Ripleys believe it or not in Hollywood has a lot of nostalgia of things that actually happens or happened. Welcome to the bazaar and the strange. A dog swallow, a knife did not die. Tickets are $25 per person plus tax. If you feel like playing tourist for the day, this is the place to be. There are several museums close to each other..

It's been a while...... but still interesting to visit. There is more to see around here..... but in my opinion Ripley is the best one. Enjoying a day with the family. Believe it or not :)

definitely a place to visit if your a fan of the show (that played wayyyy long time ago). lol PROS: * the staff were very nice * musical stairs was cool * interactive stuff * tallest man model actually stood up CONS: * very strong scent of plug ins everywhere * probably finished it in 40 min; so kinda pricey

I recently visited with my hubby & my younger brother & let me just say we loved the experience. I agree with other reviews that say it takes about 90 minutes give or take to visit the entire exhibitions but worth it! Personally I like odd things and the collection Ripley's has is truly odd, but there's an array of items here. I really loved the collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. I am amazed that someone made a portrait of her made entirely of candy! This truly is a gem of a place and the staff was very friendly & helpful. Overall I truly enjoyed my visit.

Ripley's believe it or not was worth checking out. I haven't been on Hollywood blvd in LA since my early 20's. It was a lot cleaner than I remember it being then. I love the food and the energy of this city. Since we were wandering the wax museums, we decided to checkout Ripleys. I've always been a fan since I was a young girl, so we decided to spend our time there before our next appointment. My family and I spent about an hour and a half give or take to see everything. My daughter was mesmerized by the Marilyn Monroe showcase and her dress. We had a blast playing on their musical stairs and in between every showcase. Combining entrance for Ripleys with the wax museums saves you money. We enjoyed it and would recommend it. If you're off Hollywood blvd and looking for stuff to do check out Ripleys.

Such a neat place to experience!! Fun for all ages, and not too expensive either! Definitely recommend :)

My visit with my family to Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum was Enjoyable. I can relate to prior visits and this visit yesterday. I CAN'T SAY that everything in the museum is entirely Enjoyable as always maybe as Was... My family was warmly welcomed as we entered the lobby of the museum by two laid back Hosts. We were given the privilege take our time to explore and take in the museum at our own pace while the museum wasn't congested with a lot of visiting guests yet. I enjoyed a lot of the hand made art displays of the Celebrities, some of the unique abilities of some people who ever existed before me, and some of the scientific inventions that were created ions ago by artist with talented infinite unique imaginations. It gave me great pleasure to walk on and play on the electric motion staircase piano. "I felt like Tom Hanks in the movie BIG of 1988." I enjoyed learning and taking in culture that I hope remains infinite and other people continue to appreciate and enjoy great art like I am privileged and blessed to be able to bestow upon. The museum could be expanded more and updated on certain displays. "Believe It or Not!...their bathrooms were really clean..." And, "Believe It or Not!...it's not everyday that I make these discoveries..."

The information on the wall were pretty cool but not -that- striking. I feel like they can be information someone could gather up in one of those "fun facts" Youtube videos. There were also a lot of weird art pieces inside more than historical memorabilia-- if that makes sense.

Dean Cain was so slim back then. Who?

Ripley's is a bit of a rip off! $25 believe it or not?! Even with the $7 discount on Groupon it's just not worth the entrance fee. The attractions would have been interesting 20 years ago but since the advent of CGI, projection mapping and AI, this type of exhibit just needs to be better to hold its own. Nothing against analogue but to compete it needs to be quality. And the stuff in this dingy museum is just too random and second rate to be interesting or of value. Kids don't get the references, even to Terminator or Dean Cain's Superman. The Star Wars room has a small wooden lightsaber made by a fan and a video of someone playing John Williams music on the piano. And anyway, why is Star Wars in there anyway? Nothing seems directly connected to Ripley so the narrative arc is broken. Staff are excellent but can't help thinking they are a little embarrassed about what's behind the curtain. The best thing there is a piece of the Berlin Wall, but it's not on public display. ‍ Save your money and go the the California Science Centre which is free and authentic. Or the Academy Museum which is the same price as Ripley's and a proper museum.

