He listened to my concerns about my problematic experience and assured me that he would handle the situation. He then focused on moving forward with my project. He was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping me find the right materials for my kitchen renovation. He listened carefully to what I was looking for in both a quartz countertop and backsplash tile, showed me a number of appropriate options, and guided me in directions that were actually helpful rather than overwhelming. By the end of my visit, I had made my selections and felt very good about them. Joseph's customer service was excellent, and I especially appreciated the way he handled my concerns regarding my previous visit. Small shop on the corner of Anza and 190th in a vacated BoA. The vault and ATM are still in place! Anyways, they have tiles galore in every style, color, and material. You're bound to find something that you like. Just have to sort through thousands of tiles that are not really organized. The tiles are also very pricy compared to big box stores. Oftentimes you can find the equivalent tile for half the price. Nevertheless, we purchased tiles for our bathroom here but bought our shower pan and edging elsewhere. Luckily, the tiles were in stock, so I was able to pick up at the Hawthorne warehouse location on 147th and Inglewood the same day. I went inside looking for large tiles, and once in there, your brain starts working on all the projects you can do !! I asked for pricing on a few of them and the lady said she'll prepare a quote for me. She sat down and started talking to her coworker while I waited. I noticed it was taking longer than expected since she was taking phone calls and all, so I started looking around the store, to give her time to get ready (here I am all considerate). I come back to the desk and she's still not working on my quote but doing other stuff. So when she sees me she tells me to give her a minute, so I continue looking around. 2 minutes later, a family comes in, and to my surprise, they get helped right away... I come by the lady's desk and she tells me to give her my email so she can send a quote later because now she's busy... I wasted like 40 minutes waiting for her... About two months ago I was starting a project to retile an entryway and a fireplace and was referred to Cal Tile Center. I came in and met Randa Hardy who immediately put everything else aside to help me select the right tiles, edge trim and grout for my project. She was very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a great sense of design and what I was hoping to achieve. I ended up placing an order and then began contacting various contractors that she recommended. Once I had a contractor and started the work, she continued to stay in touch to see how everything was going. This was so important as I soon discovered that we were short on tile so needed to put in a rush order which she was able to fulfill quickly and in time to complete the work. Randa always got back to me even when she wasn't immediately available and was always professional and customer oriented. Cal Tile has an incredible selection of quality product that you just can't find at any of the big chain home improvement stores. Plus their service and expert knowledge are invaluable. She was SO nice and helpful spending about thirty minutes on phone and texting with me, but my wife (The Decider) wasn't home then. No problem - she said to call her when my wife got home so the three of us could go over how to make the right decision. I explained that would be after they closed. Again, no problem. Went here for an entire home remodel and spoke with Ceci and asked for help finding a particular tile. First she tried to tell us that porcelain tile was terrazzo in a blatant attempt to rip us off. Uh, no. Then we ordered a sample and was told it would be in store with several days. Several days passed and no call from Ceci or anyone at Cal-Tile, and we had to call three times to speak to Ceci as she didn't return any of our calls. We finally speak and she tells us she'd send a photo of the sample as we live 30 minutes away from the store. She never sent anything. Clearly Cal-Tile doesn't want our business so we went down to Anaheim and spent $8,000 elsewhere because these people are flaky, rude and unresponsive. read more
