I was torn between giving three or four stars. Our service was the perfect blend of attentive without being overbearing. I've been in this store several times and that has always been the case. They have a good selection but not a great selection and come here if you are willing to pay full price. The three star rating is because I found the exact same countertop I looked at here for literally half the price somewhere else. Really don't care to know what they offer that the other place doesn't--it was the same and I would have been highly upset if I purchased from here, only to find out how much less I could have spent. Other than that, their space is clean and very well organized, so if that's a priority, and you prefer an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere over more fair prices, you should have a good experience here. read more

I was referred to Rio by another vendor because I needed some marble slabs and quartzite slabs. After visiting few other stores, I was either priced out or they didn't have the selection I was looking for. When I came to Rio, the lady who helped me was super patient and gave me some great design ideas. I also felt that she was super honest and patient with me. I also found their prices very fair and they worked with me to really get what I wanted and not to settle. I've been meaning to write this review but honestly I just get upset thinking about it... we purchased countertops for our kitchen remodel from rio and really after doing so much research and speaking to Syed Husain at Rio Stone we came to the decision of purchasing "Ijen Blue quartzite". He told us it was one of the strongest stones out there and durable. We ordered three slabs which ran us nearly $9,000.00. But we we're determined this was our dream kitchen and we we're going to put high quality products in the remodel. We finally finished the kitchen in April 2023 but not two to three weeks into our new remodel we have 4 chips on the edge of the quartzite. Two by the sink and two by the island. 1- First chip, I was washing dishes and a glass was at the edge of the sink and it fell into the sink the bottom part of the glass as it feel hit the edge of the sink and quartzite chipped. Glass did not break, chip or cracked! 2- Second chip, I went to put a glass in the sink, I hit the edge of the quartzite and quartzite chipped. Glass did not break, chip or cracked! 3- Third chip, I had a glass container in my hand and I lost grip of it and hit the edge of the island and quartzite chipped...again nothing happened to glass. 4- Fourth Chip, Not sure how that one happened. That was only two to three weeks into using the kitchen. My husband and I stress now cooking in our beautiful kitchen wondering when will another chip happen. We cook a lot and entertain. A kitchen is considered the heart of the home but instead it stresses us out. I did call and sent pictures to Rio and they said that they've not had any other complaints of "Ijen Blue quartzite". I feel so misled... and disappointed Also we are empty nesters so it's only the two of us using the kitchen. I'd hate to see how the quartzite would look or handle a family with kids. read more

Five stars for Jimmy who has tirelessly been assisting me the entire month of February in my search for a kitchen countertop. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and kind. After multiple visits (at least seven) to Rio, as I wavered from one stone to another, I finally made my purchase of granite (Giallo Ornamental) this week. Jimmy was kind and patient with every visit, and generous with his knowledge about the different options, both natural and man-made. With his help, I was able to make an informed decision that I am satisfied with for this particular renovation (apartment rental). This was my 2nd purchase, the first being in 2022 for a gorgeous slab of quartzite (Kalahari). I will be back again for my own home and also my mother's when the time comes. Rio is my go-to stone yard. I'm fairly easy to please as I am what folks would describe as easygoing. Nevertheless, it's hard for me to find good customer service, especially as a Black man in the US. I went to a very popular place in Anaheim as I was recommended to go there and was treated very poorly. Discouraged by that encounter, I decided to search LA county for stone countertops and stumbled onto Rio Stones. For a place with cold stone slabs, it was very warm and welcoming. Upon walking through the door, I was immediately greeted by Syed Husain and treated with respect and dignity. The showroom was immaculate and was set up to allow customers to make a well-informed decision on a substantial purchase. Syed allowed my wife and me to ask as many questions as we needed to decide on the countertops we needed for our kitchen remodel. We pulled the trigger just a few moments ago on two beautiful quartz slabs and can't wait for them to be installed. Not one had a stone that we liked nor any real customer service. On the way to another store for and a different product and stopped in to Rio... what a blessing! Syed helped us and gave a lot of good information. He didn't have what we wanted initially. After some time I called him back and he was able to FIND what we needed... then, of course, the measurements weren't quite right and we needed more stone. Again, Syed came to the rescue. I can't say enough about the professionalism and customer service experienced. Sadly, a major kitchen renovation is a one, maybe twice in a lifetime event. I contacted Rio Stones to purchase a quartz countertop for our master bath vanity. Syed was extremely helpful and immediately sent photos of material he had in stock including sizes and pricing. Since the bath vanity was larger than the standard size, the countertop had to be a jumbo slab which is harder to source. Syed helped us find the exact size that we needed at an excellent price. Syed is very responsive and has gone out of his way to ensure that we found the countertop we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable about the various materials and presented the hold/ deposit options to secure my slabs. The installer had a hiccup with the install and ended up breaking one and Carlos was right there to help my installer correct the problem with creative solutions since the slab was sold out. I would love to give this place 5 Stars for their products, but since I was paid for 3 jumbo Silestone slabs, and was shorted/ delivered only standard sized, I can't. Client wasn't happy either since she had to change her plans. Service gets 1 Star, so 3 Stars = average. 3 isn't good enough for high end work. Maybe if Marvin issues the credit he kept promising, I'll bump it up 1. Till then, I'll Have to recommend going elsewhere. read more

