Breezy Point has the charm so much of the area has lost. The overall ambience is a mix of 70's, 80's and today, and that's most definitely one of the keys to their success. If you have fond memories of the Lakes past humble and fun persona, they'll be rekindled here for sure. Even so, everything is kept very very clean and comfortable. We had a chance to talk to Teresa, the owner and the Diana from housekeeping. Both of them were very friendly and helpful, and they confirmed what appeared to be the case: the place is neat as a pin under the close observation of Pat, Teresa's husband. The attention to detail is evident. We didn't see any of the bugs or spiderwebs that have always - at least for me - been part of the Lake experience. Every corner of this property is ship-shape and updated as needed, from the Weber grills without a scratch to the very comfortable beds. I'm so glad we found this place and I predict we'll be regulars.

We loved the saltwater pool, which felt amazingly soft and therapeutic. The restaurant was great, though I definitely recommend making reservations in advance; the bar was packed while we waited for a table, but that was on me for not planning ahead! The back nine of the golf course offered breathtaking scenery and some enjoyably challenging hills--hands down the best golfing experience I've ever had. I've always loved the natural beauty of Southern Missouri and Arkansas, and in my opinion, this is the most stunning course around. On top of that, the golf club staff was fantastic, that time around. With our recent return to Old Kinderhook this past August, much of the resort continued to impress. The culinary options throughout the property were outstanding, the saltwater pools remained a highlight, and the hotel staff provided great service. Securing dinner reservations in advance elevated our dining experience even further. However, a couple of areas could use attention: the bedding and pillows seem ready for replacement, & due to the resort's location in a valley, the air can feel quite damp unless the room's air conditioning is set to a notably chilly temperature. Major Disappointment at the Golf Club in 2026: Hostile Atmosphere: The pro shop staff made us feel unwelcome. The overall vibe felt hyper-rigid, full of alienating unwritten rules, and completely non-inclusive. Overbearing Staff: While we respect pace of play, the marshal checked in on us so constantly that it completely disrupted our game. Course Conditions: The front section felt poorly maintained--wooded, but lacking the basic care and upkeep seen at other comparable courses. Poor Value: We only made it through six holes before leaving, received no refund, and paid nearly 200% of our 2024 package price for a vastly inferior experience.

Pros: nice family friendly place, owners are nice, and nice outdoor amenities including the playground. I think we would consider coming back, but I think I would need a deluxe cabin so it's not as noisy and I would probably ask them to check ahead to make sure it's indeed clean enough.

After…read moregrowing up staying at Cedar Green Resort, I remembered with fondness all the good times we had hanging out at The Lake and wanted to share that with my wife and young kids. We have stayed at Kon Tiki Resort two of the last four years and have stayed in the same cabin both times. The cabins are small but cozy and well kept. In fact, our cabin was renovated in between our first and second stay. New floors and complete bathroom remodel. Cabin has a kitchen and table for four which is great for my wife and I and two young girls. It's a full kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, microwave and several cabinets stocked with all the dishes and utensils needed for a weeks vacation. Cabin also has three small bedrooms, not much bigger than the beds. Tight, but really, we are there to be out in The Lake and be out running around. Cabin also has a charcoal grill which we used several times. Our cabin had a shaded deck that wrapped around one corner of the cabin offering a great view of the lake. Resort has all the facilities you need for a week of fun in the water. Laundry, boat rental, sand swimming beach, two docks with slips, ice on site. We rented a fishing boat just to give our oldest a ride on the lake and not so much for fishing. Rental was moderately priced and well maintained. Since the resort is on "the quiet side" of The Lake, we had a nice leisurely ride. There is also a nice patio area with several tables and lots of lounge chairs, great for keeping an eye on the girls while they are swimming or relaxing and watching the evening fade away. Kon Tiki is located on EE along with a lot of other family resorts. EE is close to a full service grocery store and there is a gas station nearby, both located at the corner of highway 7 and 5. Kon Tiki is beautifully maintained and the owners are nice as can be, and available if needed.

We found Gasconade Hills Resort on the RVLife app. We pulled up at about 5:15 PM and called the phone listed. James showed up within a couple of minutes to check us in. We did not have prior reservations so we were able to drive around to pick a spot we preferred. We set up quickly and were able to enjoy the very clean, nice size pool. The bathrooms at the pool were also very clean. Afterwards, we decided to order pizza and although it was very close to closing time, James took our order and delivered to our camping site. WE LOVED IT HERE! Can't say enough good things about it. Wish we had time to do the river floats. We are already planning to come back and stay for a few days.
