Worst club i been to ever ! We payed vip and after talking to all staff non of them allowed us inside the vip section despite paying $150 person when I had a party of 8. All staff was ignorant and the owner as well invited us and also didn't even care to give us a refund or listen to us. The owner just ignored us and didn't care. They bring in some cool singers every now and then but I agree with another post regarding the acoustics. They're not good but if you're there just to see the artist up close then maybe you can overlook that. $15 per ticket is a good deal but they make up for it by upcharging significantly for drinks (shocking). Funny a rundown place like this charges the same for a small water bottle ($5 EACH) as you would expect at Chase Center or Oracle Stadium. Do not go see any famous people at this club. We paid for 8 VIP tickets and we weren't let in to the VIP section. Owner and co-owner ignore everyone there and don't even communicate with each other. Securities are contractors and say they have their own rules which makes 0 sense. They didn't want to refund our tickets either and it was just an overall horrible experience. Last night saw band Thompson Square and last month Little Big Town. All for $10 each. Not bad to stand 20 feet from stage. 5 stars for price and very good bands! Great location close to freeway. 5 stars. Tacos located out near patio....5 stars.....I put too much habanero sauce on one of my tacos...mouth went numb but I like it hot:) Ok.....drinks.....hmmmmm.....VERY expensive but I understand that's where the profits are so.....3 stars. If you want to go see a cheap country concert with some of the biggest upcoming stars, this is a great place to do so! I was thrilled to be able to see Ashley McBryde for about $15. She was just about seven feet away from me, so talk about a great deal and an intimate concert! The opening act, Dillon Carmichael, was pretty decent as well. KRTY is able to book some great people here, and I really appreciate it! That being said, here's a couple of things to keep in mind: first, the acoustics aren't great. Don't expect amazing sound quality, but instead just the artist on a guitar, out for a casual fun night. Second, on concert nights the parking lot gets packed, so you might have to park across the street in the big shopping center--however, there's no way you won't be able to find a spot there. Furthermore, the crowd might not be for everyone; it's mostly a bunch of young people yelling and making out on top of you and such, which is obnoxious. Thank goodness the venue is on the bigger side. Lastly, the DJ before the performances was pretty awful...why would you play "Cotton-Eyed Joe" for a crowd who came for authentic country music? Mind-boggling choice. Overall though, if they're playing great stars like Luke Combs and Cody Johnson pretty much right in front of you at a cheap price, who am I to complain? Came here Saturday night when Roberto Tapia came to perform. Admission was crazy..$45 bucks a pop..also parking is a #)$!(!!!. It's worst than going to the city. Try walking 5 blocks in 4 inch heels...we got to this place at 8:45pm and the club was already hella packed, filled beyond the capacity I'm sure. There's two rooms, one for 18 hoodlums and the other for 21+. I'm reviewing the 21+ side. This is basically a room with a stage. They do have some tables with chairs and in order to sit in one you have to buy a bottle, which is $250.00. Are you kidding me? This place is extremely small!! The bathroom has 4 dingy stalls. This place is G H E T T O. I did notice that they serve beer in it's original bottles (glass= trouble) It was hella hot inside,so we stood outside (they have a patio area with 2 bars). When Roberto Tapia got ready to perform (almost at 1am) we went inside. Since it was packed to the gills there's bound to be pushing and shoving so what happens? a huge ass fight breaks out. They turned the lights on and Roberto did 2 more songs and they started letting people out..WTF..it was only 1:30am. Roberto must have done the most 7 songs. Booo! I came here to see Jon Pardi with some friends back in October of this year. While the show was pretty good and tickets sold out, this venue is just okay to me. There is a good sized dance floor and a decent stage, but the arrangement altogether inside could use a little fixing. This place is in no way like the Shark Tank where every seat is a pretty good one. As for the bartenders, drink selections, and anything else... they aren't memorable to me. came here on a Thursday for Country night...Eli Young Band was playing...and suprisingly, had a lot of fun..... thinking I'm so new and just getting into liking Country..... 'Merica...hell yea... This place is one of my favorite spots for a small intimate (country) concert. I have seen some great artists here and I would definitely recommend it to people that don't even like Country. I say this for several reasons: 1. The atmosphere is unlike any other 2. Not all country artists are the same- don't generalize 3. 99% of them are extremely talented on whatever instrument they rock on and you will find yourself with your jaw on the floor just from witnessing it 4. Drinks are not over priced so even if you hate it, you can just drink yourself silly. 5. A great people watching spot- some with no teeth, but most are decent looking and you may even get a guy to tip their hat to ya..little lady...! Just try it and stop acting like you are "better than Country"...cause you ain't...!!! haha :P Step out of your comfort zone and go appreciate some different music. Went for a country concert sponsored by KRTY. I did read some Yelp reviews in advance and I think that actually helped prepare me for the night, as I had low expectations going in and was pleasantly surprised. It's a huge space with lots of different areas to stand, sit, both indoors and outdoors, surrounding a relatively large dance floor and stage. The acoustics aren't the best, but the tickets were cheap, so can't expect much. I'd say the only complaint is the types of people that the venue attracts...definitely present were the drunks without any awareness of personal space, the couple sucking each other's faces off, the dudes surreptitiously snorting coke off their pinkies, and the people gyrating behind you, bumping their big boobs up against your back. Most certainly prefer my country music concerts in the real real, Nashville. read more

