We rented an Airbnb close in Osage Beach near the bridge the end of September and looked for a…read morefishing boat to rent for a day or two that was nearby. Calling and checking on prices, The Getaway was the first that appeared to be interested in working with me and patiently explained they didn't do little (we were a party of five) fishing boats anymore. We ended up getting a new Tritoon that could probably hold a dozen persons, no problem. Secured our fishing licenses and found the rental location where a young man was waiting with a side-by-side, willing to haul our gear down to the dock. Checking in was smooth and easy, instructions were given, and directions and ideas shared on the best areas to fish. Well, the fishing wasn't great, although we changed location a few times, and we hoped to stop at a dockside restaurant, so returned the boat a bit early so we wouldn't go over our allotted time. The Tritoon performed beautifully (hair trigger on the throttle), powerful motors, shade, pockets for storage. They were right--the Triton was very stable, waves no problem. Expected to pay for gas in addition to quoted price but apparently overlooked or forgot about the cleaning fee. The young man hauled our gear back up the hill. Would love to return with a larger party and really have some fun.

We decided to venture out to a really cool state park while we are staying near Lebanon. There is…read moreno admission fee and you can park right next to the castle if you are mobility challenge, but we parked at a lower level and hiked up. I'll paved walkway, not a bad walk at all. I added the picture of the story of the Kansas City businessman that decided to purchase 5000 acres and build a castle here back in the early 1900s. You can read the story on that particular photo. The ruins seem well maintained, you are not allowed to walk in them, but you can get pretty close and take photographs. There are also several viewing platforms around the area, which gives you some pretty cool views of lake of the Ozarks. They do have pit toilet Bathrooms available. Beautiful place and can highly recommend for a historical visit as well as spending some time in nature.

I don't even like staying in our pop-up because it means we have to be near other people, so I usually prefer tent camping for solitude. Holy wow! This place is actually quiet at 10:00pm, 99% of the guests were delightful, the owners and employees went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, and we even participated in their Christmas in July festivities which included a potluck dinner and decorating contest. I will always remember this place and recommend it to anyone passing through or staying at the Ozarks. Love love LOVED it!!! (Part of me wants to give it a bad rating just to keep it a secret hidden gem because great reviews make places more popular and then all the crazies want to visit ;) But as Dolores Umbridge says, I must not tell lies) They're beyond professional, do a downright warm and friendly job of creating a magical place. Thank you so much for our experience that my entire family will never forget. We loved Osage Beach RV! It was my favorite part of our trip.

Being a class A RV'er we are always looking for nice places to stay. Although we live here and would not be staying there, we run into people on our travels who want to visit the lake and need space for a big rig. The ad leads you to believe it is like a 5 star rv resort. Upon arriving there is no office, and only 1 row of campsites, the sites are all paved but unlevel. There literally is no where to turn around for a big rig. The place is totally undeveloped, they have a long way to go. Maybe in a few years if they finish it, it might be alright. As for now I do not recommend it. They should not have an ad in a magazine until the place is finished.

First thing we noticed was the quality of construction. The facilities were all just about brand new and done with very good taste. The owners put a lot of time and effort in to keeping the place up and were prompt to attend to any of our requests. There were kayaks and other water sporting activities available. The pool and hot tub were super clean and well kept and they had cornhole and giant Jenga in the pool house. There is a beautiful view of the Lake from the pool. What was also nice is that there is a grocery store just a few minutes down the road. The sites themselves had full hookups, a fire pit and a picnic table. The only downside I have to give is that there was no shade at the site itself. Having a pop up camper, this was an issue in 95 degree heat. Would recommend planting some trees :) Other than that, I would very much recommend this location for a little time by the Lake!

When we checked in we were left on own to find the best way into site, was told you can go 1 of 2 ways ; neither one worked. We went all the way around park just to pull through. On the upside, they have working cable and wifi. Each site has a newer looking picnic table. There is a doggy designated area. The water system is lacking, (see photo)however I understand it gets cold here, but somehow I think there is much room for improvement. Not the worst KOA we have stayed in, but certainly not the best.

Our fifth wheel is long and a few of the spots are tricky, so the owner was nice backup to spot us while we parked it. There is a nice lake for fishing or relaxing and they even have a sweet non-denominational church service on Sunday mornings (in season). If there is only one downside, it's the lengthy entry to get into the park. It's a gravel road that shouldn't be taken quickly. Really looking forward to returning!

Take your time and read them (including the 5 star ones) I stopped counting at 25 of people who complained about the road and it went back years ago. You try to avoid one pothole or washed out area just to hit the next pothole or washed out area. It was so bad we stayed somewhere else. Id rather loose out on the deposit then destroy my vehicle. ​
