The site rv park is nice, it's clean and a short walking distance up the hill to fish from the road not able to see much from the site. It is not family (children) friendly. Your basically not able to be on the grass, no tables on the grass no tiki lamps, if your dog happens to poop when their hooked outside and you haven't seen it yet they will pick it up and say you can't let them poop on the grass it's $25 dollars to pick it up, we had just hooked our dog back up on the back the truck so he could be close to his kennel and were staying to get breakfast ready we didn't see any poop at all or we would have picked it up. They drove by us over 20 time within 3 hours and just made us feel not welcome like we didn't belong there. There is only a dirt fenced area for dogs to play. They had a water spigot that dripped they said water can't drip on the ground our hosewas brand new with the connector, they did fix the spigot though We ended up going to another rv park that was family friendly with amenities and a lot of activities. It was noise appropriate and welcoming. We did not have a good experience there and we were there less than 24 hours. read more

I hate to write this but, I am going to. We lived there full time about 7 years ago. We loved it and as far as I was concerned it was just the greatest place. We have been back once since and stayed for a week and it was great. I called and talked to them and got the reservations. I tried to get a reservation for Wed before Thanksgiving and when I went to the website the only way to reach them was to fill out a request form. I never heard from them so I called again and finally got a voice mail. I left a message and have never heard back from them. I sent an email, still not response. I figure if they were full at least be good enough to respond and let me know there is not any where for my RV. I am very disappointed in the RV Park, I would never have imagined they would be so unresponsive. It is really the only one that is near Martinez, ca (many miles out of town) that we have ever found that we wanted to stay in. Well, not again. Very disappointed. Things have changed. I will say, it is not to say it is not a very well kept and nice place. The problem I have is the way they do not respond and just leave you without communicating. It is a very big deal for those traveling in an RV. read more

We stayed at Rio Viento RV Park for two months we found the park to be very quite and very clean, the sunsets are just Beautiful. Everyone keeps there spot clean and organized there isn't any sheds or tarps up like some other Parks. The showers and restrooms where closed due to Covid. There is a big fenced dog area in back. The park is 2 miles off HWY next to the Delta River. You can walk across the street and go fishing there are plenty of Windmills across the river which makes a beautiful view. The town of Rio Vista is about 15 min drive there's a grocery store, laundry mat, gas, restaurants, and a cute little old town next to the river. Or go west about 20 minutes into Antioch big city. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. read more

This is a really nice park that is very well maintained. That said there are some problems. 1 - The form you are asked to fill out to make a reservation is way over the top. I have stayed in many campgrounds and never had to answer those questions and supply that much documentation. 2 - The road leading into the campground from HWY 160 is absolutely atrocious. 3 - Once you get there, there is nothing within miles. Unless you are a fisherman there is nothing to do, no playground, no pool nothing the only amenity is a dog park. 4- Lastly, not necessarily their problem but you should know about it, is it is in a real wind tunnel. That is quite evident from all the wind generators in the area. The gale force winds made our stay very unenjoyable. read more

My boyfriend and I are travel healthcare workers and have been staying at Rio Viento 6 weeks now, which we just extended to 12 weeks. The park is extremely clean/well kept and very friendly managers! We feel extremely safe here and never stress about leaving our RV while at work or out of town. The managers always keep an eye on the property and there is also a gated entry. Our lot currently has our RV and 2 cars parked with plenty of space, as the concrete pads are very large and well kept. The views of the Sacramento River and windmills at sunset are amazing! We've enjoyed many evening walks. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others in the area for both short or long term stays. read more

The husband and wife team running the place are friendly, kind and helpful. They recommended at great burger place, Burgerlicious that made really tasty burgers and great shakes. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway Rio Viento is a great place to stay. Fishing access was right across the street. It's a very quiet and serene location. We stayed in this park for a few short months and probably would've stayed longer if we didn't feel like we were walking on egg shells with management the whole time. You ask to do something out of the ordinary and while one manager will say yes there's another that will say no. Then there will be a new rule for it. They don't seem to be on the same page, and they are all about the strict rules. This park is great for people who don't full time. They don't have laundry, they don't have a park for kids. They want the security of the full time people paying the monthly rent but don't want to accommodate for some full time needs. If you want friends or family to visit for a day it's a hassle. However this park is really clean and well kept. The owner just took over this park from his parents and I hope he is able to bring his vision alive in his park and is able to make this park more comfortable to be at in the future. read more

I wanted to leave a five star rating because of all the great things about the park. If you read the other low ratings the common theme is rude management. Barbra is a really nice manager, but the other one has a serious anger management problem. I've seen him go off on people for minor issues to the point he swears at them and gets close up in their face as if threatening to fight. Now the rest of the story; Rating is ********** Ten stars for cleanliness, facilities and location. The views are truly wonderful. The Sacramento river runs just 80 feet from the park. During the windy season, the kite surfers rock. The neighbors are nice people. Its easy to make friends for BBQ's and chatting. read more

Ok... last time I was here it was a disaster. The old managers were off the chart asshats. A few months ago the new manager messaged me and asked if I could give them another chance. Well.. We stayed here for 14 months because of the Covid restrictions. We're retired and live full time in our RV. This was the absolute perfect place for us to quarantine and regroup. The hosts Stephanie and John, and the assistant hosts Kiko and John, were so helpful and kind to us. They kept the park clean and safe, and were responsive to our questions when we had them. The park is very quiet, filled with friendly people, and right across the street from the river. It IS windy there, but it keeps the heat down most days. We're moving to Washington state, but if we ever come back through California, we'll definitely stop in again. read more

