My husband and I were personally customers of Simply Tiles back in 2009 when we were remodeling one of our bathrooms in our house in Rolling Hills Estates. They did a great job with the marble on the counter and in the bath/shower area and even widened the door area as my mother was coming to live with us and we needed a wider opening for her to get through with a wheelchair. Carlos and his designer were knowledgeable, dependable, creative and did an outstanding job. Since then we sold our home and are now in a townhome in Redondo Beach. Being on the HOA Board we called Carlos at Simply Tiles and they did an amazing job on two balconies that needed repair at the complex and also new tile was needed on them. Again, had a very positive experience and outcome with Simply Tiles. The staff was always on top of everything that was needed, and always there to answer questions. I 100% CAN NOT recommend Simply tiles. We had them install our bathroom several years ago. The shower wall tiles started to crack and now I found that the toilet had been improperly installed and has been leaking sewer liquid under the floor for years. I now have to 100% remodel the entire bathroom that was just remodeled 5 years ago. This involves the poor craftsmanship of the installation. Prior to COVID Carlos had agreed to fix the tiles, then COVID hit and everything stopped. Now Carlos doesn't remember our agreement and says he only provides a 1 year warranty anyway. Lesson learned, always keep EVERYTHING in writing since Carlos does not honor his word. We trusted Simply Tiles to redo our bathroom and paid them handsomely for it, now every bit they touched has broken 5 years later. I would STRONGLY advise looking for another vendor. Don't be deceived by the smallish appearance of this business as you drive by on PCH (between Anza & Hawthorne). From the front it looks like a cute little house, but when you enter through the Dutch doors complete with bell, you will step into a beautiful showroom that extends way back. I was pleasantly amazed. I saw tiles galore, including the colorful patterned variety that you see in vintage Spanish homes. Simply Tiles is really not just simply tiles, however - they carry real wood flooring, too, as well as sink fixtures, and more. I was on a quest for slate, for a floor in a room with yellow walls. Yellow slate is rare, but that's what I had in mind. The staff was SO helpful & very patient as I went through their paint samples trying to remember my exact wall color. (Yeah I was unprepared.....) Finally, I took a light-toned yellow-y slate sample to the property. it looked perfect in the room. My contractor is thrilled to know that the slate he will be installing is high-quality (gauged). I coulda found cheaper slate (and I did), but this stuff is tricky in the sense that you never know what you'll get if you're pinching pennies. Slate can vary significantly in color, thickness, size.....and I actually had a bargain sample from a different store fall apart in my hands. My order will arrive in a week or so, at which time we will open a bundle at the store so I can approve it before my guys come to take it away. No, no, and no. I stopped in at Simply Tiles on PCH in Torrance because I needed to inquire about some tile repairs in my kitchen and entry. I shared a photo, which I also E-mailed. The woman who waited on me couldn't answer my question, so she told me to call back later that day. I called back, and the person on the phone said, "We don't do repairs". Pretty much end of story...sort of. So I contacted another tile store in Lomita, who instantly referred me to a 'tile guy', who for the purposes of this review will remain nameless. He came to my home the next day, and upon his review of the situation and in a very professional way, recommended that I replace all the tile in the kitchen and entry....a project that amounted to nearly $7,000, with which I'm thrilled. Loved it! First class service and quality in every way. I needed a big piece of granite for a kitchen counter top (76" x 33") to match my existing kitchen. I called Simply Tiles. They found a perfect matching piece with an unbelievable low price. Daniel and his co-worker installed the granite top just a few days after I signed the contract. They are very knowledgeable, professional and detail oriented. They protected everything before starting the installation and cleaned up the kitchen floor they covered before they leave. I should have read the reviews before going into this place. Very unhelpful and unmotivated staff. When we were FINALLY greeted upon walking into this empty establishment, the woman did not know what a "hexagon" was. I finally found some and showed her and she still had no idea where to locate hexagon tile. She goes away and a male staff member is at the desk doing nothing but twiddling his thumbs. I approached him but he was clueless and seemed bothered by me interrupting his thumb-twiddling session, before quickly concluding that they don't have the tile I'm looking for. So much more than tile!!! I came here looking for quartz for my kitchen counters. I also found the most beautiful hardwood floors and the perfect mosaic tile for our backsplash. Their prices are very reasonable too! They have a beautiful selection of tile, marble, quartz, hardwood etc and they even do cabinets. I wish I would have known that before we chose our kitchen cabinets...will be looking at them to do our bathroom cabinets soon! Everyone has been super helpful and great to work with. They have been to my house several times, taking measurements, etc and have always come on time and answered all my questions. They clean up when they are finished and Daniel (who is installing the countertops) has gone above and beyond to make sure the job is done right. Carlos and his entire team took a 1950's house with a badly designed addition and turned it into a 21st century home. Taty is a very talented designer. She designed a kitchen that incorporated all