We love the Rio Rancho event center!!! Great venue, free parking, amazing! Great variety of shows! The concession and bars need some improvement but overall we love going here!! CON - hard to get out of after - like all events! Handicap parking! You need more and more clearly marked. The stairway lighting is horrible when they turn the house lights off. Went to see Heart in concert in March 2025, I almost fell down the stairs several times going to use the restroom & there's a step painted BLACK at the bottom and it's DARK on there. No lights at all on the stairs inside the arena. Maybe I should have fallen and sued for $500 million dollars. read more

Here for a throwback concert - been here for some other things. But never for a concert. Nice small venue, so not overly crowded. The usual expensive concessions - so eat before you get here. Easy access and lots of parking. There aren't a lot of seats, so not overly crowded. From my vantage point I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. Acoustics were excellent. Traffic getting out of the lot took time and patience. They need to work on that. read more

Parking is plentiful, and it's way easier to get in/out compared to Isleta. Security personnel are friendly and move the line quickly. It's basically a college basketball gym converted for concerts, but they bring in good performers, and it's great having an intimate show option. Strongly prefer Rio Rancho over Isleta!! read more

The OVO Cirque du Soliel show at Rio Rancho Events Center was amazing! It was lighthearted, fun, mesmerizing...and made me think for a bit that gravity did not exist and that we were all flexible in every way!...but no...once I came back to reality..I realized...gravity did exist..and my body was too old to handle all those bends/moves that Cirque du Soliel performers showed us...which was what made the show so wonderful! I especially liked that the center was small enough that most audiences had pretty good seats. None was ever too far away and any seats could really see the performers pretty well. The Cirque du Soliel performers were light hearted...just wonderful. They even engaged with and responded to audiences, too. I hadn't seen Cirque du Soliel shows for 5+ years..and seeing OVO again made me remember how wonderful performing arts are..and how talented and how much efforts were put into making this wonderful show. I would definitely love to see OVO and any other Cirque du Soleil again. It is also pretty kids friendly as well! read more

What a fun event! Thank you Destiny and Yelp! We had great seats to watch this remarkable show. The venue was great for this performance. The skill of the performers was incredible. I can't imagine how many hours of practice it takes to perfect the artistry and balance required for the acts. And the flexibility of some of the people on stage was unbelievable. Like not humanly possible! There was a little storyline to the show which added another dimension, as opposed to just being a series of acts. There were even some little romantic comedy elements between two bugs which was fun. All in all, a great evening of entertainment. read more

Cirque du Soleil OVO WOW what an experience. I have been to their shows in Vegas and this show is to it's level. I am not sure why I expected less. I guess because it's a traveling show, but let me assure you that you will get the same amazing quality production experience. The acrobatics and performances are beyond impressive and a visual treat! The choreography made the show come alive telling the story with music and impressive gymnastic moves. This last one was for monster truck that we attended and they have security at the front to ensure safety and security inside and also in the stadium to ensure safety. Lots of space indoor. This was my first time here and I would have to say it's a really nice place. It holds about 3k people so there's good views from all the seats. I had great seats so no complaints. Food was expensive like most venues but for $13 the bacon GCCB was great! Everyone working I encountered were friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and leaving was easy. The venue is about 14 miles away from Albuquerque so it's quite a bit out there. I went to see a country concert there and I had a great time. I'll hopefully be back someday for another show. I got so mad at the female security guards that can't even stop a female fight I swear I wanted to go to the supervisor and tell him or her you got some weak female security guards I swear if one of those females would have hit me I would have went after the security guards cuz they didn't do nothing. First time ever being in this place. I remember the many times passing it back in the day commuting to work or school. I always wondered how it was inside. I finally got my opportunity! I was fortunate enough to get tickets to the OVO show by Cirque Du Soleil. I was surprised by the turn out being a school night. The show was fantastic. From the stage dec to the performances. The seats were fairly comfortable. I didn't feel like a sardine smooshed in the crowd. It was nice Overall it's a nice event space and I look forward to return again. read more

What an amazing evening, courtesy of Destiny L. and Cirque du Soleil! I'd never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, and I was delighted to receive excellent tickets from the Yelp Elite Squad. OVO's storyline with the ladybug and the fly (?) didn't do a lot for me, but my goodness, the performances were stunning. Acrobats, trapeze artists, jugglers, silks, pole dancing, gymnasts - you name it, this show had it. I don't think I was ever that flexible! My favorite parts were the couple in white who did beautiful, graceful spins and poses on the air and on the floor using a couple of straps attached to one or both performers' wrists or ankles, closely followed by the trampoline performers. You'll have to see it to believe it! Tickets are pricey, but only half of the events center is used for this show, so really any seat in the house is a good seat. We were blessed to be in section 209, which gave us an excellent view of everything. Go if you can! read more

We saw Cirque du Soleil's OVO. The seats had good stadium height so that the person in front of me did not block me at all. If someone comes by you, it will require you to stand up and let them by as there is little-to-no room to walk by if someone is seated. The event was taking up half the arena with the other half for the company's apparatus. The sound was great! Not too loud or too soft. Temperature in the building was fine. It was sad that I saw some empty seats the show was so wonderful. We went on a Thursday night, which may have been a factor. The line moved fairly quickly to check purses, scan body for metal, and get your ticket read. Parking was easy and free. Because of great view, easy parking and entry, and superb sound especially not killing my ears, I rate this place high. read more

