We were the sole party in a cozy, a bit warm, surrounding. Very pleasant for friends to chit-chat away a couple of hours. In addition to the standard 5-items, she gave us two "bonus" pours: a light white wine and a bubbly. Services were well paced. We were not hurried and did not wait long for the next pour. The wines were quite drinkable but not really memorable. Syrah and Cara Mia, a Bordeaux blend, were more enjoyable. Chardonnay was steel barreled and therefore not oaky what-so-ever. I think that's a cost consideration, instead of a wine-making decision. I would probably not trek an hour to visit this place again. I bet locals enjoy this place essentially as a bring-your-own-foods outdoor bar.

I loved the layout of the venue very intimate with the stage but still tons of standing room and if you didn't want to be inside with the crowd there was a tv with the ample outside seating where you could watch the band. The bathrooms were very spacious and super clean. The little taco stand in the back was perfect too. The tacos were delicious. I wish we had a place just like Moe's in Sacramento . I will definitely come to Moe's again next time in town.

I've seen every band in the world, and GBA are the best. Their music is infectious, like a sonic virus that penetrates the auditory cortex and sets up standing waves of bliss and intrigue, and which also penetrates the motor cortex and sets your feet on autopilot. They find the dirtiest nastiest funkiest grooves with just the right amount of dissonance to keep you hooked, like an itch that you can only partially scratch. In addition to their own vulgar grooves, they pay homage to artists ranging from Gary Bartz, Gil Scott-Heron, and Michael Jackson to Burt Bacharach/Hal David and George Harrison. And they've been at this for over 30 years now - yet you look at them playing and they are constantly laughing and joking with each other. Somehow they still seem to love playing with each other, and that energy comes across to the audience at every show. This might be their hidden superpower - the love the 5 of them have somehow held onto for doing this together all this time.

I wait then he looks up again so I start telling him and he says "I'm washing my hands, gimme a fucking minute" like wow alright He washes his hands and I try to tell him the booth isn't working, he tells me there's a number on the booth I can text, I told him id seen it and I'm letting him know so they can put a sign up or something so no one else wastes money, he tells me its not their machine and to text the number then walks away. This was a great venue to see a comedy show. It's small enough to feel intimate but still large…read moreenough that it could easily host a concert too. First off, the venue is older in the best way. It's beautiful, full of charm, and has a uniqueness you just don't get in newer places. I'm personally a big fan of small to mid sized theaters with personality rather than giant venues built purely for mass audiences. This one definitely delivers on that. The theater feels like a mix of different historical influences coming together. I had a few guesses about its origins while I was there, and after a little Googling later I can say with confidence it's a restored movie palace/vaudeville theater that still hosts a variety of events today. It opened in 1926, and some of the original design features are still there. That honestly made me really excited because the place absolutely has those vibes. Inside, the architecture is really unique. It's kind of a courtyard meets castle theme. The ceiling was one of my favorite parts. It has a painted sky, with most of it covered by a canopy effect. Ceilings are such an underrated part of décor, but I always notice them, and this one was especially cool. There are also little decorative flower gardens under the windows that add to the courtyard atmosphere. Looking toward the stage really leans into the castle feeling, like you've somehow been transported back in time to watch a performance. Since we saw a comedy show the orchestra pit wasn't being used, but there were people sitting up in the balcony as well. The overhead lighting throughout the theater was beautiful too, very Tiffany lamp esque. Picture included. Outside the main theater area there's a bar and stairways leading up to the upper levels. I wish I had taken a picture but I completely forgot. The bathrooms are on opposite ends of the theater, and wow, talk about another little time travel moment. They're definitely old, but they work just fine. The stalls are shorter with smaller doors, which I assume matches the original partition style design. It reminded me of a saloon style restroom I once saw in an old historic town somewhere. For a moment it even made me feel taller than usual, which was unexpected. The theater is right downtown and within easy walking distance of a bunch of other businesses, which makes it a great place to see a show and then wander around afterward.

There was only one place to get food, which had tri tip sandwiches, BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chili dogs, and nachos. The tri tip sandwich was surprisingly good. It was so good that I ordered a second. Although this tasted amazing and all, my only gripe about the food was that there wasn't any variety. The bar area had limited types of alcohol as well. They only sold wine, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, White Claw, and Coors. There was a second bar located at the bottom of the hill where the stage was located, and it had similar selections. All seating at this venue was general, because it's basically one big grassy hill. With that said, you'll want to bring a low lawn chair and/or blanket and then find your spot on the grass. There was a dance pit right in front of the stage, and anyone could go down to it. I was impressed by how good the sound was especially for an open venue. We were sitting towards the top of the hill for the most part and were able to hear the singer clearly. The venue itself was pretty. I loved seeing the rolling Hollister Hills in the background behind the stage while the sun set and casted beautiful colors. There was also a clear night sky, so looking up to the stars and the Harvest full moon while rocking out to some favorite classics was truly romantic.

All three bands brought serious energy, great vibes, and fantastic performances. The venue itself is everything you want in a classic San Francisco rock club -- intimate, gritty in the best way, with excellent sound and that unbeatable up-close-and-personal feel. You can tell it's a place with real history and character. It's sad to think this might be one of the last times getting to experience a night like this there. Hate to see them go. Bottom of the Hill has hosted so many unforgettable evenings over the years, and this was another one for the books. If you're in SF and love live music, do yourself a favor and get out to this legendary spot while you still can.

One of the security's pushed me hard unexpectedly even made me drop my phone out of my hand when I tried picking up my phone from the ground, the security guard behind the fist one pushes me again, making assumptions that I hit the security and then proceeded on pulling my friends hair all the way outside while pushing me outside as well. Complaints have been filed by multiple ppl. And police are on our side! They also said that they've have shut down the place many times (abt 5-6 times) but it re opens to a new name!