Went in a number of times to view selection and received wonderful service. The rep was always present to answer questions. Finally made a decision based off a quartzite slab they had in the showroom. I needed 2 slabs and was told the one's in their Vegas location were from the same lot. Proceeded with purchase and when signing, there's a section stating how there are no returns. I asked to see pictures of the slabs and the rep couldn't pull them up. I explained how I wanted to see the slabs prior taking possession and was told they would be there in a couple of days (since they were coming from Vegas). I stopped in 2 times and was told they're in the Carson location, but would be available in a day or two. My fabricator contacted me and informed me that arrangements had been made to deliver the slabs to his shop (and I still had not seen them). I contacted the rep and he told me the slabs are fine, explained how I can view them at the fabricators and to contact them if there were any issues. I go to view the slabs and they're definitely different from what I picked out (not to my liking). I stopped back into Rio and the rep was somewhat dismissive and asked me about what I wanted to do (i.e. exchange the slab in the showroom for one of the one's they delivered). My fabricator brought both slabs to the showroom, where I ended up choosing the one from the showroom and one they sent. Not my ideal choice, but didn't have many options. I definitely give a 5 stars on the front end prior to making the sale, incredibly friendly and helpful. Once I made the purchase, the rep wasn't very responsive and somewhat dismissive. While I appreciate how they delivered the slabs and allowed my fabricator to bring them back for me to review, my overall satisfaction with the experience would not have been as disappointing if I would have been able to see the slabs up front (most likely would not have bought them). read more

Went by the old location today, found out they moved. While I was there a guy gave me a card to the new address. Went by new address walked in the showroom, there was this mexican woman with tattoos there she asked what I needed told her wanted something affordable for My condo I want to sell she pointed to some slabs outside in the parking lot. I went outside saw a few I liked went back inside told her what I wanted to see she said they don't move slabs after 4:30pm but then saw some guys in the parking lot she said go ask them to move them for you, it should Of went as hold on let me go get them to move them for you. Then they asked if I had a fabricator I said no but do you know anyone they said they don't refer anyone, why bother even asking then? Went back inside told her what I liked and give me some prices she gave me price on one then told me to write it down myself! She should of typed it out on company letter head and given the price that way. I ended up walking out due to the fact they weren't to Enthusiasticabout helping me. I'll keep looking maybe I'll be back to talk to someone else once I find a fabricator but overall they need to work on their customer service skills! read more