Jaw dropping. Enchanting. Pure magic. That just begins to touch the surface of how amazing Cirque du Soleil's Ovo is. There is so much thought that goes into the production - from the beautiful costumes to the way they tell the story of the "Ovo" and love story between an eccentric fly and a sassy ladybug. The talent on this show is unmatched - there are acrobats, contortionist, trapeze artists, juggling, hand balancing, dancers, and more. The grace and ability of the performers to captivate an audience is amazing. There is live music playing that adds to the excitement of what's happening on stage. My boyfriend and I left the show exploding with rave reviews and a whole lot of "did you see when they did ______????" Truly amazing. read more

I recently attended a concert at this venue. Everything was fine in terms of parking getting in getting out finding a seat everybody was friendly. However, after spending a decent amount of money for a ticket, I expected the sound to be better than it was. In fact, the sound was just bouncing everywhere the acoustics were horrible. It was so bad that I actually left the concert early because I couldn't deal with the horrible bouncing acoustics. read more

We bought tickets when they first came out for $125 a piece because it was advertised as selling out fast. Imagine our dismay that tickets were now selling for $39 each and the area was half empty! $500 vs: $156! Ugh! The Cirque de Sol show was really good with all the acrobatic artists twisting turning and contorting their bodies to the extremes. From the trapeze performers to the trampoline/rock wall bouncing performers. The contortionists were amazing and the guy doing the spool routine tossing them up in the rafters and back. The ribbon performer and pole climbers were fun to watch. The bug costuming for the Ovo theme were amazing. They had lots of fill material that was just fill material and nothing notable. The souvenir shops were pricy as usual, and with kids, they are hard to avoid. It was a fun family Sunday afternoon. read more

My plus one is 5 ft 10 so her knees were almost touching the seat in front of us. Lots of great souvenirs that lit up, giving a festive feeling for the night. The food choices were basic. Nice place! While attending we enjoyed the venue we thought of a ball park in our home state but just smaller. The venue was clean and the employees of the venue were pleasant. The vender layout was nice and enough space to be able to accommodate the crowd for lines. The seating was slightly cramped and felt slightly rickety. The people who were seated next to us advised they had a seat missing from the row as the seat numbers were written in chalk. Their ticket said seat 19 to which there was not that seat. When they came back they advised the seats had to be reassigned due to the clerical issue. The parking was a little funky with one way in/out, which left the mass exodus at the end of the event to be desired. Overall, nice for the location and community. read more

Terrible venue for concerts. If I'm paying for an expensive ticket I expect to sit in chairs that aren't glued together. It was so hard to even get to the actual seats we were in cuz they were so piled on top of each other. My friend even tripped over the chairs because it was such a tight squeeze. Went to see Disney on Ice, Great view no matter what seat you have, however they didn't allow people in until the show start time which makes no sense had to stand in a huge line and miss part of the show and the workers are extremely rude and they are not all on the same page. One says we can bring in plastic water bottles but when you go through security we had to throw it away. Mobile tickets wouldn't scan had to go to customer service and was told I couldn't bring my whole party with me. I've attended a few events here. Parking is easy. Traffic leaving a crowded event from this establishment isn't terrible either. There are also plenty of bathrooms inside. Pro Tip: Lines are shorter at the ones not located at the front entrance. The downside, this event center is located in the middle of no where. So it's a drive for virtually everyone. The more expensive seats (with cushions) offer less legroom than the cheaper seats without padding. Also, no big purses are allowed so leave them in the car to save yourself an extra trip. read more

The $17 margaritas had little or no alcohol in them. The place needs more toilet capacity as well. Seats are too close together. But otherwise it was a good place for a concert in terms of sound and lighting. And entering and leaving the carpark were astoundingly quick and easy. read more

Went here for a concert. I was trying to get information online since I was coming from another state for this and there wasn't much. If you need to stop and grab food, gas, change (as in our case) there was nothing for almost 10-15 minutes in that area. It's waaaay out there. Parking is free. The venture itself was nice, lots of bathrooms and stalls. Food lines were particular slow as the one concession stand we visited only had one register working so four of the other staff members just stood around waiting for the order. We paid $46.00 for two tall can of beers and nachos grande (the works lettuce,tomato, green chile, guacamole,) that was way too much and messy for a concert. Water we purchased later was $7. For a concert seating, fair warning! We were sitting second row from the stage right at the end with seats 1 & 2. That didn't matter at all because anyone on the floor section were able to come up to that row. They crowded the side isles the entire show and the security did nothing. Not sure why I paid that price if that's going to happen. Lines to get in the venue weren't too bad and it was a sold out show. We arrived an hour before the show so good parking was available. read more

Went to see Nate Bargatze at the Center. Nate and the other comedians were great and the place itself is fine. The problem is access to the center. One lane of traffic backed up for a mile to get there. Over an hour in the parking lot after the event just trying to get out. No police or others directing traffic. Would never go back until they address traffic congestion. read more

Saw James Taylor. Had to leave before second set due to heat. Something wrong with AC. Sound system good. Organization of entry somewhat chaotic. Had to toss an umbrella since there was no notice about banned items until you got to the door. Their web site does not have a functioning page about the facilities. read more

This is by far the worst venue in the ABQ area. Even Tingley coliseum is better! Went to see James Taylor and he was great. I am surprised that he stayed though. The drive into the arena was slow and unorganized. I took almost an hour to travel 1 mile, then it was a free for all for parking spaces. One entrance side was open and people sweltered in line to have a cursory search and ticket scan. The lines for food and drink were slow and long. The Air Conditioning was not work(?). Who let that happen and doesn't get an emergency repair right away??? The fans were hot and sweaty, as were the band and performers. Fortunately, JT was gracious and kind to the fans. Rio Rancho needs to get their arena together to be a contender for major events. NEVER GOING BACK ! read more
