I'll start with saying I had a great pedicure at nail story. I thought the reviews were mixed but I work nearby and what can I say, I just really wanted a convenient place to go after work, so I was determined to give it a shot! I'm glad I did. Based on the other reviews talking about getting turned away, I decided to make a reservation ahead of time for 4pm on a Wednesday. Same day reservation by the way. I was greeted timely and picked my color and off we went! I got a basic, normal polish pedi. I did observe that some others who walked in without an appointment were turned away. It's a relatively small place with 3 nail techs when I was there, so make a reservation if you can. The salon itself is cozy, clean and it is in a cute part of town by commons park. My normal nail lady was out of town so I tried this spot for the first time since it was close to me. I am writing this review in tears leaving the salon. Everyone at this salon is SO nice and it's a really clean, well designed spot but I'm leaving with lumpy gel x nails that are crooked, don't match each other and are really really bad. I asked for an almond shape and my nails are legit round still. I tried to have her fix it about 2-3 times in terms of at last getting the shape right and finally gave up. The sides of my nails aren't painted all the way down and they are not angled right and just crooked feeling. I just wanted to be honest and say that this salon really was a not great experience for me sadly. read more

Okay so I have a usual place. I know the price but I wanted something in walking distance. I also wanted a backup. Walked in and asked for pedicure as told okay. The space was very clean, which was nice. I was told to do gel because I didn't have open toed shoes. The "manager" pressured me so I went with gel. Overall the pedicure was okay not bad not great. However it was highly over priced. The woman doing the pedicure did not paint my pinky toes. I have 4 pink toes on each foot and clearly a bare small pinky toe. I get it's a small nail but really at that price paint the nail! I'm disappointed as with tip it was over $100 for a pedicure. Next time I'll drive to my original spot. Lesson learned. read more

They need to redo this one for free - no tip. Painful and embarrassing. Basic mani-pedi for a weekend away. Of course - no refunds. But see the pictures. Never have had such a bad mani. Its actually painful. Cheap shit. Denver mani-pedis are pricey - at least double the price of NYC, NJ and most other urban areas. Within 2 days, the polish cracked, my skin was coming off. To be clear - I showered twice and washed my hands 2-4 times a day for bathroom. On vacation, so no housework, no heavy work, no rough use. Really displeased with garbage. Its not worth any price. I'd rather go somewhere else. She rushed through, did not do a good job, awful. Ripoff. An older lady did the pedi and the pedi is still going. The color is holding on. If you look closely you can see some things that shouldn't be, but overall I'm good with it. I was hoping to find a good place in the neighborhood. This is a hard pass. I didn't know they require reservations and was a walk in at 4:30 on Sunday. They were busy and asked if I wanted to wait for 20 minutes or come back. I chose to come back at 5 as I live in the same plaza they are located. I am happy to have found a place so close to where I live and meticulous workmanship. Very clean and friendly. Stopped by to get my nails trimmed and cleaned, gel soaked off while in Denver for a work trip. Ragz got a pedicure and thought it was average. We are also super spoiled by our regular nail place closer to home so the comparison maybe a little unfair. The place is very clean, quiet and spa like. I was able to get a reservation online and they started on time which I appreciated. They had their 8 month old Puppy in there and he was absolutely adorable. I'd be happy to come back for Pilo alone haha! My nail soak off and trim was good - she was attentive, didn't spend any time chit chatting with other folks and focused on her work. Let me start by saying they have the sweetest staff, I have been coming here on and off for about 6 months. This week, I went in for a gel manicure and picked a light pink color. As they began to do my nails, it was apparent that the color was see-through. They wound up putting 4-5 coats on. I did not notice until after I left the salon that it still looked splotchy. This place is so cute!! I came here to get my toes done along with my mother. I made an appointment for 2:45 & we got here maybe 5-7 mins early but they took us right away. Showed up the menu about what pedicure options were available which was very simple. I like simple. Going into a nail place with 10 different pedicure options stressed me out haha. I had Lisa as my pedicurist & she was very nice, took her time with my service, & made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. We got the lavender pedicure ($60) which included a leg exfoliation to start off followed by a leg mask with a hot towel wrapped around it. Then they cut & filed down the nail, buffed, did the cuticles, etc. After that was about a 10 mins leg massage with lotion, oil, hot stones, & they took that all off with a hot towel. Finally they prepped the toes for color & Lisa did a wonderful job with the application. Such a pretty color for both my mom & I!! This might be my new favorite nail salon. As soon as I walked in and got seated I had already felt like what I expressed I wanted wasn't being valued, I showed the nail artist the pastel pink I wanted and was told the color didn't look like the picture because of my skin complexion. I let it go and let her do her thing. I wanted to get a gel Manicure and as soon as she did the first coat she asked if it was okay and I asked if the color got darker after a few coats she said yes... these pictures were the final result. I was very upset and wanted something else and as bad as I felt you can tell she got frustrated then she told the store manager and she just giggled. I didn't think anything was funny considering Im paying over 90$ for basic services. I just asked for the color to be removed and she then put something on my nails left it there as it burned my cuticles to the point it made me cry and on top of that I felt my service was unprofessional and rushed. As a woman being helped by another I would have appreciated being treated with care and decent humanity. After not-so-great experiences in Denver with nails, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was clean, welcoming, nice chairs and easy parking. I asked ahead of time to have my mani and pedi at the same time, not sure why this is not a thing here but I don't feel like spending double time at the salon. They did a great job on filing, cuticles and shaping. They could be more gentle on the cuticle, a bit too rough with the pushing tool. The polish application was flawless, but it would be nice to have a fan to dry in between coats so I didn't need to wait for 20 minutes after. I was a bit annoyed by the $5 charge for the Opi long-lasting polish but they did have the matching base and top coat. I just feel like it's another way to add charges. One thing I have an issue with here is they don't use plastic disposable barriers in the tubs. This is a hygiene thing and just needs to become the standard. Also, the tools were not individually packed, and not sure how they were cleaned. I think they were in alcohol but not clear. Coming from SF the standards on this were higher. read more