Cons: Over 2 mile levee road to park is horrible and bumpy. Bathrooms ok but not great. No laundromat and you are 20 minutes from any town. Rio Viento is a "hidden gem". Lucky for those who go the extra mile to find this location. The management team, John and Stephanie, are absolutely awesome. They keep this property extremely clean and tidy. The property is gated. The management is notified by sensors whenever anyone drives in or out of the entrance. The speed limit is adhered to. We stayed there in our 40' Motorcoach, from October thru January and felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay. We have already booked a site for three months later this year. read more

Great Park Visit!! We stayed for about two weeks and enjoyed how far from town it was, a good 20min from gas or stores. It helps us feel safer for sure leaving the Trailer being in a more secluded area. If you love being by the water, in this case the Sacramento River and love being on the water windsurfing fishing or paddling this will definitely be a perfect place for you. It's a very short walk or drive right across the street to the river was a pleasant surprise. The cows and horses in the surrounding area, is a good site to see for anyone who wants to get away from the city life. The high winds at first seemed would be a bit much, but after getting the info, that if the winds died down the mosquitoes would be a problem, the wind didn't seem bad at all. The last day of stay, the winds died down and the mosquitoes where out!!!!! read more

John and Stephanie (the new management) are great! Very welcoming and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable about the area. Just generally a very pleasant couple to talk to. The park is very clean with enough space for a long rig and a second vehicle. Full hookups, which is great for the price range. Good for short or long term stay. Spots are paved and they have nice palm trees around the park. It's peaceful and quiet, near the kite / windsurf spots and a small beach down the road. It's a bit windy in the summer, but helps to cool off. Post comes in regularly, apart from usps. Laundry and food stores are not available anywhere on the island, will have to drive to Rio Vista / Antioch for that. Four stars for that reason. Overall, very good, would stay here again. read more

Nice, well maintained and secluded park. Wifi is ok. Okay Verizon and ATT reception (needed to use cell booster). Monthly rate is very good for area and owners are nice. The road it's on is honestly one of the worst roads I've ever been on. You are not allowed to overhang your RV over the grass for extra room on the pad and if cars don't fit in your spot, parking is an extra fee. They have problems with voltage drops on hot days when everyone is using their AC. My surge protector would cut power to my camper because it was so low (106V). Managers are very strict and on a power trip. If you don't bow down to them and follow their rules exactly, they'll hate you. I got pulled over 3 times in the first week for doing about 5-7mph. They also keep track of how many times they write you up and the reason. They failed to mention this. If they don't like what you're doing, they'll make a rule out of it. Copy of rules I received at check in versus an email from them were different. They said I didn't clean an oil stain from my vehicle, when I spent days cleaning it and it was gone before I left. I never got my deposit back because of this and they couldnt even prove that it was still there. They have threaten to kick out multiple people and have. They have special spots for wind surfers and people are forced to move around. Don't know why people aren't just assigned accordingly so they don't have to move. read more

A clean, quiet and remotely located RV park. If you have 4 rigs in your group, you are allowed to use one of the entertainment tents that all come with utensils, bbqs, grills, tables, chairs etc. ($100 cash deposit) This is our escape on playoff football weekend to have a place to watch the games without interruption except to get food off the grill or fetch another cold beverage. Bring your own propane bottles, and yes it can get windy at times as you are located right in the middle of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Cost is a little pricy, but the three or four times we've had our group outings there it's been worth the cost. Very nice and clean rest rooms and showers for use in the center of the RV park. read more

A nice clean park. Quiet with plenty of room on each site. The road and the sites are brick pavers with grass everywhere else. The staff is helpful and friendly. We use Verizon and ATT and both have pretty good connections. There are two issues. The first is the wind which comes and goes but when it is blowing it is fast and steady. The second is that the ants are a pain and need to be dealt with. The area is wonderful for walking and enjoying the scenery and there are great views. There is some boat traffic on the river and when the wind is up there are a lot of kite and wind surfers. The nearby town of Rio Vista has everything we need. read more

Management disclosed personal information to me about other occupants then told me "but they don't want anyone to know that" followed by "I don't know why they are so private" this information included their job title and location. Wouldn't be such a big deal if the manager didn't literally come to my trailer and seethingly yell at me - after I noted he was upset and asked if there was anything I could do to make this right- for breaking a rule of having a "visitor" (which was internet installation AFTER we got permission) and then using my job title to tell me "you should know that" all while showing up to my unit multiple times without a mask on (multiple occasions management didn't wear a mask) All kinds of inconsistencies. The way he spoke to me and spoke about others is completely inexcusable. Tried to find somewhere else to go but everywhere else was FULL while this place had plenty of open spots. That alone speaks volumes. It never got better and I was there 3 months for work. All kinds of weird stuff. Also would not recommend for kids since the managers are so controlling and there is next to nothing for kids to do. It feels like a sterile retirement village. Bathrooms are closed for construction. I make it a point not to leave poor reviews, but this one needed it. Don't give out any info to this management team. Two stars because they have monthly rates, level lot and the property looks nice. read more

I've been enjoying RIo Viento RV park for many years. I was originally introduced to the park due to the terrific windsurfing conditions at Sherman Island in the summer. I've found, however, that the park also tends to attract a very nice set of guests that I've enjoyed meeting outside of the sport. The spaces are quite large for an RV park and the facilities are well maintained. The management staff is welcoming and runs a good facility. Definitely the best park in terms of quality in the Bay Area that I'm aware of. read more

We stayed at this campground for two months. It was very quiet and we saw some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets both out our back window and up by the river, which is just across the road from the campground. Loved all of the palm trees. We got great service. Barbara, the campground manager, was wonderful. The brick pavers throughout the campground are classy and make for a nice, level and clean campsite. If there was a laundry room and other amenities, we would have given it five stars. read more
