBE twice and have always communicated and have been apologetic. I was so disappointed by the unprofessionalism that I canceled my remaining appointments for the year and will not be returning. Just goes to show that loyalty and flexibility doesn't mean much to some service providers.