I called on a Friday to make an appointment for the next day and did not have any trouble getting in. I scheduled a manicure for noon, and they were right on time. The front desk staff was very nice. On the services menu up front, a basic French manicure is listed as $20, but I was told I owed $25 before tip, so that was a little strange -- still reasonably priced. The full manicure took around 20 minutes. This was not the best French manicure I have gotten; there are multiple bubbles, uneven lines, and some polish on my skin. From a far, my nails look fine and this worked in a time pinch, but next time I need a French manicure, I will likely go elsewhere. read more

So I picked out normal OPI polish for pedi and paid $5 extra for an OPI polish that supposedly lasts longer, like gel, for mani. I hope I am not being petty here but after one day, the gel-like nail polish already chipped on several fingers. Not sure if it's the nail polish or that it just wasn't applied on well. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. They say they talk walk ins and my friend and I came in for a pedi& mani/pedi. There was not one single person in the salon and they acted mad and proceeded to tell me I could only pick one service.... So I pick a a pedi. It was very clear the whole time they just wanted to get me and my friend in and out. I have gotten a lot of pedicures and the whole point is to exfoliate/ massage and etc. this was more of a just a classic polish change but with a pedicure price. While she was doing my toes she cut one of them open, proceeded to glue it together to stop the bleeding??? When I go to pay they only take venmo which was annoying but fine. I pay for both my friend and mine and leave a small tip because it was a horrible experience. I use the restroom and am heading out, the lady stops me and tells me I only tipped "x" amount and that had to be split between the two... ok well I didn't want to tip at all because it was awful? Hidden gem right in the of the crux of Union Station and LoHi. I have been here twice, and have shopped around the general area for 10+ years in order to find a great nail salon. There are plenty of "good" ones that will get the job done, however these folks at Nail Story literally "nail it" every time. Their attention to detail and putting the customer first is very clear. I personally have been to other places in the area that feel like a "nail salon factory" where they spend as little time on you, and need to move on asap. The staff at Nail Story could not be more different. They are efficient, however make sure you are never rushed. The quality and cleanliness of their work is fantastic, and the polish is lasting. If you are a nail gal, lasting quality should hit home.