At about $15-$20 a pop, you can't go wrong, especially since there is no seating in front of the stage area so you can really get as close as you want to the band. Go ahead, get your groupie on! I've seen Emerson Drive here twice and both times they were freakin' awesome. (I can't resist a hot fiddle player.) Drinks are a tad overpriced here. $5 for Corona? Or is that the going rate and I'm just out of it? Bartenders and servers are not savvy enough to give change back in $1 bills so you can tip them. A lady with ginormous ta-ta's was working one of the two bars. There's a bustling college crowd here, and lots of middle aged women trying to act (and dress) college aged. Not a bad place to people watch. You know Alan Jackson brings out the freak in people! Beware of the closed door policy - there are no in/out privileges here! Once you pay for your ticket and are granted entrance to the club, you cannot leave and think you will still get back in!! Phony advertising will tell you the doors open at 6 for a concert... the concert did not start until 9:00!!! There's nothing else in this place except the dance floor and a few tables/chairs. It can't compete with the Saddle Rack in terms of atmosphere, that's for sure. Restrooms are clean and not scary. Customers and workers all seem friendly. Parking is rather scarce in the lot, but there's okay street parking. ATM is available, but charges a $3.00 fee. read more

You can see the hottest country stars perform for really cheap price. I saw Chris Young and Bomshel for free and Lady Antebellum for only $20! Other artists come and it only cost $10 to see them. Anyway, I've been to The Rodeo Club a couple of times before and thought it's just right to give a review. Their taco stand is the bomb! I guess that's what I liked about the place and the reason I'm giving 3 stars. They also have line dancing lessons which was a cool way of burning the tacos hahaha. Country artists play live on stage and they really have nice acoustics for such a small place. The biggest little bar in San Jose! This mirage located in what was once a desolate dead-zone of San Jose between the Airport and Downtown. The Rodeo Club has capitalized on the new strip mall development across the street by offering kick-ass concerts in conjunction with KRTY for free. I thought I was in Reno the second I walked in and saw the mirrored walls with neon trim and low ceilings. The déjà vu got worse as I was disoriented by the number of location to purchase an adult beverage. 7 BARS! Free line dancing lessons, A free concert, San Jose Country Radio Legends chatting folks up, local country bar regulars (see business pics) and future regulars (see my pics) and decent bar prices - I'm not really sure how this place makes money! The big winners of the evening were Jason Michael Carroll (he got a ton of new fans!) and my group of friends. We all had a blast and we didn't have to eat Ramen noodles for the next week because of the all the money we spent. I'd give this place 6 stars if they had slot machines! read more

Now, I'm a country boy - Dad was a farmer, blah blah blah. Country music is my favorite genre of music and if you have a problem with that; feel free to jump out of a moving vehicle. The second star is only because the Rodeo Club gets concerts handed to them from the local radio station. Truthfully they are lucky they have KRTY to back them up because it is completely unsanitary inside. Personally, I only go when I really, really want to see a concert. Club Rodeo is extremely small for the amount of people who usually go to the concerts. It is separated down the center by a double fence to allow people who are between 18 and 21. They recently expanded the 21 and over side making the 18 and over side too far away from the stage. Previously the artists that performed at the concerts would give a good amount of attention to the younger side; however, when they expanded the other side it made the other side too far away from the stage. read more