After finding the granite I had been searching for, I ended up finding a second choice I had not seen anywhere else that I liked even better. I purchased it, only to find out that my contractor's fabricator said it was a particularly difficult stone to cut well and would triple the fabrication costs! Luckily, I knew that Rio Stones still offered my original choice, and I went back to them to discuss the dilemma. Carlos effortlessly made the switch for me, and I couldn't be happier! My contractor strongly recommended Marvin at Rio Stones. My parents and I were both impressed having gone different times. I was thrilled with the amount of slabs (I was looking for ocean/ blue.) Approximately a week latter I called up and purchased 3 slabs, for my kitchen and bar. I decided to buy 3 instead of the "2, maybe 3" I heard second hand from my contractor was the fabricators recommendation. Marvin and I discussed my tastes, needs for the kitchen, bathrooms, and fireplace, budget, vision for the kitchen (waterfall, and complete back splash), the condo etc. I showed him the space and my contractors rough measurements to figure out what I would need. I found blue ones I loved, more than I wanted to spend, but I loved them. Low pressure sales: I got a quote, he emailed me a picture of the slabs I had on hold. Called and bought them a within a week latter, from another gentleman who was also 100% amazing and professional (I am sorry I forgot his name.) He helped me find my slabs on hold and completed the sale for me over the phone. Knowledge: he knows his products and was able to help me narrow down and fine tune my search to be very efficient. Also add in put regarding the different stones pros/cons, best uses, and sealing/protection ideas. Professionalism: I can't get over how some of these places are so sleazy, or dismiss me when I have gone in to shop. None of that at Rio Stone, everyone there I found to be nice, knowledgeable, and focused on good customer service. The past 5+ months I wish I purchased: a 4th blue slab to ensure enough for my fireplace and/or one white slab that I held. The white was a very good price due to some damage and would have been perfect for my master bathroom vanity and fireplace. If I would have purchased the white one, I would not have written this review! I have gone to multiple locations around the South Bay/ Los Angeles and Santa Ana/ Orange County. I can honestly say Marvin and his team at Rio Stone are the best, I plan to find time to take off work, return to Rio Stone to find my final slab. Leading me to the worst part of Rio Stone; their hours are difficult to make when working. Granted most places have restricted hours too. Hopefully, its as great as my first visit. read more

Initially my contractor suggested Rio Stones to look at material for my countertops. Rio was my 5th stone yard I had visited in my quest for material for countertops. At Rio, I had found the material I had envisioned and paid for 2 slabs, knowing that it would be 3 weeks due to being out of stock in the local distribution center for the brand. At 2 1/2 weeks, I emailed my sales person to check on the status of my order. The response, in email, was "call me, I need to speak with you" So, I called. I was then told that I would have had to pay an additional $800 for the paid in full purchase I made a few weeks prior. I was in sticker shock!!!! I returned the next day to Rio Stone to meet with the Salesperson who sold me my slabs. The salesperson was with another customer for 20 minutes. At 10 minutes to closing, I am told by the salesperson "You need to hurry" I had then asked the person to explain again the reason for the upcharge in my slabs. I never received a response. ( I asked another 2 times, again with no response) It was at this point that a) not having my question answered and b)being told I have top pay more for an item I had already paid in full and then c) being told to "Hurry up" pushed me beyond any patience I had remaining. I canceled my order. I expected a refund right there and was told I had to wait until the Monday. When I went to pick up my refund, the check wasn't even written. Looking into the issue, I found the salesperson didn't order my material until I had sent the email. Then to be told the upcharge was for the "port delivery issues" (when the material is in Minnesota) was another dishonest piece. I was even told that I was to have them ship it to my contractor and was automatically charged for this, even though my contractor was going to pick it up. I was even taxed on delivery/shipping charges!!! I would NOT recommend this vendor as the dishonest practices were way beyond normal business and customer service practices. read more

We are doing a total kitchen renovation for our condo in MDR. Needless to say, we have visited so many stores and looked at so many brands BUT not a single one offered the same professionalism and assistance as Roger Zamignani at Rio Stones.
