As a Christmas present, I wanted to repair the box, replace the glass, and ceremoniously refold the flag that had come unfurled when the box fell. While replacing it would have been easier and probably cheaper, my father was deeply sentimental about the original case. I finally visited House of Glass in Elmhurst. As they were leaving, I inquired if they replaced glass in mirrors. I handed over a full length antique morror encased in wood that belonged to my Great Grandmother. I requested a beveled mirror.