I was really excited to go to the Rodeo Club for the first time for a concert on Friday night. The security at the front door was tight - clearly they didn't want people bringing in outside alcohol- the security on the inside was lacking. I saw a group of people get into a fight during the show and there was no security to come help- gave me the impression that they care more about keeping alcohol outside and protecting their sales than protecting their customers. The bar was ok- bartenders were working fast and able to get drinks out efficiently. I only got a beer and the price was ok. The show was fun and it's pretty cool that KRTY can get such awesome artists to come to San Jose. All in all, it was ok for a bar/small concert venue but it was just mediocre. read more

I came here for a KRTY concert and I don't think I'll be back. The place is totally out dated, the decor is non-existent, and the flooring (carpet of all things) is so dirty and disgusting! My shoes were literally sticking to the floor...I had to take my shoes off before walking into my home, yuck! During the concert, you couldn't understand anything the performer was saying, it was totally distorted. The sound system was just OK, they could really stand to pull a little love into this place. How can you complain about a local bar that plays country music and has some AWESOME people play here cheap or free? I have seen Tracy Lawrence and a few other recognizable names here. Last night was Trent Tomlinson. He was good but the opening band needed some work on a few of their cover songs. The drinks have never been weak at the bar inside. All of the bartenders there know how to pour. The guy in the back sometimes mingles with the ladies, I mean crowd, too much and forgets to grab your drink. Usually I see women back here but they might have been off this night. I have never had a bad time here and I love the cowboy watching. I like country music and I like kinda divey country bars(note: The greatest divey country bar in America is the Poodledog Lounge on Burnet Ave. in Austin, TX. See my review for details). I loved this place. The crowd was a real mix. Young, older, everything. I was asked to go by some friends to a KTRY concert (Bucky Covington of Idol fame...he was surprisingly good!). This is a wanna-be country bar, it is a bar that has an identity crisis because two nights a week it is country and two nights it is a latino club. Make up your mind!! We go there ONLY when there is a good country concert happening and it better be a very GOOD artist otherwise no bother! The parking situation is awful, the drinks are weak, the dance floor needs a serious overhaul and the acoustics for concerts are terrible. We always come away from this place saying to ourselves, "yep, this is why the Saddle Rack in Fremont is home"!! The Rodeo Club definitely gets some points for constantly bringing in concerts that people want to see. I have been here to see a lot of shows from Chris Cagle to Thompson Square and I have enjoyed the show every time. Buy your tickets for the concerts here early and you can save about $2-$5 bucks. Early admission tickets generally range from $10 - $12 and the "At the door" tickets hover around $12-$15. In terms of this place as a bar, I have never had to wait too long for the bartender to take / make my drinks. They are generally pretty quick and it does help that they generally have 3 different bars open (1 on the outdoor patio and 2 inside). The line dancing instruction here is a blast as well. We partake in this part of the night every time we come! A few little pet peeves of mine though, first - this place needs to not price their drinks at prices like $6.50 or $5.50 - I personally don't want to accumulate a handful of quarters. It would be much nicer if drink prices here were rounded out to an even dollar amount. Second - cash only? Who does that anymore? I know they have an ATM machine inside the place so you can pull out cash but when it charges $3 to process a transaction, it can get frustrating. Overall, the Rodeo Club though is a great time - I highly recommend any of the concerts they have there....just don't forget to bring cash! read more

Wow, The rodeo Club is an Unsanitary Unruly place even for a Cowboy. I would have rather used a tire outside than the restrooms there. My Girlfrends said that same about the womens Restraunt. The People Eye-ball you unless you are a regular and the Jack Daniels is watered down. The Security gaurds make fun of you in Spanish and there is no management there at all, except an elder lady whom claims to mangage but would not answer my calls or emails either in response to the service. I suggest save your $20 cover charge and go to Saddle Rack in Fremont for more fun, and friendliness. And dont park anywhere near as your car will get Vandalized as mine did. Check the reviews or ask around. This place is bad news all around, Dont get suckered into a free concert from KRTY as if you step outside they will charge you $20 to get back in. Employees and Business is a Joke. Terrible Drinks with even worse Service, Go to Saddle Rack if you want to have way more fun.