elements that are necessary for a well-functioning kitchen. The design of the kitchen is a joy to work in on a daily basis. Hector and his team built and installed the custom cabinets. Their high-quality craftsmanship is beyond compare. They were able to install cabinets and molding in a kitchen with crooked walls and unusual dimensions. The final result are beautiful cabinets that will stand the test of time. Carlos' crew that installed the countertops and tile were exceptionally skilled and experienced at their craft. Giovanni and his team delivered high quality work which included painting, repairing walls, baseboards, molding that was an essential element to updating our home. Simply Tiles recently completed several tile projects at my home and they did a thoroughly amazing job! The projects included: demolishing the existing hardwood floors and installing new mission style terra cotta tile floors in the living room, dining room, and foyer; removing the carpet on the interior staircase and installing red oak treads and decorative tiles on the risers; tiling over the brick fireplace in the living room with decorative tiles; and plastering the adobe style fireplace in the master bedroom from floor to ceiling with a smooth surface and installing decorative tiles around the opening of the fireplace. I was very worried about how the work would turn out but in the end, I could not be happier with the results - they exceeded my expectations! The cost for their work was reasonable. I had obtained estimates from several tile contractors for the work and while Simply Tiles was not the cheapest, their price was very close to the less expensive contractors who did not have as good credentials or as much experience as Simply Tiles. Simply Tiles was also the only tile contractor who came highly recommended to me by friends who used Simply Tiles to tile their bathrooms and kitchens. Simply Tiles is run by Carlos Audero, a licensed, bonded and insured tile contractor with the California Contractors State License Board, with many years of experience in the business. Carlos supervised all of the work himself along with his foreman Daniel. The laborers who cut and installed the tiles were all very experienced and competent and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. They were also all very professional, polite and courteous and always cleaned up well after each project. Carlos and his wife, Marisa, are wonderful people with whom to work. They immediately responded to all of my questions and concerns. They instantly addressed and resolved the few issues I had to my complete satisfaction. I purchased tile from here & when it arrived it was a completely different color. I understand natural stone has variations but this was a totally different color. They would not accept a return - & I even asked for just 1/2 my money back & they still said no. They said the sample boards are old so it may not be the same color when it arrives... If I could give these people a 0 I would, and I advise 100% to stay far away from this company. We worked for almost 2 1/2 months with David and Carlos on layouts, and pricing and installation. They were aware up front of the size of our project and an overall budget we wanted to stick to. AT NO TIME did they inform us that they only work with customers with a certain price point. And I say this because this greedy company decided we were not paying them enough for this job to be worth their time. Oh, and let me mention, we had already PAID THEM to start the job. So... this company wastes my time meanwhile we have no kitchen, we decide to go with them after weeks and weeks of trying to get a price, spent multiple days of having to schedule to LEAVE WORK EARLY to talk to these people, PAY THEM our deposit, get no contact, and when I try to follow up I get told that (from Carlos) "fiscally this job is the least profitable of all our current projects." Oh, I'm sorry we did not buy a $2 million mansion for you to design an overwhelming, extremely expensive kitchen for. How complete UNPROFESSIONAL. Now my husband and I are back to square 1, been living without a kitchen for months, and completely APPALLED that a business actually validated cancelling a job after accepting it because it was NOT ENOUGH MONEY. Should've thought of that TWO MONTHS AGO!!! Even after being told they wanted to cancel, my sweet husband called back to try to renegotiate with them because we have INVESTED SO MUCH TIME into this HORRIBLE COMPANY already. And what kind of response do we get? Another week of dodged phone calls, excuses of not being able to talk, and after all is said and done, another flat NO. How dare this company not be upfront if they did not feel we were WORTH THEIR TIME. What about our time? what about all we already INVESTED into working with them? What about normal BUSINESS ETIQUETTE to be upfront with how you choose to do business? What about not KICKING PAYING CUSTOMERS to the curb? Do yourself a favor, don't bother, don't walk in, don't even try. If they can drag us out, tell us they will do the job, ACCEPT our down payment, and then CANCEL, what makes you think it won't happen to you? Oh, unless you WANT to pay them extras of thousands of dollars for no reason just to make you WORTH THEIR TIME. I was looking for about 562sq ft of tile. I was referred to this place. What a mistake. Upon entry, there are two women at their desks too busy to look up and greet you. Without any salutation, directions, or effort on their part I managed to locate what I wanted with the assistance of Vincent. He was wonderful, and even looked up the price for us. He let us have a sample for two days. Upon my return, still no greeting, and the ladies behind their desks could not be bothered with assisting me with my order or any information about ordering said tile. Obviously they do not need your business. I ventured to another tile store, and got treated like a human, and gave them my $8,000.00. Do the same!! read more