I'm going with five stars because this great little museum was the best Ripleys museum I've been to and did a wonderful job on all exhibits! This was my favorite of the museums that I visited while in West Hollywood. I'll admit I am a Ripley's believe it or not fan! But this museum earned its five stars on its own! Some of the things you'll see here is a life like statue of the worlds, biggest man! It blew me away. It was like looking at a giant. Another incredible exhibit was on how headhunters used to shrink human skulls. Look where else are you going to find something like this out? I don't want to get anyone too grossed out, but it was one of the coolest exhibits I've seen in many many years! Also, I didn't realize that Ripley searched the world for exotic treasures and facts. There are so many wood carvings and masks in here from all corners of the world! It felt like I was walking through an Indiana Jones movie set! Truly, breathtaking and amazing! And everywhere you went there were lots of great amazing facts! I strongly recommend buying the combination ticket with the Hollywood wax Museum. It's only a few extra dollars and both museums in my opinion were first class! Well, not large, both of them were big enough to give you a nice flavor of what they were showing and small enough to manage if going through there with a family. I would do both of them one after another. Both could be done quickly or you could spend hours in there depending on your liking. Highly recommended to visit one day while staying in Hollywood. It's located right on the Hollywood walk of fame across the street from the Chinese theater area at the intersection!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this museum! We didn't expect to walk into this place as we were just casually passing by and was just wondering what it actually was. It has a bunch of cool fun random props, paintings, facts you wouldn't think you'd walk into! The employees were also so kind to us and informative. I recommend this place for anyone for a cool date night

I like weird things & since I was a kid I always enjoyed watching the show and reading the books when they came out. I know there isn't really a ton of room for this location to expand, but it would be nice if they could either update their current displays or expand the location to include more. As others have mentioned unless you stop to read every plaque & watch any short clips they might have playing then you can get through the museum in a short amount of time which makes the price of admission kind of expensive especially for families. My husband & I stopped here back in 2018 just the two of us & we just visited again last month with our kids + my parents and the only two things that changes was they included Kim K. & the part where you could re-wind footage of the area with the tongue twister area was gone. Some people are into what would be considered the "older" displays such as Marilyn Monroe & I know they are in Hollywood but it would be nice if they could change some of their areas to include more of the newer Believe it or not stories & people. Having an entire room for Marilyn & a large section just for superman felt kind of meh knowing some of the more exciting features in their books & show episodes. Several of their machines & the musical stairs also were not working properly when we visited this last time.

Wow, I thought I reviewed this one. It was a great way to spend the afternoon at Ripley's in Hollywood. I've been to Ripley's in st. Augustine but Hollywood has so much more history from all over the world. Tickets were $25 a person. You walk through at your own pace. As you walk downstairs, it's like you're walking on a piano. Each step is a key. If you have time while in Hollywood add Ripley's to your spots to visit.

Ask the Community - Ripley's Believe It or Not!

How much is it to enter the museum?

I believe it's $25? But if you get the VIP pass deal you can enter Ripley's, Guinness, and House if wax for $37.

    Where should I park?

Their is a parking lot behind ripleys across the street on right side. Hope this information helps.

