There is also a complete metal shop, welding area, 3d printing area, laser cutting with both an 80 and 135 watt cutter and 2 large format printers and a vinyl cutter. They also have an electronics lab, fabric arts room, stain glass and 4 station screen printer. With a large membership there are always people who are willing to help you learn and make. They are an all volunteer 501c(3) organization that has remained open to its members 24/7 despite the pandemic. Even through the pandemic they have continued to welcome new members and bring them in to a friendly, welcoming community. They are open to tours by appointment through info@quelab.net.

This is the absolute WORST facility in town to rent for an event. We had the misfortune of hosting…read moreour wedding reception here and I wish I could go back in time and go somewhere else. The managers are thieves, negligent and and racist. Anthony Roybal met with me a couple weeks before to go over the details of renting and he hand wrote a "contract" on scratch paper and took my deposit in cash only. He informed us that the biggest rule was we could not have outside drinks in the venue for the night of the reception and I agreed to abide. During the rehearsal dinner someone had purchased a small case of bottled water for the bridal party and shortly after our rehearsal began I got a call from Anthony. Before I could even answer the phone he was screaming and cursing at me about the water. He said that he would come down the bar and personally "kick every single ass out of there" and he didn't give a "fuck" that it was the night before our wedding. He made me cry and berated me for almost 20 minutes the night before my own wedding. During the reception he was over serving alcohol, did not even know drink ingredients, and served to a minor. I do not believe he is a licensed bartender and should not be allowed to serve any event. We had an African American friend walk into the bar with my groom and as they entered Anthony proclaimed "sorry we don't serve bananas in here." My husband said he was in absolute disbelief that he would actually say something like that. He was incredibly rude to my brother who ordered and liquid marijuana and Anthony asked what was in it and when my brother said "you're the bartender, shouldn't you know?" Anthony replied "you should fucking know what you're drinking" At the end of the reception he stole $150 from my mom. Our contract stated we owed $400 for the rental fee and he charged her $450 and then proceeded to tell her that there was a $100 bar fee that he could only accept in cash. This was never mentioned or written in our contract. When asked to return the money he said he didn't have it and I'm guessing that's why he wanted cash only. When I reached out to the other managers Adam and Miguel I was met with "deal with your issues with Anthony" and then ignored. I never got my $150 back that was stolen from my mom and we were never even given an apology for the absolutely horrible service to me as the bride and to my guests and family. NEVER EVER HOST AN EVENT HERE

They accept donations of gently used clothes/jackets, and new socks/underwear. Whenever I go through my closet for items I don't need anymore, I make sure to donate here. They partner with any of the Star Bright Cleaners here in town, so you can drop off your stuff at the cleaners, and they'll make sure everything is taken care of to pass on to Locker 505.

The property is true country livin' and from what I understand, that's exactly what this nonprofit that assists folks with developmental disabilities -- chiefly, those on the autism spectrum -- is going for. What an incredible organization. And when you think about it, of course, simplifying is the solution. Individuals on the spectrum tend, generally, to really struggle with the peripheral, what's going on around them, ambient noise and motion and shadow, and the urban everyday is absolutely clattering with these distractions. Mandy's Farm provides a permanent residence -- it's a home, first and foremost -- for people who need to take shelter from the storm. Residents learn to simply live, whether that's cooking or growing food or riding horses, the main facility includes a specially designed swimming pool for rehabilitation, the farm provides tactile experiences and interactions with nature. How friggin' genius, man. Essentially, the story goes that the farm was named after Mandy, her parents were concerned about what Mandy would do as she matured and they got older, if she might struggle to handle the busy world around her, and so they built this farm, and Mandy started her own little business, E is for Eggs (she loves Sesame Street), and the farm has grown to support many people, a job training program, and produce they sell to local growers markets.