This place is great. I feel bad for whoever may have had a bad experience here. I remodeled an entire home with tile purchased from this store and had a wonderful experience. Ask for Jahaira. She is great. I totally agree about not being fooled by the small appearance from the outside. They carry whatever you are looking for, have an endless showroom, including an outdoor yard and garage, and tons of stuff in drawers and catalogs in addition to tons on display. Pros: Nice showroom Cons: Employees If you're going through a remodel and you're looking for a local place to see options you might stop by here, but save yourself the hassle of trying to order something. They will get every aspect of the order wrong and give you contradictory information. Angie will tell you over and over again how she goes out of her way for customers but can't really perform the basics of her job. The other two can't even get style numbers or phone numbers correct, even if you write it down for them. Its a shame since most people would want to support local businesses but not when the business is not supporting them. Save yourself some hassle and go to one of the places in Gardena or Anaheim. You'll save some money too. Maybe they should be called simpleton tile. read more

I'm giving Simply Tiles 5 stars. I am extremely happy and impressed with their quality and service. I recently remodeled two bathrooms including a master bath. Their selection of tiles of great! They are extremely responsive, patient and understanding of all your tile, countertop and stone needs. They can do it all from recommending the right tile for your application, designing, helping you select the perfect tile orientation, and also installation. And, all at competitive prices. Jahaira was fantastic. She is so knowledgeable and experienced and also provides fantastic customer service. Other retailers can lessons from her customer relationship acumen. She knows it all .. so make sure you ask for Jahaira when you go to Simply Tiles. It's sometimes hard to find suppliers you can trust but Simply Tiles and Jahaira are at the top of my list of merchants you can trust. Simply Tiles did a beautiful job tiling the floors in our kitchen and service porch. We picked a beige, marble look, matte porcelain tile and it looks great - actually like travertine. The crew was professional, experienced, on time every day and did a perfect job. The finish carpentry of the baseboards and molding was superb. The owner, Carlos, came by the house several times to check on the job and make sure we were happy. They suggested a 1/3 offset layout pattern that we couldn't be happier about. They also install crown molding, paint and more. We will be using them again in the future, I'm sure. read more

We did not hesitate to ask Simply Tile to do our bathroom and office remodeling for us, since we had used them over the years at our former home in Palos Verdes. Their workmen are masters of demolition, tiling and stone work, plumbing, electrical, and cabinetry. The owner is a perfectionist and makes sure to double-check every aspect of the project. When there was a misunderstanding about the dimensions of one part of the job he immediately remedied it and had it done over. We would suggest that every detail of your job be double checked before you start, and checked again as you continue through your project, because two way communication is extremely important during any job. It is the responsibility of the property owner to make sure your contractor understands and includes all details of what you want as the finished result. We are grateful to Simply Tile for trying their best to get us finished in a very short time frame. I called about a job ... never received a call back even after being told by two different associates on two separate occasions that Carlos (owner or supervisor??) would be contacting me later on. I never heard back from him or anyone, so I called back and got the same line (he'll call you back....). Based on the very poor customer service I experienced with no follow-up (even to say thanks, but no thanks), I will NEVER do business with this company. No business should be that "busy" or "big" as to be that small. read more

A year and a half ago one of the bathroom water pipes in our 40 year-old condo sprang a slow leak. we were unaware of this until the ceiling of the unit below us began to crumble and fall off. We decided to gut our master bathroom down to the studs and joists and to replace the floor, ceiling, lighting and all the old water supply and drainage pipes. Lucky for us Simply Tiles submitted the lowest and most comprehensive bid to do the rebuild. Their expert design staff came up with several pleasing and innovative concepts and helped us choose the tiles and other materials, including hardware, plumbing, lighting, toilet, bathtub, etc. Carlos and Daniel were on top of the job from the get-go and stuck to the schedule. Once they started they made sure the construction progressed continuously until the job was completed. This company and their employees were very easy to work with and their communication skills are excellent. We are very happy with our beautiful new master bath and with the way the project was constructed. About a month ago I noticed that some of the grout where the new tile joins the new tub was starting to crack. I contacted Carlos and showed him photos of the problem. Without hesitation, he had a service man remove all of the grout around the top of the tub and replace it with a more flexible material - all at no cost. Simply Tiles has proven to me that they have very good design and construction skills. They take pride in their work and stand behind their product. read more

We were looking for tiles for our bathroom and had been to the Cal Tile store where they had very limited selection of Polished Porcelain tiles which we had in mind for our bath. We were headed to Lowes/Home Depot but then suddenly decided to checkout the Simply Tiles stores and were pleasantly surprised by the selection they carried . The lady Joanna, who was assisting us was very knowledgeable and patient and she clearly understood what color and type we were looking for and showed us exactly what we wanted. We were a little uncertain about the quantity we needed for the liners , bullnoses and the accent tiles and she helped us come up with the measurements . The entire process of selecting all the tile required for the work took us 3 hours , but she was very patient and did not rush us through. The pricing is very reasonable, a little higher than what you will find at State College Blvd and they do not have a return policy , that is the only reason I am taking off one star.