Our guide, Lauren did a great job escorting our group throughout the sites of the studio. She shared many interesting facts and stories and answered all of our questions. Very interesting seeing the building facades and landscaped grounds and the history of the studio. In the morning they served juices, coffee, tea, water, chips, cookies, danish to munch on before the tour started. Caveat is you only have 15 minutes to relax and enjoy before leaving for the tour. Lunch break happened at the end of our two hour guided tour. The tour package lunch included a hot or cold entree, side dish and drink. We were surprised at the selection and quality of the food. Various hot and cold sandwiches, salads, chips and a full selection of hot or cold, large or small coffee drinks. Even some blended coffee drinks. We ordered the hot Cuban sandwich, Cobb salad and a large iced coffee latte drink. The Cuban was hot but a little bit soggy but still tasty. Cobb salad super fresh and healthy. Coffee drink was solid with creamy topping. After lunch you begin the self guided portion of the tour which is inside stage 48? Where the restaurant was located. There's an interactive walk-through gallery attached that shows so much history, lets you work a bit on post-production of film scenes, and photo ops with the Friends set and Big Bang Theory. The Superman Experience was incredible! Top Shelf all the way. It's an immersive event- part 3D video game you walk through, and part interactive exploration of the Fortress of Solitude. The area has a really cool bar that serves fun drinks and snacks. Finally we ended up at the self-guided DC Comics/Harry Potter museum where costumes and vehicles were on display. And they added in some cool interactive things to do as well. There's even a Sorting Hat that will tell you which House you belong in. But I protest the hat choosing Slytherin for me. That's BS. Six Taste Food Tours is a family-owned, LA-born-and-raised business, and you can feel the love, pride, and intention in every part of the tour. We did the Little Tokyo food tour and it was incredible from start to finish. Sally, the owner and our guide, is an absolute force. She is warm, knowledgeable, fun, and has the best energy. She doesn't just show you where to eat, she teaches you the history, culture, and stories behind the neighborhood while making sure everyone feels welcomed and taken care of. And the FOOD. Wow. You will not leave hungry. Sally feeds you like family and thoughtfully curates each stop so you're getting a true taste of the neighborhood, not tourist filler. Every bite was delicious and meaningful. This is not just a food tour, it's an experience. You're learning, laughing, vibing, and eating extremely well. If you live in LA or are visiting, this is a must. They offer tours in so many different neighborhoods, and after this one, I want to do them all. Do yourself a favor and book it. You will not regret it.

The two stars go to Big Mike holding down this bizness. The cons: The night before Purchased dual package tour: La Hood Life and Hollywood tour for $125 a person. A Text message sent at 2am said to meet up at 930am, which we didn't see until parking in the garage at 930am. We get there at 937am to check in, our tour gets verified with the owner (bald slick brother in a all white T parked a glossy badass Benz). At 10am the rest of our tour group arrives. They wait on the opposite end of us because our tours are separate. At 1010am we get verified the 3rd time that we have both tours booked, then offered a seat in the open air tour truck. At 1035 we get verified again & told to get off the open air tour truck and get a seat on the white van with everyone else, that our Hollywood tour would be after we get back from the Hood tour, Mind you the tour I booked was described as 3.5 hrs, quick & to the point. Instead We end up on a nearly 4 hours long tour of the hood. We got back to the pickup location at 230pm. 5 hrs in total wasted mostly by waiting around, watching a verbal argument btwn Mooney, the owner & Big Mike but he seemed to stay out of it. The complaining and arguing and cussing was authentic, cuz Mooney's frustration was real & felt. Yet I think his hissy fit led to all the chaos & waiting around we had to do. We're out $80 because that how much more we paid than everyone else on our tour. I left feeling "Debow-ed" with my tourist chain getting yanked off! Not to mention, the Van sound system went out by blasting uncontrollable screeching noise every time the Van was started back up. This screeching assault to our hearing happened about 9 times. Painful!!! Plus we were stuck in the heat with no AC. Haha it was so ridiculously awful, that looking back I can only laugh. Luckily we broke down close to a small store & bought cold drinks & snacks while the wiring was figured out to the sound system. The rest of the tour the microphone didn't work so the people in the back couldn't hear Big Mike's awesome story telling, and their nonstop complaining behind me was distracting AF. Lastly what we were overcharged $80, should be given to Big Mike and lil sum for Mooney cuz Mooney was mad as hell and I could tell by his high level cussing he can tell a story too.
